This unique stay is tucked away in the beautiful Berkshires at 1,200 feet elevation, making for cool, crisp nights and star-filled skies. Originally the boatshed for the President’s summer home, the treehouse was built 15 years ago as a cozy sleepout perfect for stargazing and unwinding in nature.
The Treehouse
Perched in the trees and draped in wisteria, the treehouse features a clear corrugated roof, full flyscreening, and canvas blinds—keeping it breezy and bug-free. There’s a comfy hanging double bed with a high-quality mattress. Please note: guests need to bring their own sheets, bedding, and pillows.

Our driveway is located about 3 miles from the start of the Boston Marathon, 8 minutes from 495, but, down a country road. We find our property to be quite peaceful. We do have crickets and frogs to lull you to sleep and early birds to greet you in the morning. Keep an eye out for turtles!
We are a few hundred yards from either Upton State Forest or Lake Whitehall. Lake Whitehall is popular with boaters (speed limit enforced) and is stocked with fish. No swimming. There is a public boat ramp on the other side of the lake. We often put in our kayaks at the entrance close to our house. We hike, mountain bike and picnic in these parks. It's really beautiful. There is a 24-hour grocery store 2 miles down the road.
The gravel campsite is located at the barn end of our driveway in front of the red barn. There is a little privacy from the house, but, we may need to get into the barn from time to time. We have a 30amp and water hookup at the barn. If planning on using electric please add one "electric hookup" extra to each night of your stay BEFORE finishing the request to book, it's really difficult to add it after. Please plan to bring 50' of hose and/or 25ft of electrical cord if using hookups. There is wifi, BUT, it's pretty weak at the barn. Definitely not strong enough for streaming! Our Ibex camper may or may not be parked next to the barn depending on if we are out camping! We do not accept car campers.
Turtle Path also has a Guest Suite. Find us on that other website! Shortly after we moved in we discovered a large snapping turtle on his way from Lake Whitehall to the creek at the back of our property. Our neighbor told us that's the turtle's usual route. Turtle won our hearts that day.

Emily and her husband were very kind and accommodating. They have a lovely property and, while tricky to back into, it was a great place to be for a week. The woods behind the house are nice and there are many trails nearby to hike and explore. Quiet, pleasant , and beautiful area all around.

This was one of our favorite hip camp locations we visited. When they said private, they meant it! It's less than a minute walk from the parking area and has everything you could ever need; charging stations, picnic table, fire pit, recommendations, heat, you name it! Our favorite was the cute little basketball hoop because we are children at heart. Michael was also an incredible host who communicated with us well and left clear, easy to follow instructions. You have the option to purchase firewood from him or you can go into town and get some from local stores. It is also nearby many trails, beautiful scenery, coffee shops, and of course the beautiful North Adams. If you're looking for a truly private serene getaway, this is the spot for you.

Our night spent at Quentin’s treehouse was beyond phenomenal. Pictures don’t do the treehouse and the view justice and Quentin truly went above and beyond as a host! From helping us start a fire to coffee in the morning, to the thoughtfully available items such as an extra sleeping bag and cookware on site, I can’t recommend this Hipcamp enough. Without a doubt my favorite I’ve ever stayed at!

Weekend Trip to Quentins Treehouse
After reading the reviews and seeing the pictures, I wanted to have a one night getaway here for my birthday. Little did I know it would turn into something beautiful.
My boyfriend and I booked this place a few months ago, and as a surprise, my bf had contacted Quentin about setting up a romantic evening for when we got there. Quentin was beyond accommodating! It turned out he would be out of town so he had his friend help out, which was super sweet!
When we got there, it was magical! They setup the fire pit, candles everywhere, rose petals, they had a clawfoot tub converted into a hot tub out by the lake, a little table with chairs on the deck, wine, sparkling water - it was beyond. Thank you so much Quentin and Bridget for setting up the most amazing getaway for us! It was our first getaway as a couple and we couldn’t be more grateful for your hospitality and thoughtfulness. Mission (beyond) accomplished! We definitely will be back!

Weekend Trip to Quentins Treehouse
My girlfriend and I stumbled upon Quentins Treehouse a couple months back, we knew it was the getaway we desired. She obviously knew about the trip, but what she didnt know, was behind the scenes, Quentin and his friend Birgit assisted me in making the time much more than just a getaway, that made a memory for my girlfriend and I to remember for the rest of our lives. From filling up a tub with flowers and a fire underneath, to a bottle of wine and lighting up the dock. I could have asked for a better experience to celebrate my girlfriend on her birthday. We highly recommend Quentins Treehouse to anyone. He can turn the stay from just a night getaway, to a romantic abode on the lake side. Thank you again. We will return some day.

Weekend Trip to Quentins Treehouse
We had an amazing stay in Quentin’s treehouse. We arrived late but the instructions for arrival were clear and we found ourselves at a beautiful star lit lake. The treehouse was so cozy and we loved the hanging bed. Quentin was so friendly and it was wonderful to chat. We were also so excited about the paddle boards and got to explore the lake. Overall a beautiful experience and we hope to come back.

Comfy and clean and the A frame cabin was delightful - secluded but easy to get to, and close to some great trails in the State Forest. We stayed here to be close to MassMoCA for a show, and it was very convenient to North Adams with all the city has to offer. Michael was very helpful host. We absolutely will be back!
