This cozy, thoughtfully designed cabin is perfect for solo travelers or couples looking to slow down and enjoy the beauty of Plumas County. The cabin has a small loft style bed that can possibly accommodate one to two adults. The bed/Loft space is 4 feet wide and 7.3 feet long. A cot is also provided for additional sleeping space. The cabin sits on our peaceful 10-acre meadow property in a rural mountain community. While there are nearby neighbors as well as the host's house, the setting still offers plenty of space, fresh air, and a relaxed country feel. Inside, you’ll find simple comforts to support your stay, including a camp stove, coffee maker, small refrigerator and microwave —ideal for easy meals and morning coffee. We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! It’s such a cozy and lovely place, tucked away from busy roads and the noise of the city. At night, I could sit outside and enjoy the stars in complete darkness, with nothing but the peaceful sounds of the forest around me. It was exactly the kind of quiet getaway we were looking for.
The cabin itself is very charming and has plenty of room for two people. The bed is located in a loft area right under the roof, which makes it feel extra cozy and unique. Getting in and out of the bed can be a little tricky, but it didn’t take away from our experience at all.
We had a wonderful time here and were genuinely sad to leave. A beautiful, peaceful place to disconnect, relax, and enjoy nature. Would definitely stay again!

The host Anett has a heart of gold. Genuinely one of the kindest and most welcoming humans we have met. She is a true steward of the land that she has lovingly built over the years. From our first interaction, we felt right at home on her property.
The cabin is quaint and cozy. The perfect balance between convenient amenities and immersion in nature.
Despite our short 1 night stay the whole experience left a strong positive impression on us and we cannot wait to return for a longer stay!

This was easily one of the best Hipcamp stays I’ve had. The tiny home is incredibly clean, cozy, and thoughtfully put together, with so many little touches that make the space feel welcoming and comfortable. She has clearly put a lot of care into the experience, from the amenities to the refreshments stocked in the fridge.
The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, and the friendly animals make it even more special. Being surrounded by the natural beauty near Portola was exactly the kind of quiet, rejuvenating reset anyone could ask seeking a retreat from their busy city lives.
She was also incredibly responsive, helpful, and easy to communicate with, and I honestly think her pricing is more than fair for what she provides. She may call it “camping,” but this was easily the most luxurious camping I’ve ever done. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation!

The cabin was absolutely perfect! The owl trim on the front of the cabin provides the right kind of feeling. Chairs outside to relax and enjoy the view and take in the ambiance. Inside the kitchenette had everything I needed and more. Bedroom was more than adequate. Slept well. Bathroom perfect. The entire vibe of the area was soothing and refreshing! The family stewarding the land are lovely! We will be coming back, for sure! And their dog Jack is a sweetheart he played with our dog, Maggie!

We thoroughly loved our stay at Lena's Landing! The location is peace, quiet, beautiful, and near spectacular hikes and lakes. The cottage is cozy, quaint, clean with a well-equipped kitchen and modern appliances. There's a small loft bed and cot that can fit snugly inside or on the porch. The host, Annett, is delightful and super accommodating and responsive. She has two friendly horses, a goat and dogs. Plus, there's a spacious, serene view from the cottage.

Our stay at Lena's Landing was wonderful and made even more special by Anett and her beautiful property. The rustic tiny cabin was so cozy, with a comfortable loft bed. We loved looking out over the property and watching the dogs, goats, and horses roam freely. The peaceful setting was absolutely beautiful. We stayed here because it was recommended by a family friend and it exceeded every expectation. We were in town for a local bike race and only stayed one night, but it was the perfect place to rest after a long day of racing. What truly made our stay unforgettable was Anett. She is an incredibly kind, thoughtful, and welcoming host who genuinely cares about her guests. She made us feel right at home. We are so grateful for our stay and cannot wait to return. Next time, we plan to stay longer so we can enjoy more of the property.

