Great quiet relaxing location, with wildlife and the sound of the country. You will have the only camp site on the property. You can stay in the small camping cabin in comfort with your own bedding, or bring a sleeping bag. We have the twin bed in the loft, or use the futon on the main level. The cabin only has room for two adults unless you bring a camp pad to sleep on the floor, or squeeze in a child, but you have the comforts of an A/C , a Weber grill, mini fridge, microwave, and Electricity. Quiet former country farm site, with great wildlife viewing options with walking trails. Only 23 miles to DT St. Cloud and 7 Miles to the Walmart in Princeton for food or supplies. If a shower is desired the Kwik Trip in St Cloud, on Hwy 10 has showers. Just a half mile off Hwy 95 and 5 miles from the large Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, with trails and lots of wildlife. In the Fall expect to see a large amount of wildlife with many migrating birds come out of the refuge to feed. Expect to hear Pheasant's cackle in the AM, and see Sandhill Cranes and Geese fly over the camp site, or sitting in area fields. Enjoy time around a campfire with folding chairs and a picknick table, with plenty of free dry firewood in a storage rack.

How we ended up in Knife Lake Township on 81 acres of forested land. We began looking for land in late fall of 1996. After several months of searching, we happened upon a tiny newspaper ad for 81 acres of land described as "Beautiful, secluded, mature hardwoods, tall pines w/creek & beaver pond, many gd bldg sites & great hunting". We toured the property, covered in almost two feet of snow, on a snowmobile in January 1997 and fell in love with it. We have been stewards of this piece of land for 25 years and are still enamored of its beauty and diversity. We are lulled to sleep by the sounds of owls and bullfrogs and the distant yipping of coyotes. Spring through fall we are often awakened by the rattling, honking of sandhill cranes and a wide variety of bird songs. Besides deer and lots of small critters, we've seen bear, bobcat, rafters of turkeys, quail, grouse, pheasant, owls, hawks and eagles. The sky, on a clear night, is breathtaking. We have always visualized sharing the land with others, so come and immerse yourself in this bountiful space.

The Hamlet Lake Bunkhouse is located to the west of our home in its own secluded parcel next to the lake. The Camp on Hamlet Hill (closed for 2026) is to the north of our home, on a remote flat hill at the top of our property, on a hill over Cedar brook. with 300-acre, (private) Hamlet Lake in front, and the wide portion of the 20-mile Cedar brook in the back. We are a large "homesteading" family, with chickens, ducks, and a garden. The campsite is a private 1/2 acre clearing, surrounded by woods with a firepit, grill, cooking utensils, and an outhouse. (Tents are available for a small additional cost). There is an outdoor water pump below the hill, near which guests can view our fenced-in animals. Guests can also access the waterfront and beach in front, with the use of the swim raft, lily pad, fishing dock, canoe, kayak, and paddle boards included. At nearly 100 feet deep, Hamlet lake also boasts excellent fishing. Our home is located 6 miles from Crosby, with the world-class Cuyuna Lakes 50-mile mountain bike trail system. We are offering the opportunity to stay on the back hill of our ten-acre rural property. You can go for walks around the pasture on our mowed trail or just sit and enjoy the beautiful Minnesota views. The site is on a gravel road and you cannot see our house from where the bus is parked. While you can see the neighbor's house, it is still very dark at night and excellent for stargazing. The bus will be disabled for guests; it will not start or move. While there are electric fans, AC, and a TV with DVD player, there is no electricity available (bring your own generator if you want). There is a cassette toilet with instructions.

Weekend Trip to Bundo's Cabin

Found this cabin on a whim and booked it because of the positive reviews/photos. It turned out to be even better than imagined. Expect lovely views, tranquility, birdsong, and lots of fireflies (if you go in the summer). My boyfriend and I had a fabulous stay, and we’re already talking about coming back. The cabin was very clean and cozy, secluded and rustic enough to feel like glamorous camping, and was obviously well cared for. Thank you, Jon!

I spent the best 2 nights at Gabeshiwin and looking forward to going back. This review is mostly going to be about the hosts. Kevin and Donna are amazing. I had booked a tipi and when the trip was approaching rain was in the forecast so they made last minute arrangements to keep me dry. Kevin was fast end efficient with communication and he couldn't have done more to accommodate my needs. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained. If you take the time to look around you will find details that make your stay even more special. When the skies cleared I was able to share a bon fire with the Kevin and Donna which was the cherry on the top of my sundae for my stay!

I would rate this place a 4.8/5 Nice place. Clean and with necessary appliances in good working condition. Grill for barbecue. WiFi was enough to support Airplay. Bunkbed top bunk is a bit rickety, but bottom bunk was fine. Good shower. TV is sometimes hard to hear due to small internal speakers, but lots to do other than TV nearby. River access is shallow but deeper water is very close. Fishing was pretty good too but be prepared for snags (heavy braided line, top water baits, swim baits, recommended). There is an absolute monster pike nearby that is a joy to water breech the water as it chases prey. Very pretty scene overall.

Our kids (7,6,3) loved staying at “the Farm” as they would call it! They loved wondering “where the cat was”, playing with legos, exploring outside and eating s’mores by the campfire, swinging on the swings, and meeting the farm animals- and feeding a baby lamb. They were on cloud 9! Such a lovely place to stay. The barn layout was so well planned out. Hannah is so knowledgeable and gave a very educational tour of her farm. We loved our stay at the camper this last weekend. We had wonderful pairie views. The owners were great and worked with us when we left an item behind. Highly recommend!

Great hosts. Lovely area to explore. The location was private and had plenty of accommodations beyond what was even needed. This would be an excellent stay for an MTB group.

Weekend Trip to The Camps at the Vineyards

The A-frame was so cute, right on the water, and offered beautiful views. The host, Carl, was incredibly gracious and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We loved the delicious pizza and the fantastic conversation. Highly recommend this spot!

Weekend Trip to Alpha and Omega Pizza Farm

I fear writing an honest review will cause me to never get a reservation again because it will be too popular! Everything stood out, from the customer service, to the tidyness and BEAUTY of the well cared for and loved land and animals! Its the easiest camping/glamping you can do... WITH ANIMALS! And they support local art and foods so major bonus if you can see a show and eat an outstanding pizza! Can't wait to come back.
