the cabin is in winter mode and has limit water, please bring all the water you need. if you forget or need more the can supply water when we are available to do so. Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles. We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

Boomtown Rustic Camps is Nestled in the Foothills of Western Maine. This gem is located in the quiet woodlands on a dirt road where you can reconnect and rejuvenate. Your Stargazer Tent furnished with beds, linens. Outdoor kitchen for meal preps includes all essentials. Also, offered are Two Campsites located on the edge of the field where you can bring your own tent and camping gear. These two sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Shared Portable Toilet with outdoor hot shower. Water available, although non potable. There is no electricity on site. We are off the grid. Solar lights at night add to the ambiance.Feel free to explore the hiking trails on the 100 Acre property. This area is known for its wildlife. As you will see many different tracks, should you encounter our wildlife friends please allow them the space they deserve.Located approximately 40 minutes from Sugarloaf and Saddleback Mountains, these mountains offer magnificent views. Quill Hill has a spectacular 360 degree view where you can see for miles Visit Rangeley Lake to grab lunch and Browse the shops in town. Smalls Falls is breath taking offers another great spot for a picnic. Closer to home Porter Lake is a beautiful lake to Swim, Kayak, Canoe or Fish. This lake has an island which is home to Bald Eagles raising their young there. Eustis offers Flagstaff Lake, a popular spot for Kayakers. The lucky ones get a glimpse of a Moose.Maybe you prefer Biking or golfing in Carrabassett at Sugarloaf, hiking in Coos Canyon in Weld, Whitewater Rafting in the Forks Certain times of the year folks take tubes floating down the Sandy River. Our ATV trail is right out of the driveway heading up the dirt road. There is a lot to see and do in the area. . We look forward to meeting our guests, our new friends. Bring food, ice, clothing, extra blankets if you are one that gets chilled at night and of course some bug and tick repellent. Your site will be well stocked for comfort. Please expect to see us while we are maintaining and improving the grounds. Your enjoyable stay is our top priority. Our hope is that you will love our property as much as we do. Weekend Trip to Raven's Rest Tiny Cabin

This is the best hipcamp site I've seen so far. We have stayed here 4 or 5 times and will definitely return. My son asked to spend his birthday here this year. There is a wood stove, comfortable beds and even a little electricity for lights. It is very private and quiet. It is well kept and tidy. Dogs are welcome.

Weekend Trip to Trees of Life Retreat (ToLR)

My pup and I had a great time at ToLR. We had a hilarious greeting of turkeys and hens and then about 100 yards then to the right and we were there! The happy birds were a highlight each morning, the nuthatches were busy. The trails behind the woodshed were lovely and quiet. The cabin was so clean and so thoughtfully done. We didn’t want to leave and will for sure be back. Such a lovely and peaceful place.

It was a really great stay and super quiet. Walmart is 30 minutes away and the privy is one of the cleanest that I've seen and it has an led light. The communication was crystal and I highly recommened this spot!

Incredible getaway. Thoughtful and well built cabin. Beautiful bench with a perfect incline to look at the stars in front of the fire. The wood stove kept us incredibly toasty. Absolute dream. Cannot beat it.

This is one of those rare finds that you don’t want to leave. Our campsite was on a grassy knoll overlooking the river/lake and surrounded by acres of lawn. We could watch the water from our bed. Just beautiful. My husband enjoyed a chat with the owner and got some of the history of the place. Our dog was in doggy heaven.

We had a phenominal time during a little late season camping trip here. The land was stunning and provided awesome views of the stars at night; the stream made for great ambient sound, all around great area! Sean was super friendly and we even got to meet the goats! Short drive away from Norway and Bethel, would defintiely recommened if you're looking for a weekend getaway trip.

John’s place was absolutely beautiful. The fields, the fall foliage, the autumn light filtering through the trees, the breeze blowing off the river—heaven on earth. Our dog was able to run around, we were able to step away from work, and the kids were able to enjoy the natural surroundings. We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Applecroft

Great car camping site and awesome hosts, super friendly and welcoming, Shane made sure I had fire wood and recommended that I take a short walk down to the pond in the morning to catch the sunrise and it did not disappoint! Gorgeous! I was only there for one night for a quick solo camping trip to go visit the Dambo trolls in the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens also highly recommended going there during your stay!

From a spacious RV site, (or in our case, a full size school bus) to a tent site for the more adventurous, to a cozy cabin with many amenities to make your stay more comfortable. Orange Gate Sites is clean, has ready to burn firewood, sturdy fire pits that you can even cook your meals on, and clean outdoor toilets. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at tiny house. The home has windows on every wall, taking advantage of it's beautiful secluded spot in the woods. The hosts were not intrusive, but were quick to respond to my questions. There's generous amounts of firewood on the property and the bench near the fire pit is at the perfect slant for stargazing. Would definitely return..

Loved everything about this cabin. Perfect peaceful getaway to celebrate my good friends birthday. Wood stove heats cabin very well. Screened in porch is a nice added touch. Beds are all very comfy and it was nice having lights the worked! I would come back here again and again as it is just far enough away from civilization but also close if you needed to run somewhere for food or coffee! Also loved the amount of privacy the host gives you. I did not see the host at all during our stay but knew if we needed anything they were a call away.

1 night at Slippery Rock Trails LLC

We spent an amazing couple nights tenting out right next to the Androscoggin River at John's 3rd camp site. Our hosts were wonderfully welcoming and accommodating — when we arrived we found our canoe that we rented was already waiting for us by the river's edge. Which is truly a must if you visit here as there is plenty to explore offshore. If the water doesn't entice you, there are also over 12 miles of trails a rock throw from the site that you are able to explore. Because of the kindness and helpfulness of our hosts, the undeniably beautiful views of the river (add on the fall foliage as a major perk), as well as the ability to explore an amazing area, is why we have full intensions of coming back again.

Weekend Trip to Porcupine Creek Rustic Camping

We went tent camping on Jeff and Cathy's land. Jeff and Cathy were wonderful hosts. I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday gift and they went next level by decorating our picnic area with birthday decorations and a personalized card. They also gave our boys two painted pumpkins to bring home. I didn't know I'd find hospitality at a campground, but Jeff and Cathy delivered. All of the sites offer good privacy so you don't feel like you're stacked on top of another family. The bathhouse is kept super clean. This was our first overnight tent night with our children and it went spectaculary! Thank you Jeff and Cathy. We'll be back.
