Wildlife abounds, including deer, small mammals, and geese. Bald eagles and Heron even take a pond dip periodically. Woodland trails are accessible and new tree plantings can be observed. We welcome RVs under 30'. It will be too hilly for anything longer. (Be aware: inclement weather is not your friend here if your vehicle can't handle potentially slippery conditions.) Enjoy the following activities: Mountain biking, pedal onlyPond fishing. (Sorry, no swimming in the pond; but an "An open to the public", private pool is 13 miles/20min. As is the Y. Lawn games and a fire pit are available. So are the stars at night; cloud permitting. Consider the free star gazing app, SkyView Lite, even in the day and under clouds. Don't miss our stunning sunsets at the "Red Door," our entrance. Historical towns within 10 miles any direction are reached over rolling countryside. Gettysburg is less than 20 miles. Baltimore is less than an hours ride by open highway. Blue Ridge mountains 18 miles. Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard. Additional things to see: Boating in Carroll County Maryland. Local wineries Ski Liberty Carroll is a full service county whatever your needs. We enjoyed camping at The Point, it was quiet and felt private, but an easy walk to the porta potty and water. I liked seeing the host’s cats, chickens and sheep. The host was kind and communicative. Very quick and easy drive (10 mins or less) into Gettysburg town & battlefields. I would recommend, and would stay here again.

Our experience with this farm was a bit different than most people’s stays, as we’re an organization that supported a family in need by placing our transitional housing camper here for 28 days. From the moment we arrived, Seth and Stephanie were incredibly warm and welcoming, giving the family the space and grace they needed to heal and transition during a difficult time. The farm was absolutely the perfect setting for this season of life. The open fields and natural views provided a peaceful, restorative environment that you simply can’t find in more traditional settings. There’s something deeply healing about being surrounded by nature and wide-open spaces. The kids were entertained watching the chickens, geese, turkeys, and sheep wandering about the property. These simple joys made such a meaningful difference during their stay and created sweet memories during a challenging transition. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone traveling through the area, but also to locals who want a new taste of their own community. This farm offered our family something truly special - a safe harbor and a chance to experience beauty and peace during a time they needed it most. Seth and Stephanie’s kindness and the tranquil setting made all the difference. Thank you for opening your property to families like ours!

Tent camping @ Hipville was excellent. The area was well maintained with many paths cutting across the property. The water level was a bit low for effective fishing, but we dropped some lines anyway. There was very limited prepared wood available when we arrived, and we needed to acquire more in the morning (not a difficult prospect).

This is a glorious, pristine farm w/ complete privacy & seclusion. I was the ONLY camper during my 2 nite stay. Peggy came out of her house to kindly greet me, then left me alone to pick anywhere on her 8 acres i wanted to set up. Nothing was off limits. Was in a yurt w/ 2 dogs they ran around like they owned the place. She was always avail however. Just a text, phone call away or even a holler up the hill. She had a huge burn pile ready for me to use but it was too windy & I set my tent up too close-so no campfire-boo my bad! Property consists mostly corn fields, a lovely pond, a barn & hog house. Lots of green mowed grass. Not totally level (somewhat hilly) but flat enough to set up camp. Lovely willow, maple, locust & walnut trees. The sun set over the pond in a blaze of color. Barn swallows graze the pond & a ground hogs munch dinner. Deer if you're lucky. Bring binoculars! There were ZERO mosquitos. I loved that Peggy was attune to my needs & happy to help without being nosy/overbearing. I felt a real kinship as she runs the place by herself & it's absolutely perfect. She's the real deal-a true blue hard-working farm woman. Empty Cupboard Farm is only a few minutes from all the shopping you'll need but private enough you can't hear a sound at night but cows, owls & crickets. At the top of farm is the infamous Red Door & tons of chestnuts to roast. Its very easy to find, very easy access in. Run, dont walk to EMPTY Cupboard Farm for a FULL renewing spiritual experience.

Wow! Such a peaceful spot with beautiful surroundings. The barn site was very level and had a fire pit and also power. Perfectly served our needs. Friday night traffic delayed us a bit and Catherine was understanding and very cordial upon arrival. We were just there for a quick overnight stop, but would definitely return again. And we drive through the Gettysburg area quite frequently so perhaps we will :)

We enjoyed having campfires in the evenings after sight seeing. Directions are good and easy access from the highway to the farm. We stayed in the barn site and used the electric hook up which was easy to access.

The rooster does crow, but it was so much better than listening to other campers in a campsite! Very close to Gettysburg and outlet malls!

Spent the weekend camping at the Main Barn at Redemption Springs Farm and what a unique experience it was. This is a working farm with healthy sustainable and natural farming methods. There are a lot of chickens, ducks and turkeys on this farm, with a couple of chatty geese and a sheep. Seth greeted us and he and his family could not have been more welcoming. It's a working farm so you could see them out and about caring for the animals or helping people at their farm store they run (really good food available for purchase, made sure to load up before leaving, plus you don't need to bring everything with you). Seth took time out to talk to us about their farming methods, the heritage breeds they have selected and raised and what goes into the produce they sell. It's a lot of fun watching the birds wandering around the farm as they are completely free range. They'll come near your campsite but will leave you alone but have no fear of humans so you can really watch them up close. The farm is very pretty, good camp site behind the barn, there is electricity, you can use a hose pipe for water if you need it, or use their natural spring water. There's wood for sale, eggs so fresh because they were laid that morning and so on. The location is only a few minutes from Westminster if you need city type things, but you can't tell out on the farm, you feel like you're way out in the country, no traffic noise or anything. It was a very relaxing place to stay, will definitely return!
