Weekend Trip to Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

My family and I had an amazing weekend at Scott’s camper, they have everything set up to get you started for a great family camping trip. We wanted a quick easy and relaxing weekend and that’s exactly what we got. He even came down to the camper to introduce himself and make sure we were settled in, they allowed our dogs to explore and it was all around a great experience. He started us off with lots off wood and even showed us how to get the fire going (beginner here) His camper was well maintained and clean. He even had a table to set up by the fire, a fan, shampoo and games! At night time I was able to log into my Netflix account and unwind on one of 3 tvs the camper has to offer. The surroundings were peaceful, and quiet. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to 2Chicks And A Farm

This was a perfect overnight trip and can't wait to come back! The tent, camp beds, and chairs were super comfortable. But Julie really creates something special with her extra touches. We added on the extras- dinner and breakfast. I enjoy cooking over a fire but a three course meal? Delicious!! Dessert was perfect with hot little fruit pies with ice cream! The animals were fun. We made bestie with a little calico kitty who spent the evening and morning with us. I got to visit the baby goats, and the chickens made the rounds chaperoned by their rooster. And when our car battery was dead, we even got a jump. Full service. Everyone we met was friendlyand welcoming. Yay!

A wonderful stay enjoyed by us and our two dogs. A rare warm weekend in March, so the cabin stayed cozy with ambient temperature. Very quiet surroundings, comfortable and easy to enjoy a campfire outdoors, a nice food prep area indoors. Definitely the most immaculate, comfortable outhouse port-a-john I've ever seen! Camp is a short drive to hike in Muskegon State Park and visit downtown. Ed's a very thoughtful and friendly host!

We loved our stay at Dalton Traders Grand Cabin. Peaceful and quiet. Weather was unseasonably warm so we did not need the woodstove. Had some lovely rain showers overnight which made the cabin even more cozy. Very private with the cleanest porta potty I've ever seen. Ed was responsive and very welcoming. Cabin was clean and well organized. Close to downtown Muskegon and the state park where we found some excellent hiking opportunities. We will definitely be back next winter for some snow sports!

I couldn’t have been happier with my stay, like a lot of the other reviews said Ed was an incredibly friendly warm and helpful guy. The cabin was very private. I couldn’t see anything or anyone which was perfect. It’s, fairly primitive, but with just the right touches to make you feel comfortable. The fire pit was great, plenty of wood. The wood-burning stove was definitely one of my favorite parts. I’ve never felt so cozy.! Will definitely be coming back!

This was such a sweet little cabin. It had beautiful craftsmanship and had a great wood burning stove. We enjoyed cooking outside over the fit pit. They also had a Coleman inside where we made our coffee in the morning. Ed provided snow shoes to explore the property. The location is nice because it is quiet but close enough to Muskegon state park to have a nice adventure. I highly recommend Dalton cabin. Ed was very friendly and a great host.

We loved spending a couple of winter nights in a dome for the first time! It was a little cozy getaway in this frigid winter. The hosts were communicative and kind. A few kinks to work out as this is still their first year in operation, but we highly recommend!

1 night at DaltonTraders Base Camp-Grand Cabin

I’ve just stayed at the Dalton Grand Cabin hosted by Ed and Pat. I recommend this stay to anyone who enjoys a private and peaceful place in the woods. Surrounded by tall and majestic oaks and beech trees, this little cabin had everything I needed for my short stay. I would have definitely stayed longer, but it’s a high demand place, and for good reason! Ed met me upon arrival and showed me the cabin and grounds, and he showed me how to work the lovely efficient wood stove in the corner. Plenty of wood was provided as were some nice amenities. The location is also very convenient to the Muskegon/West Michigan area, and I had a great time checking out the Lakeshore and the winter recreation park nearby. Weekend Trip to DaltonTraders Base Camp-Grand Cabin

Ed & Pat are absolute gems. I thought I might be a bit earlier than planned & they were willing to work with me and communicated with me to make sure everything was on track. The cabin is cozy, clean, charming, warm, and honestly just perfect. My dog never wanted to come in though; he loved running around in the snow. Ed explained how everything worked and on my second day I was able to keep my fire alive in the wonderful wood burning stove. I watched a deer eat corn off a tree trunk right outside the cabin. There are plenty of stores, gas stations and food spots on the way and nearby, but not too close. You really do have privacy & plenty of woods and quiet to love. It’s a perfect place to unwind, read a book by oil lamp and fire, and feel human again! I will be back for sure!

