The pasture is quite visible from Old Route 66, nearly adjoining it. Therefore people traveling “the Mother Road” find it convenient to stay with us. Grass is the best forage for horses, especially older ones, so we take care of our pastures, making for beautiful scenery for campers, too. Plus the entire back mile is bordered by old forest. And there is a swimming hole not a half mile away. This is a quiet and private site, bordered by a neighbor's old forest on back, other neighbor's cattle pasture on side, and you're in one of the pastures used by the Horse Sanctuary. (You are camping about 1/4 mile, more or less, from our house.) We regularly see coyote, wild turkeys, deer, fireflies, and the like.   We are just 1/2 mile off Old Route 66, therefore there are quirky little museums and great restaurants (for such a rural area!).   Plus we are only about an hour's drive from Branson. MO. which is a known tourist attraction.

We have two private sites, a primitive campsite directly on the Lake of the Ozarks, and a RV spot with full hook-ups (water, 50 amp AC, and sewer). The two sites are separated from each other, but both have access to the lake, including kayaks, a canoe, a paddleboat, excellent fishing, a boat-ramp, floating dock and a one-mile perimeter nature/hiking trail. *** NOTE *** From January until early May, the lake level is dropped about five (5) feet, so boating and fishing access range from difficult to impossible (though, arrowhead hunting is a fun activity you might enjoy during the low water months!). Primative Campsite - A private 1.5 acre campsite with a firepit (and plenty of wood to burn in it) and direct access to the Lake of the Ozarks. Amenities and features of the campsite include: a private camp toilet with a door and a concrete pad, picnic table on a gravel pad with an umbrella, a fully equipped cornhole game, fishing pole holders, a garbage can, three (3) level wood tent platforms, and even a big swing set! Weekend Trip to Dogwood Campsite At Stockton Lake

We loved the spot. Location is just a short drive to the lake, so if you want to be right on the water this may not be for you. However, if you value privacy and getting away from the parking lot style RV sites where you are right on top of each other I’d highly recommend. We have a young lab who still likes to bark at things so having a private place that has space for him to run is always a priority. Jennifer was responsive to all questions and has everything you need. Proximity to the highway is not an issue. The site is far enough away the road noise is insignificant and traffic dwindles significantly at night, not that it’s bad in the first place.

Mutton Creek's first campers of 2022 enjoyed the secluded and peaceful site and said the location was perfect for stargazing.

Phil and Jan made us feel like family. We actually stayed in Spot 4 because it has the most shade. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, as well as only being 15 minutes away from the lake. Make sure your fresh water tank is full because currently they only offer electricity at the sites. There is a dump station onsite, so you can drain your tanks when you need to. Overall, we have a pleasant stay and will stay there again in the future.

We had a great time. Sites are electric only but a convenient dump station. We loved looking out over the vineyard. At the time we were the only guests at the park. Jane opened the tasting room and gave us a tasting of some of their wines. We had a blast. The only negative to us was that the access road was dirt for a couple miles. Thanks for a great stay.

Angie was a great host! The campsite was easy to access. We arrived late at night and had an easy time setting up. It was a bit windy, but that's Kansas for you. The firepit and pond was nice, though we didn't use either. The horse was friendly and the dogs were cool. We woke up both mornings to the sound of roosters. Off to the noth is either a landing strip or power windmills, the red lights at night looked pretty awesome. With the beautiful views and how peacful it was, this place is highly recommended!
