The property was originally owned by a family name Nichols (thus the name of the lake). It was handed down to the sons who each owned half the property. The driveway down the middle of property that leads to the lake was originally a fence line that divided the two pieces of property. The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our totally private fresh water lake. Take your boat out for a day of fishing or just chill next to the fire. Sites are approximately 50 feet from each other. This is a great spot off the beaten path. A hidden gem. Scott and his wife were super welcoming on their property and we're able to help with anything we needed. Deer walked thru the camp and property. Lovely walking path thru the property as well. Very welcoming. We will definitely be back soon.

Great spot. We were the only cabin, so lots of privacy and the bathroom to ourselves. We rented a canoe and purchased firewood, they were ready and waiting upon our arrival. Lake was great to canoe around. Trail loop was short and sweet, but a nice walk through the woods. Seeing the horse get let out in the afternoon was really nice.

Weekend Trip to Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

This was our first time using Hipcamp and it was a great experience. Place looks just like the pictures, beautiful and cozy. Far away from town to feel like you've gotten away but close enough that you can run and grab something at walmart or get a bite to eat if you don't feel like cooking. Scott was a great host, we were having a hard time getting our fire going since it had been raining a few days before. He came to our rescue and we sat and enjoyed chatting for the evening. Inside the camper was a cute little smore set up that we took advantage of. It was clean and spacious. You could tell it's been taken great care of. Will definitely be back!

We had an absolute blast! Scott and Christine were extremely accommodating hosts. The camper was stocked and clean, the campsite was well lit and so nice and quiet. We saw deer and turkey in the mornings, sipping coffee by the fire. They have all the tools and utensils you may need for cooking either in the kitchen or on the fire. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning. Thank you!

We stayed in Penguin Palace. The cabin and campsite were clean and as expected. We enjoyed canoeing on the lake, relaxing by the fire pit, and peach picking nearby. I would recommend this place for a nice outdoor weekend!

Weekend Trip to Black River Trails Campground

This is a friendly and well-managed campground with flush toilets and a sink nearby, easy electrical hookup, and even two clean - and free - showers! The sites were about half the size of what we’re used to, so I’d consider a premium site for next time.

The extra site is on the other side of the wood stacks.

Following my review on the main campsite, this one was a great addition for my larger group. Scott helped us back in our pop-up camper. There’s a few different ways to park your camper if it is similar to our pop-up. The extra site has its own picnic table and fire pit. Close enough to the main site to feel like you’re camping together, but far enough to feel private as well. Full hook-ups were available as stated in the listing. Would definitely recommend to larger groups!

3 nights at Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

Scott and Christine are very friendly and welcoming. They made sure we were all settled in and even helped us back in the pop-up camper to the extra campsite. So honored to be the first group to use the extra site! My group included 7 adults and 1 dog. We had a great time relaxing, playing games, and making some amazing food over the fire! The campsites felt very private and perfect for camping. The weekend we stayed was hot and humid, but the AC in the camper felt amazing. The camper was spacious and had just about everything you need. There’s a nice trail that was perfect for walking the dog. Thank you Scott and Christine for being amazing hosts and we loved getting to know you! We would love to stay again!

We had a great time! Our group was five families, 10 adults and 6 young kids. We booked both tent sites and basically sprawled out all around the lake access. The kids bounced between the playset and the lake and it was really nice to be able to see the kids from the tent area. We also appreciated being able to shower and collect potable water. The host was very helpful and everyone we interacted with on the property was lovely.

this is the cutest, calmest place we have ever stayed at. we will be back, In hopes that we can book other ones with our friends too! perfect for a quick get away, close to the beach but far enough away to feel like youre in the woods away from everything ! they were clean and equipped with everything you need.
