Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard. Additional things to see: Boating in Carroll County Maryland. Local wineries Ski Liberty Carroll is a full service county whatever your needs. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN FIREWOOD. AT THIS TIME WE ARE OUT FOR THE SEASON. The original river campsite has been moved to a more remote spot so that all campers can access the pond and pier to the river. Farm encompasses nearly 300 acres on the Patuxent River. There is access to the river on high tide via our private creek (must bring your own canoe or kayak) and 150 acres of marshland. Over 100 acres of woods to walk through and a pond for wildlife watching. The 3,510 acre forest was once the winter camping ground of the Piscataway Tribe because of the mild climate and abundance of game. Legend claims that there is a Native American burial ground within the forest... but it has yet to be found. Spooky! Equestrian, family and youth group campsites are available for your overnight stay. 19.5 miles of horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking trails weave through the forest. They pass a number of historical features, including the loblolly pine plantations that were planted by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, by a charcoal kiln, and through farm areas whose springs and streams were used to make moonshine!

The Indian Rail Trail, Charles County's most exciting recreational trail, is just a 7-minute drive from your tent. This paved, 13-mile-long, ten-foot-wide path is an excellent excursion for bikers of all ages, connecting the small town of Indian Head on the Potomac River to White Plains. The fairly level trail takes riders through mature forests, natural wetlands, and some farmland. During your stay, you can also take a 10-minute walk through the forest on our property to visit a serene creek. Your Signature campsite accommodates up to 6-10 campers. The basic booking includes space for 4 campers, with 2 sleeping on the Queen Bed in the platform safari tent and 2 sleeping in bags on the floor. The site also features a picnic table, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs where you can relax and stargaze at night. Atlantic Kayak Company is a 20-minute drive from the site, offering kayak rentals and guided expeditions. For families, Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a fun activity less than a 10-minute drive from the campsite. A Walmart is conveniently located about 10 minutes away for any supplies you may need, and local produce can be obtained on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the La Plata Farmer's Market (12 min drive) between April and November. The Road To Serenity: Our road is a quaint old country farm road made of grass and a few gravel patches here and there. It is a bit of a bumpy ride, so take it slow and easy as you make your way to our hidden getaway. There is one sharp left turn over a culvert and some dips and mild inclines, so low-sitting vehicles should definitely take it slow. The road narrows as you get closer to the site, but there are reflectors along the way to keep you on the right path. We highly recommend arriving before dark. Parking: Parking is on the grass meadow between the entrance to the meadow and the walking path to the campsite. Reflectors are in place to outline the parking area. Avoid driving beyond the parking area and down steep inclines in the meadow, as softer ground presents a risk for getting stuck. A gorilla wagon is available in the parking area to help transport your belongings to the campsite. Toilet and Shower Set-up: There is a privacy tent that contains a toilet seat over a bucket. Place a bag with absorbent materials in the bucket for your biological needs. A portable automatic shower providing hot water is also available. Pets: For the safety of your pets, ensure that they are treated for ticks prior to camping. Be sure to check for ticks before bringing pets into the tent. Noises and Sounds: This property is located in a rural community, and campers may occasionally experience common city noises such as airplanes flying overhead, distant traffic, or distant firearm shots. It is a great site for city dwellers who enjoy tranquility but not complete silence.