Wow! This is the kind of spot that hipcamp was made for. Delightful and cozy with plenty of land to walk on, plenty of wood for the stove to keep cozy, the most clean and welcoming portapotty you’ve ever seen in your life…near a cute little town to boot! I was even treated to some homemade peanut brittle that made me a big hit back home. I stopped here on my trip back to Minnesota for Christmas, and I’m so glad I did! The hosts were incredibly flexible and understanding and made sure I was properly settled when I got in. Absolutely worth the 2 hour detour for me and I hope to return sometime!

Being a dry site you have to bring your own camp restroom equipment. We are close to several incredible beaches, bike trails, kayaking, Jack Nicholas golf course and all of this is a 7 minute drive away! While we have dry camping only, we have picnic tables, fire rings, a fresh filtered drinking water filling station on property. Please be responsible, keeping noise and driving speeds down for other guests. There are many brew pubs and great places to eat that are all in 7 miles away. The average site size is 50' x 24'. For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres. 15 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites are located. Each one has a fire ring and wooden picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and and brush / wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and wooden picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. Then another in the middle of the pasture, one for sun lovers and one for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and wooden picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

This property is at the end of a private road and has three adjoining waterfront parcels that have been in the family for decades that we fondly refer to as One Grand Place. Family still lives on one of the parcels but we are excited to be sharing the other 2 parcels with all of you. One parcel is our Premium RV site on a cement pad, parallel to the river and can accommodate 1 RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, pop up, Class C etc. NO Class A's allowed). 30/50/standard 110 Electric and water hookup. Pump out is available for a fee. The other adjacent parcel at the very far west end of the property is a large grassy area with 2 sites. Both have 30 and standard 110 electric, plus water. --1 Standard RV site can accommodate 1 RV (5th wheel, travel trailer, pop up, Class C etc. NO Class A's allowed). Or, can be used as a tent site IF the tent only site is already booked. Pump out is available for a fee. --1 Tent only site. To be booked first before the Standard RV site. However, both sites are next to each other with same view. There is plenty of room to set up games, fish, play with the kids or the dogs, etc. What's not to like? It is your very own exclusive home away from home. If you don't have an RV or a tent and want to still come and visit, no problem. Rent one of our RVs or rent our tent. PLEASE NOTE: We are not a commercial campground or a business. However, there are certain rules that must be adhered to per the agreement with our local township and our neighbors along our shared private road. Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and is surrounded by natural wetlands. Perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy the fresh air and picture perfect sunsets. Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few of the things to enjoy on the water. Bring your own boat, jet ski, kayak or rent from nearby establishments. One of many public boat launches is just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou County Park has a kayak specific boat launch. You can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore. If you are bringing your own boat, jet ski, kayak and have a separate trailer, parking of that trailer must be pre-authorized due to limited space. Please inquire. Hiking, biking and wildlife, bird/eagle watching are also in the area. Spring Lake, Lake Michigan, beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away. Holland is about 30 minutes south and also has a cute downtown, craft beers, and beaches. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 20 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is only 30 minutes North in Muskegon. There are also many wineries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan. And many blueberry farms around too. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit. You can be as active or as chill as you want to be.

Site #2 is a Tent Site (Great site for Hammock Camping, unlimited tents, 8 people max.). Site #3 is our double/group RV/Tent (2 Camper/ RV max.) site (16 people max.) You will be camping in the semi-wooded area at the back of the property. It is a really nice area to camp. Each site has a firepit and picnic table. We have about 2 miles of hiking trails on the property. We are in a great location to hike, paddle, bike, and explore SW Michigan. Nighttime is great for stargazing. We are 13 miles from downtown St. Joseph and 13 miles from downtown South Haven. We are located 1 1/2 hours from Chicago. Don't feel like exploring, then hang out at the campsite for the day. We are close to the SW Michigan Makers’ Trail (Wineries, Breweries, Distilleries). We are located 4 miles from a small beach (Hagar Park/Beach) on Lake Michigan (15 miles from the big beaches at St. Joseph and South Haven). We are 5 miles from the boat ramp on Paw Paw Lake. We are located just 2 miles off I-196 at Exit 7 (Hagar Shore Road). We are also only 20 miles from Sister Lakes. Dogs are allowed. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. About us: We have a 69 acre farm we bought back in 2019. We moved here from the Chicago area. (Tinley Park). We have 44 acres tillable and 16+ wooded acres. in back that we opened it up for camping. Retreat Center Campsites

