We host NYS Police along with local police/sheriff deputies here through our organization Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC. Don't be surprised if you see a NYS trooper or police unit parked up in the field near the horses. All fires must be completely out unless you are physically with your fire. We supply 5 gallons of water and more is available to drink, wash dishes and put your fire out. Please respect our rules. Fire safety is necessary to keep everything safe here for all of us. Thank you for understanding. Here in the mountains we can experience very cold nights. We supply a small pile of firewood for a small fire at no charge. If you like, you can gather more dead wood (not live trees) in our forests. Please bring lots of clothes and layers. Stay warm! Smoking: We are primarily a non-smoking/vaping farm and appreciate you smoking/vaping in your vehicle not on our premises please. Partying: Nope not us. Our farm is peaceful and quiet and so are our neighbors. Please party elsewhere and come here to relax in the blissful quiet of nature. Quiet music, just playing some Spotify tunes and acoustic musicians are welcome here. There's a great bar restaurant 5 minutes from us, "17 Cherry Plain Sq". Live music, great food and something like 40 beers on tap. Party there then chill out here with us. Breakfast and the best beef this side of the Mississippi can be found at Gardners Cafe and Icecream Shop only 5 miles up 22 South from our place. You can enjoy a big fat omelet with homefries and bacon then grab frozen hamburg and steaks from Gardner's own local beef grown wild and free outside. Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm is adjacent to miles of public forest. Peace and solace can be found in these quiet mountains. In addition to amazing hiking, backpacking mountain biking, road biking right from your Hipcamp site, with kayaking nearby. We are 10 minutes away from Cherry Plain State Park (which has a gorgeous lake and kid-friendly sandy beach), and even closer to the Taconic Crest Trail. Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Come share our paradise, bring your outdoor adventurer gear (you will be glad you did) and we will share our favorite local destinations with you. We ask that all hipcampers who are primary guests be 21 years of age or over. Children are welcome but we will not knowingly rent to anyone under 21 years of age. There is a $50 additional charge for garbage left at our farm including cigarette butts (we are a no smoking farm!), broken glass, bottles, cans, plastics, containers, bags and other trash. This is a pack in and pack out working farm not a party spot. Renting from us constitutes your reading of our rules attached to each property, your understanding and your agreement of our policies. We have been the caretakers of this land and cabin since 2015, when we bought it from the builder of the modest cabin on-site, Steve. It is our family camp, but we love to share it with friends and fellow nature-loving campers. The land is partially wooded, and partially 'old field' that is slowly re-foresting through natural succession with some intentional interruption in order to introduce edible native trees and shrubs that are not naturally present. In this way the land is a slowly developing food forest and also a nursery for its plant-loving stewards. Learn more about this land: Escape the city and find yourself in this off-grid hillside cabin with a deck overlooking the Taconic mountain range.   Wander through field and forest, and cool off in the nearby stream.    The cabin has two rooms, and there is a kids playground and tire swing making this an appropriate family camping getaway.    There is a solar panel providing indoor lights and phone charging capabilities, a fire pit with a grill, and a simple array of pots, dishes, and utensils.  There is a spring-fed 55 gallon reservoir of potable water that will slowly refill as well. Though not far off the road, there is very little car traffic, and the surroundings are very peaceful.  The din of the running stream is a constant, while the sounds of coyotes and owls can be heard at night.  As the name indicates, the east-facing hillside is often witness to incredible moonrises, and the stars are always bright.  Nearby Attractions: The Beer Diviner small-scale brewery and taproom is a stone's throw away from the parking area with a selection of tasty beer and some food options available.  In addition to regular hours, there are special summer events, and live music every Saturday night. Cherry Plain State Park is a 'less-traveled' state park and campground just 3.5 miles up the road, offering lake swimming, boating, hiking and mountain bike trails. Other nearby outdoor attractions include:  Williamstown MA, The Taconic Crest Trail, Jiminy Peak Resort, Hancock Shaker Village, and Mt. Greylock. You will now be able to take a quick shower. May through October or when the weather is above freezing at night. Please if staying with us in the winter four wheel drive is recommended. Or front wheel drive with decent snow tires. The driveway is long and the road up to it can be tricky during winter weather. Also because of the woodstove, it might not be a good place for toddlers in the colder months.

For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. In the off season starting after Thanksgiving through April, there is no water or toilet or shower facilities available. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! The most comfortable cabin with a stunning view!!!! Everything is so much more beautiful in person. Being there truly feels magical. I loved being surrounded by the ferns and wildlife. The view from the cabin is stunning. I recommend catching sunrise, even if you have to get up a bit early. At night, the fireflies put on a show that was unreal and left me speechless. The cabin is very clean and well kept, as well as the outhouse. I was impressed. The hosts are very kind and informative. You will not regret this stay.

Weekend Trip to The Cabin

The views were even more gorgeous than the pictures somehow, which I didn't think was possible. The hosts were so warm and welcoming, genuinely lovely people, and it was the sweetest bonus getting to meet their adorable dog Basil. They pointed us toward some great restaurants and gave us tips on things to do nearby that we never would've found on our own. The cabin felt so private, and I basically lived in the hammock. Slept better than I have in ages too. They have lots of paths and things to do right on the property as well. We even spotted a few deer from our window puttering about in the meadow. We only stayed one night, but we left completely relaxed. Can't recommend it enough.

