Turtle Ridge Farms borders the Brandywine River and about 1,000 acres of woodland park. We try to be a unique host farm experience. We will have contactless check in available upon arrival. Campers will fill out the registration form on the front porch and then go to their site. A note about fishing. Fishing is available in the Brandywine River behind our farm, in Hibernia Park, at Springton Manor catch and release pond, and also at Chambers Lake in the park. 35-acre bucolic farm with goats, sheep, chickens and geese. Sites are near our one acre pond and each site has a fire pit. Our farm borders the 1,000-acre Hibernia Park with its historic mansion, extensive woodlands, hiking trails and along the beautiful Brandywine river. Lots of wooded areas, trails, rock outcroppings and beautiful scenery. The entrance to the park is through our farm gate near Site 2 and then down a trail. We had a wonderful time camping at site 2 at Tom's place. It was so peaceful and beautiful and a short walk away from some great trails at the next door neighboring park. Room was a great host. He spent a while with us to show us around, introduce us to his goats, chickens and geese, and tell us the history of the area and his property. He had a working bathroom, a coffee machine, which was awesome because i forgot my coffee, and we bought a dozen of his farm eggs. After that he gave us our space and privacy but let us know he was available if we needed him. We can't wait to come back.

We had a great weekend camping at Tom's place. Site 2 was private and wooded. We loved interacting with the goats. Tom was an excellent host, and having a real bathroom available was a big plus for my group. You do have to cart your belonging down a hill (and back up when you leave), but sturdy carts are provided, and it maintains the peace and quiet of the camping spots. Would definitely recommend to others.

We had a great time camping here. We arrived in the dark later than anticipated and Tom graciously met us when we arrived and took us to our site. Site 4 is up against the tree line a short walk from where you park next to the house. You aren’t deep in the woods but there is tree cover above you. You’re also set away from other sites, so it feels very private. The site is sort of in a hill, but it has a few spots that were flat enough for our tent. The site has a fire ring, picnic table with tablecloth, a few plastic lawn chairs, and a plastic end table. There are a couple of chicken coops as well as geese, goats, and sheep which were all fun to visit. There’s a small “camp store” (mudroom) attached to the house which is open 24/7 and is only a couple minute walk from the camp site. The bathroom is accessed from the mudroom. There is coffee, s’mores kits, and other camp necessities for sale if you forgot anything. There are carts available to get your gear to your site. There was plenty of deadfall wood around for the weekend,, but Tom brought some split wood straight to our campsite and we had a very nice chat. There is direct access to the Hibernia Park Rim Park Trail from Tom’s property and we had a great hike along it. Overall, we highly recommend this site.

This is a glorious, pristine farm w/ complete privacy & seclusion. I was the ONLY camper during my 2 nite stay. Peggy came out of her house to kindly greet me, then left me alone to pick anywhere on her 8 acres i wanted to set up. Nothing was off limits. Was in a yurt w/ 2 dogs they ran around like they owned the place. She was always avail however. Just a text, phone call away or even a holler up the hill. She had a huge burn pile ready for me to use but it was too windy & I set my tent up too close-so no campfire-boo my bad! Property consists mostly corn fields, a lovely pond, a barn & hog house. Lots of green mowed grass. Not totally level (somewhat hilly) but flat enough to set up camp. Lovely willow, maple, locust & walnut trees. The sun set over the pond in a blaze of color. Barn swallows graze the pond & a ground hogs munch dinner. Deer if you're lucky. Bring binoculars! There were ZERO mosquitos. I loved that Peggy was attune to my needs & happy to help without being nosy/overbearing. I felt a real kinship as she runs the place by herself & it's absolutely perfect. She's the real deal-a true blue hard-working farm woman. Empty Cupboard Farm is only a few minutes from all the shopping you'll need but private enough you can't hear a sound at night but cows, owls & crickets. At the top of farm is the infamous Red Door & tons of chestnuts to roast. Its very easy to find, very easy access in. Run, dont walk to EMPTY Cupboard Farm for a FULL renewing spiritual experience.

My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere to camp for my birthday. So happy we decided to stay here! Perfect little spot. We arrived later than expected, around 8PM and Tom, the host, came out to guide us around the area in the dark. He showed us our spot and even some of his Animals. He is a very helpful and friendly Host ! We booked site 1 and loved it. It is slightly less secluded than the other 3 sites that are a little deeper in the woods. But I would rebook this spot again anytime. We really loved the large stone fire pit! There is also a nice trail behind the property along the river that was nice to walk in the mornings. My boyfriend and I brought kayaks with us and spent a day at chambers lake in hibernia park which is right around the corner. Beautiful area and perfect place to get away and relax in the wilderness. Thanks for having us! We definitely will be back!

Ok my favorite thing about this site was Bah the goat, but there was a lot to love. Bah hung out with us for a good long while and was perfect company. She is truly special. It was great to have access to a bathroom (a short walk away), and the carts to move belongings down to the site were clinch. Site 1 is the most “exposed” and the other sites, if occupied, will need to walk past you to set up and go to the restroom. That was fine for us, but good to know for your planning. The proximity to Hibernia State Park was amazingggg. We got to swim in the Brandywine and hike around, enjoy the beautiful weather. Tom has many cute goats, loud but ultimately avoidant geese, and chickens who did stay in their coop but would have been welcome in my tent lol. The firepit was well maintained and some grates were provided. We would definitely come back to this location, especially since it’s so close to Philly.

Our favorite HipCamp site. Tom is great. His farm is lovely. Camping here is the perfect blend of being out in the woods, but with a bathroom you can walk to. The fireplace is so well built. There are shady spots and sunny spots to pitch your tent. A table and bench. Its minimal, which is perfect. Has everything you need. Hibernia Park is a few minutes away by car or you can walk from his farm. Its a super well cared for park with playgrounds, trails, grills, Etc. We will definitely be back. Thanks Tom!
