Located at the confluence of the Meramec River and Labarque Creek, my place (Matt's Place) is a ridge above a bottomland bowl of sorts. The old iron truss bridge here is likely built in 1910 and it has a survey marker from 1932. The creek has a nice little swimming hole, and a beach that is sometimes sand, sometimes, gravel, and sometimes a mix of both with some silt or even mud after a storm. It's peaceful down there to explore in the creek, wade while looking outward to an opening into the Meramec River. It's also fun to stand just at the mouth of the creek in the Meramec River. It's an awesome view upstream or downstream of tree lined banks, rock bluffs, and every now and then, passing boats, canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks. The old iron truss bridge hovers above the meeting of two waters. The water is cool and clean. Some fifty species of fish have been recorded in this creek, the most in all of Jefferson County and St Louis County. The bottomland has two levels, the lower bottoms down by the creek and the upper bottoms about a hundred feet from the creek. The upper bottoms has a clearing like a meadow with mowed grass. My favorite things to do here include gazing up at a cottonwood tree that must be sixty feet tall. It's leaves in a breeze are like a thousand hands waving hello. The bottomland meadow offers just enough sky to see bats dance in the dusk air between the trees, then fireflies as it gets darker yet. Up top is where I live. Just five miles off HWY 44 and HWY 109, at Eureka, MO, (30 minutes west of downtown St Louis, 18 minutes from Six Flags) this place sits on a ridge with great views above the Meramec River.

You will pass it, and the private parking, on Dillard Mill Rd on your drive into Pine Valley We may or may not be on the premise during individual rentals. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Other things to note While this space provides most utilities and amenities you'd find at your home, it is important to note it is still a camping-style getaway. We do our best to treat the area, but you will encounter insects. AT&T has limited cell phone reception in the area, Sprint is very spotty, and Verizon is pretty much unavailable for service. We provide the best free wifi available to help with communication back to the real world, but it is rather slow. The best wifi reception is near the General Store/Courtyard. We try and keep the area well maintained. You may see ATVs/tractors on our property and on the gravel road. Pets are welcome for an extra $50 per stay. Please note our dogs may be on the property. They are friendly and well-behaved, although sometimes curious. Other guests may have no-leash pets as well. Park right next to your glamper. Arrive anytime after 4pm, just give us an eta to know when to expect you. If your glamper is not ready upon your arrival, feel free to explore our farm, visit Dillard Mill or head down to the Huzzah while we make it ready for your stay. Walking through the trails was fun. We can’t wait to come back in the spring. The Hobbit Hut was nice but smaller than we thought. The fire pit and animals were great for the kids. We went in early winter with some rain and still had a great time.

3 nights at Ozarks Piney Bend Riverfront

The view of the cabin was absolutely breath taking. The cabin overlooks the beautiful big piney river and outlooks large rocks and Missouri hills. We stayed here from 10/23-10/26 so the vibrant fall leaves painted the backdrop. Even just sitting on the patio drinking coffee was very tranquil. We could not kayak due to the weather since it was raining on and off during our stay. Lacy was so kind to give us a full refund and a discount code for next time! Outside the cabin there is a huge fire pit where we roasted marshmallows and stargazed. We recommend buying some fire wood from Lacey and utilizing the bonfire grill and regular grill. Lacey offers so many amenities that made home cooking meals super easy and enjoyable. We made some really amazing meals that we enjoyed by candlelight on the picnic table. The aesthetic of the cabin was 10/10 and super hippie/boho and cozy. Which we absolutely loved! Our dogs had a wonderful time playing fetch outside the cabin. One of the best parts was taking a hot shower while it was chilly outside. This was the perfect and most romantic trip for my boyfriend and I to celebrate his 30th birthday. It is our tradition to go Glamping for our birthdays. We’ve been to a few different airbnbs but we both agreed that this has been our fav.Lastly but most importantly, Lacey was an extremely hospitable host, really quick to answer any questions I had and went out of her way to accommodate us several times. Thank you so much Lacey we will be back:)

It was close to everything we wanted to see and do for a short weekend. The site was clean and the bed was super comfy. The night got cool so we were thankful for the heated bed. Milo Farm was exactly what I needed — a place to connect with nature, the trees, water, and the sacred land. The trails are wide, well cared for, and clearly marked, with lots of creative and thoughtful touches that brought smiles, surprise, and wonder along the way. The donkeys and goats were a delight and so heartwarming to watch. I stayed in the Hobbit Hut, which I loved for its cozy feel and location near the Frog Pond. A highlight was spotting a tiny frog, about the size of a quarter — something I haven’t seen in decades. The whole experience felt magical. What made my stay even more special were the meaningful conversations I had with Loni and the staff/WWOOFers, whose deep respect for the land and life shines through everything they do. I left Milo with renewed hope for the Earth and humanity. Truly a memorable and inspiring stay — I highly recommend it for anyone seeking peace, connection, and a little wonder.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at Piney Bend River Cabin! From the very beginning, Lacey was the most accommodating, responsive, and kind host. She put in extra effort to organize an extended Piney River float— it was the highlight of the visit! The cabin itself was just precious. It was cozy, spotless, and had more amenities than any rental I’ve ever stayed in—fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and then some. You can tell so much thought and care went into making the space welcoming and comfortable. The setting was gorgeous—right on the river with a peaceful, low-key vibe that made it the perfect place to relax and recharge. The drive up the hill to the cabin looked a little intimidating at first, but it was easily doable in my AWD Forester. Just give it some gas :) Between the amazing cabin, the beautiful location, and Lacey’s incredible hospitality, this trip couldn’t have been better. I would recommend Piney Bend River Cabin to anyone looking for a chill and secluded adventure. I can’t wait to come back! P.s. the neighbors are all friendly, including Julio, the Llama that arrived a few doors down.

What went well... Everything! The cabin was just what we needed. The property is lovely and I loved using the kayak on the cove. I saw Herons, ducks and other water birds and a few amphibians. They had a great bonfire on Saturday night and my wife and I really enjoyed talking with Tracey and Ted. All in all a great trip at a great site.

My kids and I had a great stay in the cabin. It is small but has everything you need to stay cool and comfortable. Quiet, secluded, close river access. Lacy was extremely helpful and communicated with me quickly to coordinate our stay. Lacey helped us with kayaks and a shuttle up the river so we could float back to the cabin. So nice to end a day on the river at your cabin without having to do anything else to get there. We will definitely be back!
