1 night at Hawks Bluff Farm Campground

There are so many great things about this location. From camping sites that are literally out in the woods and not right up on top of each other if you don’t want to be, to rock hounding abilities with people on site to help you through that, a creek about a 1/2-1 mile in that you can wade through, there are shower rooms that are clean, & out houses that do not smell awful & are economically responsible with wood shavings for composting it. There’s a covered outdoor kitchen for use and a small area to eat as well. She even has a small store where you can get amenities that you may have forgotten. This place offers a lot that other campsites just do not. Definitely worth checking out.

4 nights at Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors

This is our fourth year camping at Hummingbird Hallow. This site has become a tradition and a staple in our camping trips. The pasture is huge and the animals are lovely to be around. We bring carrots and apples to share with the pigs, goats, donkeys, and sheep. There is an outhouse in the shade that is stocked with toilet paper, hand sanitizer, seat cleaner, and a bucket of shavings to cover your waste. It can be a bit of a walk from your site, so bring a light with you to avoid unfortunate cow pies. Through a gate and a forest path, you will find a small creek. Some spots are very shallow and others have pockets of waist deep areas. You will need to use the convenient rope to help you up and down the bank to access the creek. It's beautiful there. A bundle of wood lasted us two days. Susan is such a kind host. All our bedding was soaked one night and she offered to toss our things in her dryer. There's a rudimentary heated shower near the barn and outlets there if you need to charge anything. Dollar General is a few miles away and several attractions are within an hour drive. We will continue to return to this farm for years to come. We love "the farm" and can't wait to go back.

Elizabeth and all the others at the farm were so welcoming and kind. I loved walking around to see all the animals! the outdoor kitchen is a great addition, and was nice to get away from the rv to cook for a bit. Communicating with Elizabeth was so smooth and helpful!

This place was magical! We had so much fun and loved all the animals and beautiful nature. Creek was an added bonus. It was great to be able to pack lightly as we had so much already there. Highly recommend!

We had an great time in the Sir Quincy Yurt. It was well appointed with an update of an extension cord which was much appreciated with the fan for this super hot weather. The yurt was clean and had everything we needed. Two moms and two daughters stayed comfortably. The animals were all very docile and fun to be around. We were close enough to town to take advantage of a great ice cream stand and some interesting antique shops too.

Really cute little farm with a lovely glen of trees to camp in. I was a little nervous about camping on my own in East STL but Arwen the livestock guardian kept me so safe. 🥲 I stayed there while passing through on a long road trip to a festival, and the time of year made it VERY hot and VERY buggy, but that's to be expected in a place so biodiverse. Would love to come back in nicer weather!

We needed to make some last minute changes and Elizabeth was very helpful and accommodating. It's a beautiful area and the fellowship was delightful! I found some amazing druzy quartz! We'll be back!!

Great spot! We enjoyed a quiet weekend and were so grateful for the shade. Nice neighborhood for walking, and other than some distant road noise, very quiet. We would definitely return or recommend to friends!

My friend and I had a great time here. The site was lovely and fairly secured from the rest of the others on property so it felt very private. The animals were so fun to brush and see. Everything we might need was thought through well and the host was very responsive!

Hummingbird Hollow was amazing! It was HOT when we stayed but the creek is a short walk from the campsites and is big enough that you’re not on top of other people camping too. We stayed in St Quincy. Sarah had a nice sized fan setup in that kept air flowing and really helped with the heat. There were two beds and both were comfortable. We really loved seeing, petting, and taking pictures with all of the animals. The vast majority were extremely friendly and the other few were shy but still “checked us out.” We will definitely be booking another stay here this summer!

The host, staff and other guest were all very friendly and helpful. The land was very peaceful and we took a lot of hikes. The animals on farm were wonderful too and we fell in love with them all. Thank you for such a wonderful visit.

As advertised. Quiet at night besides animal noises. Composting toilets were clean. Didn't use the kitchen or shower rooms. Camping sites not well maintained - lots of stick and plant growth but easy enough to work around/manage. A little hard to know what sites were available to set up camp at as we arrived after dark and they weren't well marked. Overall, good spot to stop and camp for a cross country trip.

We really enjoyed pitching our tent near the animals — there was something wonderfully calming about having the horses so close by. Both we and our children loved the experience. Unfortunately, we had to leave after just one night, so we didn’t get a chance to try the shower or the creek.

The tent camping at Elizabeth's Hawks Bluff Farm provides access to potable water, composting toilets, clean showers, and a camp kitchen. We stayed two nights weathering the rain and enjoying the rock hunting. If you like to explore nature, hunt rocks, sit around the fire, and chill, then this is a great place. Mark showed us where some good search areas are and provided an overview of what to look for. Much of the beauty you will find is above ground.

Earth, Wind and Solar Farm is 5 acres. You can book multiple sites if you want to stay as a group. We do our best to allow 1 reservation to stay on site at a time. If only 1 site is requested the others are then blocked to allow guests privacy during their stay. If another person requests to stay and it is booked, we will check with the current reservation for approval. We also allow groups to book and camp together if needed (use both rv pads, or tent camp). We do offer 50amp and 30amp power options (2 different RV parking sites). Some people have commented that our driveway entrance seems narrow for larger rigs (Class A's and 5th wheels). We've had 53' long rigs (5th wheels)and 45' (Class A's) pull in and get parked with no issues. You will need to be able to back into a spot for either 50a or 30a service. We do have additional parking available for extra vehicles. If you have a tow vehicle/toad, you will need to detach prior to arrival. There are 2 trucks stops less than 5 miles away (TA and Pilot) or there is a park with a large parking area off of David Hoekel Parkway you can utilize. We do offer 20amp power and extension cord for tent campers (either in our tent or can be used in your own tent. Free cold showers available. A bundle of firewood is now included for use in provided fire pits in needed/requested. Outdoor Hot showers available at a charge of $5/person. This includes the use of propane and a portable hot water heater. Wi-Fi is available during your stay. Will provide network name and password in confirmation email. 3 firepits are available for use (firewood can be purchased). Easy access to our place via Hwy 70 (take the David Hoekel Parkway Exit). We are 5 miles from Wentzville which offers a Walmart, Target, Sams Club, Lowes, Home Depot, multiple grocery stores, Rural King, Charlies and multiple restaurants. We have a stocked pond with catfish, bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass, black crappie, carp and turtles. There is a Windmill that aerates the pond (do not climb on it). You can fish the pond must practice CPR (catch photo release). Or you can feed the pond fish & feed out chickens. We will provide the fish food and chicken treats. There is plenty of wildlife (deer, fox, raccoons, armadillo's, birds, etc.). Deer will walk by the pond and driveway a couple of times a day. We also have a group of free-range chickens and French guineas (eggs may be available during your stay). There are bike trails in the area, paved roads you can ride on to explore, wineries nearby, a petting zoo and pumpkin patch. Things to do nearby: Horsehoe Hall of Fame, Big Joels Safari, Multiple wineries in Wright City/Augusta/Defiance, Wacky Warriors Paintball, Busch Wildlife, Katy Trail, Pumpkin Patches and so much more.