The Retreat Campsites are situated on land owned by the Red Spirit Retreat Center. The beautiful wooded land is perfect for walking in. The stars are like brilliant diamonds, and in mid June the fireflies float up from the prairie into the trees by the hundreds. It is pretty quiet except for the birds and the bullfrogs and your own crackling campfire. In the spring the fruit trees can be seen blooming across the fields. Straw is grown on the neighbor's farm and cut and baled midsummer. The farm buildings are off in the distance but have gleaming white buildings and silver silos. Guests may walk wherever they like on trails or bushwhack through the forests of the Red Spirit Retreat Center. Each campsite is unique and pretty private. While you may see other campers you probably can't hear them as they are about half a city block away through the trees. Staying at the Country Dome Home is an amazing experience. Located on a hill at the top of the prairie, the view of farms and forests is spectacular. To enjoy the view, the front window is 8 feet tall and 11 feet wide. The 12 foot ceiling enlarges the room tremendously. There is an awesome feeling of spaciousness. On a warm day 8 foot wide by 3 foot high screens can be opened up to let and with the screen door to let breezes blow through. The solar fan then pulls the heat right out of the roof. Outside there is a patio sail providing shade. A lovely dinner can be cooked on a propane griddle while watching the view. Refurbished Jordan Brown Tamiami table and chairs and a chaise lounge provide comfortable seating. Deck chairs are out on the front deck as well. Sitting around the campfire is a great way to end the day. About 9 pm hundreds or thousands of fireflies slowly make their way to the tops of the huge trees and the stars start to twinkle as the sun sets. The birds, crickets, and bullfrogs gradually quiet down, lulling you to sleep in the most comfortable bed in the world. You feel at one with nature.. Stay at the dome in the fall or early spring and the wood stove will keep you toasty warm on chilly nights. Three rustic campsites with their own personalities are also on the land but hidden by trees. The Frog Pond Campsite is a in a sylvan glade next to the pond and creek, with parking immediately next to the campsite. The Edges and Deep Forest Campsites are both larger campsites that are located inside the forest near the Prairie. These sites are separated far enough apart to allow for a very private feeling. Each campsite has parking space very close by. All campsites have their own private composting toilets, fire pits, one bundle of wood, sanitary spray, toilet paper, and at least three gallons of water. At the Deer Blind more wood is available at the Deer Blind for $10 per bundle with Venmo or PayPal. There are two yoga mats, frisbees, bubbles, and a corn hole game for borrowing. You may request a one night stay, but it is dependent upon my availability to clean in between guests. We hope that our guests have a truly beautiful, quiet, and relaxing stay.

Pull off the blacktop onto the grassy drive running through the field and forest. The sites are just off of the road, and minutes from lots of local culture and recreation. We do have two sites available, but we'll only take one booking at a time. So, you'll have the area to yourself and your choice of campsites. Groups that add up to at least 8 people to the booking can use both sites. The clearing is about an acre and is surrounded by forest. Our home is next door, but you have your own drive.

This is a group camp site only, 20 person minimum. I want this space to be a place of peace and relaxing where you can be free to be yourselves. I feel it’s great for groups that want privacy for their own group without having to worry about other campers who may not like the same activities. It’s a small farm that has different crops planted on it in different years, there are 3 small ponds, one we use for swimming and entertaining. There are other kinds of fruit and vegetable farms nearby. We are in the heart of winery country and we are only 15 minutes from Lake Michigan and only minutes from several small inland all sports lakes. We also own a Farm Market and Flower Greenhouses. There is a large area if you have a group of campers we can accommodate more. We are constantly trying to update all the time and we do use it for our own parties and entertainment.

Flipside Acres

Heavily wooded forest with pine, maple, oak and birch. Undeveloped and quiet. The property is home to numerous bird species, deer, wild turkeys and squirrels. Occasional howls from distant coyotes and infrequent raccoons. The campsites are located on a hill dominated by tall pines overlooking the east facing property. Secluded, but only a 800 feet from the main residence. Only 1 1/2 miles P.J Hoffmaster's State Park and a 10 minutes ride to Grand Haven State Park/Lake Michigan. Campsites are rustic but we provide camp toilets, a picnic table and a waste container. Fresh water is available at the barn. We also provide a shelter with picnic tables and a charcoal park grille. A large community fire pit is available with wood provided for a small cost by the owners.
