Each day we feel blessed to live in an idyllic, peaceful spot and we would like to share the serenity we've found here. We are less than a mile off Old 27, close to 127 and 5 miles to I-69 DeWitt Exit. Drop by and stay for a night on your way to your final destination or relax and stay for a few days, Our first site is open for tent or RV. Our new heated barn has a flush-toilet, sink, shower, washer and dryer. Less than a mile down the road is our local tavern with good, affordable food and welcoming vibe. Our home sits in the middle of a large clover lawn surrounded by woods, a pond and low-land meadow with high grass and wildflowers. Walking trails are cut through the woods and meadow providing ability to see deer, rabbits, dragonflies, butterflies, birds, cranes, blue and green heron and native flowers. We sometimes see raccoons, eagle, hawk, wood peckers, coyote and fox. During the day you'll see our ducks and chickens free-ranging and our sheep may join them or be in their pasture. We have an active homestead farm and we are focused on building a thriving environment for pollinators. Autumn brings the honey harvest and in the spring maple syrup... you're always welcome around the fire.

Our property is 15 acres in beautiful south central Michigan, north of Jackson, and south of Lansing. It features an approximate 2 acre spring fed pond that does not have scum. It eventually flows into a creek that meanders through onsite wetlands into State of Michigan land. It is virgin land and exhibits many forms of wildlife: deer, turkey, rabbits, pheasants, fish, birds, and other. One day this will be our future dream home, but in the meantime we enjoy using it for getaways and peaceful surroundings. Activities include the following: We have kayaked on the pond, had campfires on the hill, hiked through the swamp, fished on the pond, and have had hunters in the fall. It's within a 30 minute drive of Lansing and Jackson which both have numerous activities and culture.

Tents. Hammocks. Vans. RVs. Small camper trailers. Groups. Glamping This property has been in our family for over 40 years- it is our own little piece of heaven and we are wanting to share it with you! The land was originally bought to be a hippy community- but sadly people grew up and moved on, leaving my father as the lone survivor of the property. My husband and I have recently purchased the land from him and want to make it into something beautiful- a new community of sorts. We are excited for you to come and camp on our property! We have lots of fun things planned for the property and will be making improvements as we go! It all takes time and a lot of hard work- but we are making it into something special, and we thank you for being apart of the journey. Learn more about this land: Our little slice of heaven is nestled back off the country road- with over 30 acres, we have a beautiful grassy area that has a large fire pit and a natural pond. Some wood is provided for your initial fire; more can be purchased from us for $5 per bundle. We have basic electricity- we have nice grassy walking paths and a wooded area with trails, a natural pond and creek as well. Our land is very peaceful and safe. The perfect space to unplug and unwind and to recharge yourself. While we do only consider our space one site, it is large enough for groups as big as 30ppl, with plenty of room to set up tents in your desired areas. Campers and trailers are welcome, with size requirements and space; we also restrict where they can be parked. We are very close to several rivers, an easy day trip to Lake Michigan. We are in a very nice happy medium to a lot of Michigan favorite spots. Check out the zoo, breweries, casino, biking trails, local restaurants and attractions. Come and enjoy the quiet country- and get some amazing star lit skies. We can accommodate large groups, or family gatherings. Large groups (over 10) must add on an additional portable toilet to their stay- if staying more than one night. (seasonal only) We have an open air shower (see photos) that is cold water- but can be hot on sunny days. We have added in a wood fire tub, to relax under the stars. We also have an outdoor sink on site. Well trained- recall ready pets are welcomed- please pick up after your pet. We do have free range ducks that use the pond- who should be respected as well as barn cats. Leashes are required for all dogs who are not recall trained, and are dangerous to our animals. We do a meet and greet with our guests and will show you to the space; go over any information that we need to with you, and then we try and leave you to the space so you can experience it for yourself and enjoy your time. We are proud to be a certified pollinator sanctuary, and do not spray our property for insects. Please do not use any foggers while on property. Visit our seasonal farm stand for fresh produce, eggs, and some beautiful flowers and herbs. We look forward to hosting you soon. Please review all rules before booking with us. We understand that we are not for everyone, and we are okay with that.

We bought this property in 2012 and have built several buildings and forged paths throughout the 32 acres. Our road is part of the North Country Trail, a footpath stretching over 4,600 miles from Middlebury in central Vermont to Lake Sakakawea State Park in central North Dakota. While tearing down the existing house, we constructed two bedrooms in the pole barn for a quick living space. Once settled in the pole barn, we a built a small log cabin with already felled timbers from the local woods, except for the box frame which was purchased from the local Amish. Prior to building our permanent log cabin home, this small cabin was our camp site and is now being rented to people that want to relax and enjoy the outdoors. In the middle of the woods, we created a campground to be enjoyed by hikers and on the North side of our property is a tree line between two fields that is a great small camper/tent camping spot.

Please read before booking: This is a working certified organic farm, not a developed commercial campground. Tent bookings are for walk-in / away-from-vehicle camping. To camp with or near your vehicle, book the RV/Vehicle listing. You must provide a specific arrival time that we both agree on. This has rarely happened, but if you miss the agreed arrival window by more than 45 minutes, your reservation may be canceled. If you foresee not being on time, please make sure to communicate promptly and we'll do our best to accommodate you, but sometimes, regretfully, we may have to cancel your reservation. Amenities are rustic. Our 130 acre property is currently an organic heirloom vegetable seed farm that is only 12 minutes from Ann Arbor. We've converted this former conventional agricultural land to a beautiful oasis of Certified Organic seed production and homesteading. The rolling land is 1/2 forest/wetlands and 1/2 fields, making it a biodiverse hot spot for plants, animals, and fungi. Nature abounds at Nature and Nurture Farm so come enjoy our private camping spots.