We love glamping at Grateful Acres and have just completed another stay! Stephanie is a friendly welcoming host! We always in the Sunshine cabin-which is always clean and well appointed. It was great to pull up this season to see some colorful paint touches on the cabins 😊 Core memories are made for our now 6yr old granddaughter with every stay; this past week she talked for days to everyone who would listen about how excited she was to go back to "her" camp! You'll love the dry cabin if a rain comes through, the quietness of a completely off grid camp ground, the space between sites for privacy, and the beauty of the land!

Weekend Trip to Atland Artist Residency

We loved the cabin! there were other tent/glamp sites nearby, and the communal sink with well water was right outside the cabin too. We got to use the wood-heated hot tub - Tori kindly prepared and heated it up in time for our arrival. The tub was a true highlight of the stay, especially with the cool and rainy weather. The trails nearby are worth checking out and we befriended so many newts!

Weekend Trip to The Cabin

This was the cutest little cabin on a beautiful piece of land! The bed was more than comfortable for two people to sleep on, although unfortunately we came too late in the season to use the woodstove. It wasn’t a big issue though — at first, the cabin was a little cold, but after three of us hanging out for a bit it warmed up nicely! The outdoor sink is a really nice touch, and the fire pit is great! What was most amazing was the abundance of wildlife — which is in no small part due to Julie’s focus on planting native plants! We saw many deer, and heard a variety of birds at any given moment. It was also a delight to meet Basil the dog! Julie was super welcoming and knowledgeable about the area! Shelburne Falls is a really cute little town, and there are so many lovely hikes and swimming holes nearby we’re already planning on coming back to do all of the things we didn’t get a chance to do!

1 night at Forest Hut in Western Mass

I had a lovely stay at the Forest Hut. It was a cold and rainy night but just the retreat I needed. The stay was just as Hannah described it in the listing. Weekend Trip to Grateful Acres Vermont

Staying at Grateful acres was a long strange trip in all the right ways. We were beyond grateful we chose the sunshine cabin during a weather worrying weekend. The cozy set up- complete with the picnic table, fire pit and 2 Adirondack chairs- gave us the perfect place to relax, play games during the rain, and enjoy corn hole and other field games once the sky cleared. One thing that really stood out was how thoughtful and welcoming the camp was. The nighttime lighting around the camp, made it easy to find your way after dark, including the classic Deadhead trip to the porta potty. What's a dead show without one? Even better, it was stocked with soap, water, wipes and twinkle lights. Stephanie and her son were also incredibly responsive and kind. Helping us out quickly with some unexpected mechanical issues during our stay. We also loved exploring the nearby green Mountain national Forest and the beautiful Somerset reservoir. Even with the rainy weather, the scenery was stunning, and we were already hoping to come back when the sun is shining so we can kayak, fish. If your coming at night the dirt road is a solid 20 minutes long, but once you get there, grateful acres is one of those places where once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest places if you look at it right.

2 nights at Atland Artist Residency

The cabin is incredibly cute and comfortable, on beautiful land. It is well stocked - including nice touches like a hooded cotton robe, comfy bedding, a tiny coffee maker, a headlamp, and a tarot deck :) I could imagine that the loft could be difficult for some people to maneuver in and out of if they have any mobility issues, but I found it super cozy. My favorite thing was the outdoor shower. Wow, so lovely. And the outhouse is even pretty and tastefully decorated! A lounge chair near the cabin would have been really sweet, but overall the stay was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were welcoming, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend AtLand and hope to return!

1 night at Dickensen Farm: Cabins & Camping

I loved our stay from the moment we got there until the very end! We were greeted by two of Kim's dogs that guided us right to pocket corner cabin. Kim brought us up firewood and water to douse the campfire. The little cabin itself was nice, the door was secure so we could contain our pups at night, you can open the windows to listen to the night sounds and it had cute quirky decor with comfy mattresses. I absolutely loved interacting with the alpacas, chickens and even the turkey once I realized that he wasn't trying to kill me and just trying to say hello. LOL Little big guy is quite a character but then so are some of her roosters, especially Adolf. Overall there was plenty of space to move around and explore, Kim was the perfect host, available for any questions or help that we needed but not obtrusive. She invited us into her life allowing me to help feed the animals and I cannot wait to go back!

Riverhaven is absolutely wonderful. The river, the beautiful cabin, the location, everything was set up for us to have the most perfect weekend. The cabin had everything we needed and then some. We loved it and cannot wait to come back! Thank you !

Beautiful views with great trail options off this road. The cabin was very cute and easy to find with a nice outdoor seating area. The sites weren’t as private as I normally like since they were in a field but this was still a nice place to settle in for the night.

Absolutely gorgeous property and so peaceful. Just what I needed. Your hammock swing needs to be replaced something was living in it. I can’t wait to stay longer and listen to the native wildlife.

Weekend Trip to Atland Artist Residency

Beautiful tiny cabin. They’ve done big things with a small space. The little touches were clearly thought out including a heater and fan, ear plugs, and plenty of utensils/kitchen ware to eat and make coffee. They also have a new outdoor bathroom! Rustic but cozy, functional, and clean experience. Would do again.

I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back! We liked how remote it was and the cabin was very cozy. It was so nice seeing the stars and the view waking up in the morning! Stephanie was very nice and helpful!