Anett was an outstanding host! We enjoyed our stay in Lena’s cabin and honestly slept so incredibly well. We wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was very clean and our stay included having access to: utensils, cooking pans, ground coffee, a french press, playing cards, propane stove top, a grill, a fire pit, a solar shower, the views of the meadows, stars and an opportunity to meet some of the farm animals (dogs, horses and Sully the goat). Absolutely best family experience I’ve ever had!! This was glamping to the max! We stayed in the modern “cabin” tiny home and honestly, the highlight was the high thread count of the sheets and bedding! So luxurious! And they said pet friendly they meant it. Our little pug was welcomed with open arms and we had such a good experience. Some places will say a pet friendly, but then add all these hidden fees and rules. Not this place. Straight forward pet deposit and rules. We stayed for Memorial Day weekend and they had so many family fun events for free! Bbq, live music, bounce house. Truly a wonderful community and paradise. We are even looking to buy into the cabin for the summer. Now let’s get into location. Perfectly located in the summer or winter months whether you are heading to Reno to scooter along the river walk, hit up the waterpark in sparks, or head to kings beach to winter wonderland proximity to snow parks and resorts. 10/10 experience! Highly recommend!! Oh and let’s not forget about the coffee pods and fire pit and free books to relax….truly amazing!!!

I had a great time, amazing views of the meadow! Perfect spot to get a little peace of nature. Plenty of activities, and the river is a quick walk across the meadows for a swim. Bringing my fishing pole next time. Another perk was the night sky, haven’t seen that many starts in a bit. Also loved the view from the outdoor shower.

We wish we would have had the time to stay longer!! Everything was simply perfect. Our host was amazing, so kind, and despite the shortness of the time we enjoyed our talks and every moment on this beautiful peace of property. Everything we needed was there and we enjoyed making a small fire on our one night barbecue dinner using the little grill that has been provided. Solar bags for quick shower heated up well during the day and the outhouse was clean. Took a short walk down to the river even though this time of the year the ground was still pretty wet so walking through the meadow was a bit challenging. Bring hiking boots :) Enjoyed watching the train going by in the distance; during our short stay we only noticed it once . Never saw the next door neighbors and the very few cars passing by behind the cabin were no bother to us since it is a dead end road. We both used the loft bed which worked for us. Very tall people might choose to use the cot besides the loft bed for having more space. Despite no indoor plumbing, it’s been great to have running and clean water for coffee etc at the little dishwashing station.
Due to the absolutely gorgeous scenery in this area, this was our 2nd time visiting. ( first time through hip camp) We recommend this “ Camping ground” highly!!!!

The Cabin at Lena's Landing was so quaint and well thought out. Many personal touches that added to a lovely experience. The view of the meadow was my favorite as I enjoyed my morning coffee. Everything was provided to make this a memorable and enjoyable experience. The hostess, Anette, is charming and made sure I was comfortable and any questions were answered. I plan on returning to this peaceful spot and bringing my horse for the next stay. Great areas to ride and explore. Definitely recommend Lena's Landing.

The trip to the cabin was truly magical! Sierra City is a tiny little town (and most of it is closed in the winter), so this is truly a place to get away from it all. The cabin felt spacious, even with 8 people and 3 dogs present. The inside, outside, and surrounding area is so beautiful. It’s an amazing place to lounge or go for a nice walk by the rivers. Rachel is also an amazing host and all of our needs were met!

Staying at this magical little cabin in the woods was everything you could ask for and then some. We had a great time just enjoying the quietness of the area and just the sounds of the Yuba river. Wow, wow, wow. We loved this cabin SO much. The layout, the design, the amenities, the location—everything was top notch! We visit this area often and had a group of 6 for a long weekend in September. The cabin had everything we needed, and it was great having 4 bedrooms. The kitchen was stocked—we used mugs, pots, pans, the kettle, coffee machine, and the grill. The front porch and back deck are also such great spaces. If you're looking for space for a group, this is it. We'll 100% be back!

Lake Tahoe
An hour south of Sparks sits Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park. It features crystal clear waters, sandy beaches, boat launches, and renowned skiing hills. Sand Harbor, Memorial Point, Hidden Beach, and Spooner Lake provide convenient on-site camping with picnic tables, fire rings, and restrooms. Choose from frontcountry, backcountry, RV camping, or cabin rentals at other private campgrounds around the lake. Check out Flume Trail above Sand Harbour for a challenging yet stunning point-to-point mountain bike ride. Or hike a portion of the 170-mile Tahoe Rim Trail.
Pyramid Lake
On the Paiute Tribe Reservation, Pyramid Lake is one of the largest natural lakes in Nevada with deep blue waters and unique rock formations. Known for fishing, swimming, picnicking, and camping, the lake also offers two on-site campgrounds, Pelican Point and Shot Dog, with restrooms, picnic tables, and fire rings.
