The Monument's visitor center and historic Summit Road are only about 3 miles away by road. **Legacy of the Plains Museum is about 3 miles away, Wildcat Hills Nature Center about 11 miles, and iconic Chimney Rock just over 20 miles away.** Spend the day exploring, then come home to the prairie for sunset, wildlife, wide-open skies, and spectacular stargazing.
### Camping on the Prairie
Our rustic prairie sites—welcoming tents, cars, vans, rooftop tents, truck campers, and motorcycles—are located directly on the prairie. RVs and pull-behind trailers are not permitted on the prairie sites.
The prairie is a fragile environment, and protecting it is important to us. To preserve its beauty and health, trailers and RVs must book one of our designated RV sites. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us care for this special landscape.
Our **RV sites offer 50-amp electricity** and a rustic camping experience on crushed concrete near our corral, with foot access to the prairie just steps away.
All sites share access to delicious potable water from our underground well, a clean porta potty, and our funky outdoor camp shower with unheated water. Guests also enjoy private foot access to hiking at various levels of challenge on the south side of Scotts Bluff National Monument.
A small group of yearling cattle calls the prairie home during portions of the summer and may share the prairie camping area with guests, particularly during May and June.
Prairie guests have relished the feeling of having the place to themselves—to experience the majesty of the landscape, the magic of our star-filled night skies, and a soulful communion with the land.
### A Landscape With a Story
Lisa is the **fourth generation of her family to live on Valley View Farm**, located directly south of the prairie. Her family has stewarded these lands since 1925, but her family's roots in the valley reach even further back.
Lisa descends from one of the area's pioneer families. Her ancestor, **Martin Gering, arrived in the valley in 1887** and became an early investor in the fledgling town that would eventually bear his name: Gering, Nebraska.

BE Farm is a welcoming, inclusive, and friendly farm space. All are invited to come as they are and enjoy the farm with respect for one another and the land.
Please note: From mid-September through the end of October, the farm is open to the public on Fridays (4 p.m.–dark), Saturdays (10 a.m.–9 p.m.), and Sundays (10 a.m.–6 p.m.). While other guests will be on the property during these hours, the campsite is set off to the side and designed to remain quiet and undisturbed.

From our property, you’ll have the opportunity to experience nature on a working farm. And nothing compares to a Nebraska sunrise or sunset, with skies exploding in unforgettable colors.
We are experienced farmers, and Nathan is a master naturalist who can lead hikes at nearby sites, including the Wildcat Hills. We also offer our farm products—grass-fed hamburger, garlic, and vegetable seeds—available for sale year-round. Seasonal vegetables and eggs may also be available.
Throughout the year, we host special events through the Living Environment Foundation. Our largest gatherings include the Ancestral Skills Festival in August and the Seed Fest in autumn.
This is a century farm, and the barn you’ll see on the property is over 100 years old and still in great condition. These are also the ancestral lands of the Lakota tribe. We are grateful for their stewardship and aim to honor their tradition of caring for the land through our certified organic and biodynamic farming practices.

We are located next to the Platte River Basin Environments, Bead Mountain Ranch, with 3,000 acres of hunting, hiking, and horseback riding.
Open to public lands (walk-in only), this also connects to the Murphy Ranch, also managed by the PRBE, and is connected to Buffalo Creek WMA for over 7,000 acres combined.
It is an incredible spot for wildlife viewing, featuring mule deer, bighorn sheep, 120 species of resident and migratory birds, wild turkey, pheasants, bobcats, and mountain lions. Mule deer hunting is available via archery, muzzleloader, and rifle seasons.

Title touchs two highlights.
Our favorite was the shower - we laughed so hard when water 1st cover's you with a coolness that not cold nor freezing - brisk. But you feel squeaky clean when done.
We also got a kick watching the rabbits chasing each other.
Plenty of water for you and the flower plants - give them a light drink so they are as pretty for next camper

Was a really nice and quiet place. Cow galore! They were on the other side of the fence but it was fun to see. Geese at a pond close by. We were under some huge cotton wood trees. Unfortunately, we arrived after the winery closed so we didn’t get to experience that. Ryan was very friendly and helpful.

Couldn’t have asked for a better spot on our first trip to Nebraska. This spot was absolutely beautiful, backed up to the bluffs. Lisa was a great host and when she found out we were using a rooftop tent instead of an RV, she suggested we stay on the prairie instead which made the night all that more beautiful. We had to battle with the Nebraska wind for a couple hours, but the sunrise was so worth it. We’ll definitely be back on our next time through.

A very ‘hip’ place with a hippie vibe! Very eclectic including the winery and paths to walk and view fireflies by the pond. 20 amp electricity and water from a hose (No 30 or 50 amp) which made it more on the primitive side and probably not suitable for bigger rigs. (Mine is 20’ and perfect size pull thru.)
