We have two private sites, a primitive campsite directly on the Lake of the Ozarks, and a RV spot with full hook-ups (water, 50 amp AC, and sewer). The two sites are separated from each other, but both have access to the lake, including kayaks, a canoe, a paddleboat, excellent fishing, a boat-ramp, floating dock and a one-mile perimeter nature/hiking trail.
*** NOTE *** From January until early May, the lake level is dropped about five (5) feet, so boating and fishing access range from difficult to impossible (though, arrowhead hunting is a fun activity you might enjoy during the low water months!).
Primative Campsite - A private 1.5 acre campsite with a firepit (and plenty of wood to burn in it) and direct access to the Lake of the Ozarks. Amenities and features of the campsite include: a private camp toilet with a door and a concrete pad, picnic table on a gravel pad with an umbrella, a fully equipped cornhole game, fishing pole holders, a garbage can and three (3) level wood tent platforms.
RV site - the RV site also has a picnic table with umbrella, a garbage can and a fully equipped cornhole game. Nearby, the RV site also has access to a very nice private pit toilet, a gazebo with lights and an electrical outlet, and a firepit stocked with firewood.

Located only 50 miles SE of Kansas City, MO! We have woods and pasture with Settle's Ford Wildlife area (fishing and hiking available) 1/4 mile away. Camping is primitive with only an outhouse and no shower facilities. There are MANY thorn trees, so hikers must have proper footwear. Fire ring, wood and a grate for cooking are provided. Livestock encounters are also available with owners in attendance. All proceeds are put back in the farm to care for the animals and the land. Parking area is at the end of the driveway and a cart is provided to take your gear across the bridge. We love kids and will provide lawn darts or any other games we have available if requested. This peaceful countryside cabin has a nice little lake just right for fishing just steps from the front door from which folks have caught catfish, bluegill, crappie, and bass. The Appleton City Lake does not allow swimming. It does not allow boats with motors. However, you could bring a kayak if you wanted. We have a community fire pit and picnic tables too. The grill is electric with pellets. We provide firewood for the pit and pellets for the grill.

We are a little over one mile down a level gravel road and just 3.5 miles total from the small town of Appleton City where we have a little restaurant, Caseys, a very nice little grocery store (closes 7 pm), coffee house (mon-sat 8 am-11 am), and Dollar General (closes 9 pm). I live nearby on the property and am available to greet you when you arrive.
Other things to note
Appleton City is a small town. If you are coming in late, you may want to stop on the way to pick up food. We have a few stores in town, but some folks are caught off guard to find out the stores close early. But Caseys has sandwiches and assorted quick items and is open until 11 pm.

The property was great the cabin was awesome super cute the entire lot was well managed lots of room to move around nice fire pit nice amenities bathroom was a little sketchy but still work nice you need to give better warning of road conditions when going back definitely need a off-road vehicle truck SUV etc. if it's rained at all definitely suggesting four-wheel drive but all in all great experience definitely will be back

This campground is so peaceful and quiet. you are sitting on top of a hill, beautiful surroundings. You can walk down to the Niangua river and fish. You are close to the Lake of the Ozarks and Ha Ha Tonka State park. It is clean, full hook ups, trash dumpster. You will love the open space, and privacy you have.

This was our first Hipcamp and we couldn’t have picked a better place to try it. Dwight and his wife were the perfect hosts and gave us free choice to pick a site. Before heading to the Moore Expo, Dwight treated us to a wine tasting and we can recommend the wines and meads that they sell.
It’s a peaceful campground even though a road runs along one side. It is a sloped died but has a level area along the tree line at the bottom.
We have been looking for a campground close to Springfield and this will definitely be our go to from now on

Nice spot to cam. We stayed for 2 nights only one other person on site. Utilized shower house, good hot water, everything works as it should. Pay attention to the directions for roads due to several low water crossings if you take grapevine road. Site locations were flat with thick gravel layer.

Really nice site and well-described in other reviews and by Jack. The camping area is on a slight incline, but not bad. A few essential cooking items - two grill grates, a Dutch oven and large skillet with plenty of rocks around the fire pit to set up as you like. Jack was kind enough to text us offering answers to questions.
The trek down to the river is pretty steep and rocky, but not too long. The courtesy railing is helpful but some is detaching from the posts, so watch out where you put weight on it. The trip up is more taxing. I'd recommend staging some things at the base of the trail to the waterfront. There's enough elevation at the base of the trail and it's back far enough you could stage gear without having to worry too much about people seeing it. Critters might visit if you store food or scented bait. We had the pleasure of hiking up and down during and after moderate rain and it wasn't much more slippery nor was there a lot of water taking that path. That could change seasonally.
The path to the canoe is about a couple hundred feet southward. Most of the water in the are is shallow at around two to three feet, with some deeper pools around the rock bar just south of the canoe and more south of that. A couple bigger fish there. To the north near the island it gets shallower and the water moves faster. We didn't go any further north past the island.
The canoe comes with a paddle and several life jackets. Be sure to check them for spiders and other critters.

Enjoyed my tent camping and canoeing weekend stay from site 12. This Hipcamp was well appointed with a picnic table, fire ring and a conveniently located indoor bathroom with flush toilet, shower and outdoor sink. On the tent sites there was room for privacy and flat ground located high on a high ridge that provided both a scenic view and nice breeze. Communication prior to arriving with the property owner and directions were helpful. Access to the Niangua River was very convenient as the tunnel dam entry point is about one mile away.

Easy to maneuver our 35 ft motorhome while towing our Jeep. Was a great place to stay, coming and going back and forth to our grandson's baseball tournament just 10 minutes away. Quiet campground in March. Dirt road for a few miles and whistle bridge to cross to get to the campground, which were not a problem at all for us. Satellite friendly. 2- bars for Verizon service but AT&T service was good.

Dwight was very responsive to all of my communication prior to arriving. We arrived late at night, but it wasn’t an issue. The campsite had plenty of space. Dwight checked in with us before we left and we had a nice chat. While we didn’t stay long enough to enjoy all the amenities, I would absolutely go back for a longer stay.
