We have two private sites, a primitive campsite directly on the Lake of the Ozarks, and a RV spot with full hook-ups (water, 50 amp AC, and sewer). The two sites are separated from each other, but both have access to the lake, including kayaks, a canoe, a paddleboat, excellent fishing, a boat-ramp, floating dock and a one-mile perimeter nature/hiking trail.
*** NOTE *** From January until early May, the lake level is dropped about five (5) feet, so boating and fishing access range from difficult to impossible (though, arrowhead hunting is a fun activity you might enjoy during the low water months!).
Primative Campsite - A private 1.5 acre campsite with a firepit (and plenty of wood to burn in it) and direct access to the Lake of the Ozarks. Amenities and features of the campsite include: a private camp toilet with a door and a concrete pad, picnic table on a gravel pad with an umbrella, a fully equipped cornhole game, fishing pole holders, a garbage can, three (3) level wood tent platforms, and even a big swing set!
RV site - the RV site also has a picnic table with umbrella, a garbage can and a fully equipped cornhole game. Nearby, the RV site also has access to a very nice private pit toilet, a gazebo with lights and an electrical outlet, and a firepit stocked with firewood.

Located only 50 miles SE of Kansas City, MO! We have woods and pasture with Settle's Ford Wildlife area (fishing and hiking available) 1/4 mile away. Camping is primitive with only an outhouse and no shower facilities. There are MANY thorn trees, so hikers must have proper footwear. Fire ring, wood and a grate for cooking are provided. Livestock encounters are also available with owners in attendance. All proceeds are put back in the farm to care for the animals and the land. Parking area is at the end of the driveway and a cart is provided to take your gear across the bridge. We love kids and will provide lawn darts or any other games we have available if requested. The space
Along with a well-appointed inside, we have chairs on the front porch for lake viewing and a grill for outdoor cooking too. There is also the Rustic Duck, a wonderful restaurant and art gallery, just a short walk away. Enjoy our little lake! This peaceful countryside cabin has a nice little lake just right for fishing just steps from the front door from which folks have caught catfish, bluegill, crappie, and bass. The Appleton City Lake does not allow swimming. It does not allow boats with motors. However, you could bring a kayak if you wanted. We have a community fire pit and picnic tables too. The grill is electric with pellets. We provide firewood for the pit and pellets for the grill.

We are a little over one mile down a level gravel road and just 3.5 miles total from the small town of Appleton City where we have a little restaurant, Caseys, a very nice little grocery store (closes 7 pm), coffee house (mon-sat 8 am-11 am), and Dollar General (closes 9 pm). I live nearby on the property and am available to greet you when you arrive.
Other things to note
Appleton City is a small town. If you are coming in late, you may want to stop on the way to pick up food. We have a few stores in town, but some folks are caught off guard to find out the stores close early. But Caseys has sandwiches and assorted quick items and is open until 11 pm.

Ozarks 38 Special was seriously such a vibe! My 9-year-old daughter, our 2½-year-old pup, and I had the best time. From swimming in the infinity pool and jumping in the lake right off the dock to grilling with our neighbors, it was the perfect little getaway.
What really made it special was the atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had this relaxed, laid-back lake energy that made it easy to forget about everything else and just enjoy the moment. We laughed, swam, relaxed, met some great people, and made memories that my daughter and I will definitely remember.
If you’re looking for somewhere that feels fun, comfortable, family-friendly, and like your own little lake community, Ozarks 38 Special is definitely worth checking out. We came home already talking about going back! ❤️🌊☀️🐾

We had such a wonderful weekend camping here! The hosts were absolutely great—so friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The location was beautiful and peaceful, and there were so many great amenities to enjoy. It was the perfect place to spend a weekend with family and friends, make memories, and relax. We went with the intention to stay two nights. We enjoyed the atmosphere and all the friendly people and ended up staying an extra night. We enjoyed karaoke Kelly and the pool. It was very nice and clean the entire time. The campground was well kept, and in a nice quiet location. We do have plans on going back again in the future.

We had a great stay at 38 Special. The resort is very well maintained, quiet, and has beautiful views of the lake. The sites are nicely set up with plenty of room to relax outside, and the overall property has a more upscale feel than a typical RV campground. The location was also great for exploring the Lake of the Ozarks while still having a peaceful place to come back to. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to D'Ranch at Clearwater
The cabin was so cozy and peaceful. It is in a beautiful spot and I loved taking an early morning kayak paddle. The farm is beautiful. I wish I could have stayed longer. Tracey is an amazing host, friendly and gracious. I made a mistake booking and she was so kind and patient helping me sort it out. She really goes above and beyond making sure everything is clean and her guests have everything they need.

It was just me and my dog that stayed on Michael’s property and we had the absolute best time. Michael welcomed us and gave us a rundown of the property and was very welcoming and kind. The property itself is absolutely pristine, I felt the love and care that has been put in there with I’m sure no shortage of laborious hours. We were just driving through so we only stayed one night, but I am hoping to return again! It was a 100 degree day, but relaxing in the lake right on site, I never even thought about the heat. There are perfect trees for setting up a hammock and I probably enjoyed that the most! No shortage of stars to see on a clear night, I would absolutely recommend to anyone.

We loved our stay at 38 special! Great location and the sites and facilities are SOOOO nice. Clean and level. The table, chairs, and Solo stove are high quality nice furniture. Most sites are right on the water with others just feet away so the view is always good. We really enjoyed the swim beach and dock and the pool is great. Everyone there is super nice as well. We are looking forward to going back!
