The name wolf Swamp comes from the Pony Express Riders that carried Mail from The Canterbury Railroad Station to The Northfield Station. There were many Wolf Sitings reported on the Trail through the Swamp by The Riders, so it was named The Wolf Swamp. The Campsites are spread out over 52 Acres, lots of privacy, plenty of parking and the sites are huge. Lots of hiking in area, 5 different Swimming locations, we are in the Center of the Local Trail System. Local attractions are minutes away, Highland Mountain Bike Park, Canterbury Aleworks, Canterbury Woods Country Club, Shaker Village, Brookford Farm, Hackleboro Orchard and Fishing or kayaking the Merrimack River or enjoying the Beach at Sandogardy Pond with it's children's Playground. The state snowmobile trails run nearby with access at the power lines that cross Raccoon Hill, Great for hiking, biking in the summer. And snowmobiling in the winter. State rail trail is nearby also (bottom of Raccoon Hill and rt 11) Giving access to the entire state! Highland Lake is a few miles away. Webster Lake is a bit further down the road. You're free to explore the land and trails that go part way around the pond to the "Big Rock" and beyond. Info at the campsite for other nearby hikes and activities. We allow public access to the "Grassy Area", however larger camper groups that book this site have full access and are welcome to setup tents there, but no fires are allowed on the grass.. only in designated fire pit. (FOR THOSE WITH A TOW BEHIND CAMPER, you will want to drive to the pond boat landing at the end of Chapman Pond Rd, turn around, head back towards the campsite and BACK IN.) FOR THOSE WITH DOGS, we love dogs, we have our own. For everyone's safety and well-being we ask that you please keep them with you and under your control at all times. We have a farm nearby and want no casualties because of a loose dog. Also, our 90 lb APBT is very friendly but not to every dog he meets. $20 PET FEE - 2 DOGS MAX. SMOKERS, we allow smoking at the site but please dispose of your butts properly and help keep our property beautiful. All around beautiful and peaceful campsite. City of Keene is 15 minutes away. We are at the top of Raccoon Hill. Overlooking a valley with Punch Brook at the bottom. You can see Belknap Mountain across the way. There are many trails nearby. The state snowmobile trails run nearby with access at the power lines that cross Raccoon Hill, Great for hiking, biking in the summer. And snowmobiling in the winter. State rail trail is nearby also (bottom of Raccoon Hill and rt 11) Giving access to the entire state! Highland Lake is a few miles away. Webster Lake is a bit further down the road. Fishing ponds are all over the area. Ragged mountain is 20 minutes from here. The mountain biking park in Northfield is about 20 minutes away. Black Bear Vineyard is a few miles away. Enjoy our 73 acres in peace. Our site has a well you can use to fill up your tanks, we recommend using an in-line filter as the water is not tested. We recommend using it for showers and toilets. 2 50amp hook ups. And septic hook ups.

Absolutely beautiful campsite along a little pond. We had some surprise visits from a couple horses, Emily and Sunny, from a neighboring farm which put a great big smile on our faces. Dwayne, the man, the myth, the legend himself brought us two very large bags of wood which we happily burned throughout the cold night. Still one of my favorite sites for its convenience and scenery. Although the highway is right next to you, after a little bit it turns into white noise and helped me sleep like a baby. Thanks again for a great stay on our final trip of the year. See you guys next year!

This site was perfect for our camper van. The pond is pretty, and most certainly private. In terms of tent camping, there isn’t a large area that’s fully flat- maybe big enough for 1-2 tents most. The toilet is close by and clean. One thing to note- the highway is right near the property (as private and in the woods as it is) and it was surprisingly loud from this site. We could manage it no problem but if you prefer no car sounds, maybe not the best spot. The whole property is beautiful. The owners are very nice. We arrived in the dark and were a little unsure if we were in the right spot but once we got to the house/chatted with Elle and her husband, they helped us find the site. If you purchase wood from them, it’s a large amount of nicely burning wood. We will definitely return!

We stayed two nights at Brook Side #9! It was a pretty site next to a little brook, which was so nice to fall asleep to at night. The campsites are close enough to each other to where you can see them, but sound is concealed well by the trees. Only downside is there was no hand sanitizer in the porta potty. Otherwise would recommend!

We had the BEST time at Wolf Swamp! The site was extremely private, tucked away with a long walking trail right out the “backyard.” The pond was peaceful, the foliage was at peak color, and it felt like our own little retreat. We enjoyed cozy fires, long walks, and watching our dogs run for miles. We also popped over to Brookside Farm for snacks and PYO raspberries—highly recommend! It looks like they have fun events coming up too, so definitely check their social media. We could not have been more relaxed and are so grateful for the opportunity to spend time on this beautiful property. We’ll absolutely be back—and next time, we’re bringing friends!