In Delaware cities like Milford, Milton, Rehoboth or Lewes are top rated. Whether it's city, sand, seafood or beach festivals you desire, you're only within an hour or less away. We have created an off the grid, calming nature experience for you to enjoy privately. You will be surrounded by forest, tilled farms, horse farms and an abundance of wildlife. Native and wildflower gardens, fruit and nut trees were all planted just steps away from your tent areas in September 2024. Giving you a place to unplug from the everyday chaos and enjoy all nature has to offer. We even made a space that includes everything one needs to have a Forest Tea Party. Inside Uncontained, read a book or play a board game in this cozy shipping container we repurposed for you. Or just take shelter from a summer pop up thunderstorm. Nature provided a hammock area amongst the tall pine trees and we provide 7 hammocks to nap in. We also provide, chairs for the fire pit, picnic tables, charcoal grill, a propane cooktop. You can't truly enjoy our space without walking the short on Jeremiah Dixon and Charles Mason Trail. A path they would have taken in the 1700’s. Native and wildflower gardens, fruit and nut trees were all planted just steps away from your tent areas in September 2024. Giving you a place to unplug from the everyday chaos and enjoy all nature has to offer. We even made a space that includes everything one needs to have a Forest Tea Party. Welcome to the Unplugged Forest of Mason Dixon Outfarm. This private space is centrally located inside the Delmarva Peninsula. We sit on the Mason Dixon line with a 1764 historical marker on our property that divides the towns of Federalsburg, MD and Bridgeville, DE. Even though we are 5 miles from either small town. Our farm consists of 41 acres total with our Homestead on 31 ac. The other 10 ac. Unplugged Forest, sits just off a dirt road that our non-tidal creek divides from our homestead. The best part of our secluded location is being close to popular towns like Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge or Ocean City in Maryland. In Delaware cities like Milford, Milton, Rehoboth or Lewes are top rated. Whether it's city, sand, seafood or beach festivals you desire, you're only within an hour or less away. We have created an off the grid, calming nature experience for you to enjoy privately. You will be surrounded by forest, tilled farms, horse farms and an abundance of wildlife. Native and wildflower gardens, fruit and nut trees were all planted just steps away from your tent areas in September 2024. Giving you a place to unplug from the everyday chaos and enjoy all nature has to offer. We even made a space that includes everything one needs to have a Forest Tea Party. Inside Uncontained, read a book or play a board game in this cozy shipping container we repurposed for you. Or just take shelter from a summer pop up thunderstorm. Nature provided a hammock area amongst the tall pine trees and we provide 7 hammocks to nap in. We also provide, chairs for the fire pit, picnic tables, charcoal grill, a propane cooktop. You can't truly enjoy our space without walking the short on Jeremiah Dixon and Charles Mason Trail. A path they would have taken in the 1700’s. Adventure through the forest and over the small creek to our homestead to place one foot in both States at the historical Mason Dixon marker under the old wild Cherry tree. Be sure to stop at the 8ft bluish grey farm gate to pets the Goats, Dixie (brown) Dolly(blonde) and Star(black).

I stayed at Conus SKY Farm (now known as Camp Comus) multiple times in my RV. I love the farm animals, the Camp Hosts, the solitude, and the feel of the forest. 20, 30, and 50 amp electric, bathroom, and central water source is available. I will definitely be back next year.

My husband, myself, our kids and grandkids all met up at this amazing farm just overnight for a wonderful and rare campfire get together, but wished we had stayed longer. The grandkids loved all the animals but especially Zeus, the big, super sweet dog of the property! The expansive property accommodates RVs well with plenty of space to be private yet camp amongst the animals. Our camp host greeted us, got us set up with power, and told us all about the workings of the farm and all that was available to us on the property. These extras that you don’t normally get at most Hipcamp properties was really cool! A barn with a restroom and gathering area where chili was available the night we were there along with many homemade and local goodies like shortbread cookies, honey, dried lavender sachets and produce for purchase. We happily donated a small amount toward taking care of the rescued animals on the farm. A couple of our kids and their families live in the area so we will definitely be back! Thanks Juanita it was a pleasure!!

Juanita's horse farm has plenty of room for RV and tent campers. I enjoyed the quiet country feel, the animals (her sweet dogs, the ducks and geese and the neighbors horse), and the solitude of walking her trails surrounded by autumn trees. The camp hosts are absolutely fantastic. Friendly, accommodating, and generous. They made me feel like family. The Comus Inn restaurant is a hidden jewel. There are lots of nearby areas to explore, breweries and wineries to sample, and the trails of Sugarloaf mountain are worth your time. I plan to return next year at this time.

Hunters Park at Mezza Luna Farm was awesome. We stayed in the T1 site. Plenty of room for multiple tents and cars. There's firewood for sale right by the site, which was very convenient. There was an outdoor sink at the site, which was nice (though in colder months the water is shut off). There's a porta potty that was very clean - maybe the cleanest portapotty I've ever seen. The farm is beautiful with lots of horses to see. You're allowed to go visit them in the stables. There's plenty of paths to walk around the property if you want to go on a hike. Keith came by to visit - very friendly and welcoming. One family in our group had a couple small children. They did fine and loved seeing the horses. Damascus is very close by - easy access to groceries if you need anything. We'll be back again!

Our experience with this farm was a bit different than most people’s stays, as we’re an organization that supported a family in need by placing our transitional housing camper here for 28 days. From the moment we arrived, Seth and Stephanie were incredibly warm and welcoming, giving the family the space and grace they needed to heal and transition during a difficult time. The farm was absolutely the perfect setting for this season of life. The open fields and natural views provided a peaceful, restorative environment that you simply can’t find in more traditional settings. There’s something deeply healing about being surrounded by nature and wide-open spaces. The kids were entertained watching the chickens, geese, turkeys, and sheep wandering about the property. These simple joys made such a meaningful difference during their stay and created sweet memories during a challenging transition. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone traveling through the area, but also to locals who want a new taste of their own community. This farm offered our family something truly special - a safe harbor and a chance to experience beauty and peace during a time they needed it most.
