Hip Campers can choose to back into one of the corral areas to have fenced off privacy especially with pets, and use of the animal shelter as shade. There are a pair of picnic tables and wood stump benches in the various camping areas. There is a fire pit behind the Shop that can only be used by the owner when it is not high-risk fire season. Also a gas stove BBQ in the shop. Both can be used upon request. We are in a high risk fire area so there are no fires allowed any time of the year unless indicated. There are relics from the 19th century when the Santosh Ranch was a working farm property. There is also the frame of one of the first automobiles ever built! The wheel spokes and the frame are made of wood, but the chassis where the engine one rested is made of steel. It is located next to the Ecozoic toilet.

Flyte and Sparrow is such a special place. We came here for the first time in November and already returned one month later in December. Tiny Blue is a lovely, cozy little getaway. It’s incredibly insulated and we were perfectly comfortable and warm each night. Some of our highlights from our trip were simply just being on the land. Cooking a meal in the beautiful kitchen, watching the dramatic sunsets each night, trying to figure out the different grazing patterns of the cows, feeding Geiger the llama bananas, and conversations with Wendy. Wendy is so wonderful, warm and welcoming, and we loved each conversation, cherishing each tidbit of wisdom. Thank you Wendy for the eggs and the beautiful welcome card! There is also a forest right behind the property which was absolutely gorgeous. In November, we took a four-wheel drive up to a fire lookout which was a stunning viewpoint, and when we returned in December, the ground was already blanketed in snow. It was magical, especially watching the community come together to cut down their Christmas tree. We are looking forward to returning throughout the different seasons

The camp host came out to meet each arriving party and guide them to their spot (as most of us rolled in after dark). Later she started a bonfire, and for the next couple of hours folks congregated in small groups talking about where they had been and where they were going. Very enjoyable social experience. Cooking facilities were excellent. They are outdoor, but it does not often rain here. Wind was moderate the night I was there. Two bathrooms (flush toilets and running water) quite close to the campsites.

Lovely, quiet place to camp, and of course the alpacas made it even more special. The heater made the tent plenty warm even though it was early November. Close to Carson and Virginia City, so we were able to explore. We would definitely return!

A safe and fun place to rest and recovery during an adventure. I enjoyed all the alpaca friends I made during my stay, all very curious to see what I was cooking up. There is a lovely little shop for you to browse while staying there and you are able to feed the alpacas! The community who help tend the land and care for the animals are lovely people and gave me quite the education on alpacas.

This is an incredible property with an incredible host! I camped at Willow springs, and really enjoyed the lushness of the willows, the privacy, and watching the Beavers, Owls and Hawks. I also stayed a week in Tiny Blue which was a little slice of heaven!! I loved all the books, the view and it was super comfy! The tiny kitchen and bathroom nearby were absolutely perfect and I didn't need to leave the property for anything for many days. Wendy is so enthusiastic and hands on, you can really tell she loves what she does and has built a beautiful sanctuary for artists, writers, creative types and those that are in need of some sanctuary. I Especially encourage women who are Solo camping to spend some time at this beautiful location! I can't wait to come back next year!🌀

This is the most incredible property, with the most incredible host! A peaceful sanctuary that allows one to get back in alignment with their own self in a lovely natural setting. I HIGHLY recommend for women on a healing journey, artists and writers needing to clear out blocks, or spiritual seekers in need of some sanctuary! This place has all the "magicalness" of Sedona & Mt. Shasta! A yearly visit is now on my calendar in order to give myself a much needed retreat! Camping at Willow woods was beautiful and private and I loved watching the Beavers, Owls, and Hawks. I also stayed at Tiny Blue, which was so comfortable, had beautiful views, and lots of cool outdoor sitting areas. The tiny kitchen had everything I needed and gave me the luxury of staying for an entire week! You can tell that Wendy loves being a host and believes in the sanctity of what she has created here, and it's reflected in every detail of the property itself and within her personal enthusiasm! This truly is a "choose your own adventure" experience!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars!

We were welcomed with real hospitality, which was wonderful to experience during our specific time traveling the west. Ample wood, how water shower and grill with cooking tools provided. The fire pit was the best, we were looking for an all night fire, and were able to have one. The space we stayed felt comfortable and safe, as if we were in a sphere of our own world. The owners had a table , chairs and bell tent available. I enjoyed the friendly encounter, and helpful check in from the owner, and made sure we had everything we needed. I do know that I’ll be back to connect with the land as it’s all been blessed up after our stay. I recommend this spot for a couple wanting a cool experience, I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in spring time. We stayed in October, the fire kept us warm. The fire pit was the main highlight for us. Felt welcomed to be there, Pinenut land has great history and a good spot to have a sacred experience being under the stars and the beauty of the creek flowing at night. 10/10. Warrior

Not every day am I surrounded by alpacas! This is a unique experience for animal lovers, giving you the chance to observe or interact with alpacas, goats, sheep, chickens, and farm dogs. My 10 year old was both enthralled and overwhelmed by the eager alpacas. Camping is pleasant, with a lovely setting, adequate porta-potty, some space between rigs, easy pull through, clear directions, friendly staff. Bring ear plugs if barking livestock guardian dogs will disturb your sleep (I was bothered, my family was not).

Weekend Trip to Flyte and Sparrow natural interlude

I loved staying at Tiny Blue! The solace was much needed and the space is comfortable with incredible views. The beaver pond is very sweet and the resident llama is awesome. Wendy gave very clear directions and is available if anything comes up. There’s even an outdoor kitchen and a fire pit! I will be staying here again!

Weekend Trip to The Retreat on Big Grizzly Creek

This is a really great spot and we enjoyed our stay! We enjoyed the roaring creek next to us and hearing the water as we went to sleep and upon wake up! The tent was well built, felt cozy and secure. The propane heater provided was a MUST as we stayed mid-Oct and the nights were cold outside. It heated it up very quickly and we had to turn it down while we slept it got so toasty. While there are 2 options for parking, if we weren't able to park where we did (closer to the tent), it would have made for more difficult logistics. We just barely were able to get our full-sized truck backed down the path (between the posts) in order to park close to the tent. In muddy weather this might have been more challenging. FYI - you need to have some pretty decent backing up and maneuvering skills to back down through the gate, esp if you have a full sized truck like we did. We did navigate to this spot at night which was a bit challenging in the dark but everything worked out well. This is a nice, secluded and peaceful spot!

Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest

It was pretty cool camping with the Alpacas! We loved the views the property offered. We fed the Alpacas and got some cute pictures. We got some cute things in her little store too. Stacy was super accommodating and friendly. Would stay again.
