Learn more about this land:This is 44 acres of forest, fields a trout pond and trails throughout the property. It is camping not for the faint of heart. No accommodations, just raw nature. You can take what the land offers but no cutting trees. There are blackberries and raspberries galore wild and other things growing I probably don’t know about. This is truly a nature lovers dream. Acadia is 45 min. Kathdin and the Maine national monument is 1 hour. Freeport is 1 hour and 45 min. Bangor of course is 25 minutes and offers lots of dining and culture.

Now a tiny dirt road, with ultimate privacy, Stone Hill was once a bustling 'highway' for folks traveling by horse and carriage as early as the 1700's and before then the lush valley was a thriving home for the Abenaki Tribe. This land is a gorgeous example of Maine's pristine nature and is full of native plants, fungi, and animals that we share the space with! The cabin is a cute little space made from recycled materials, creative building skills, and a whole lot of love. Nothing fancy by any means, just a fun spot to hide away with loved ones! We celebrate the simple things in life here. It's perfect for couples, small families, or upto 4 guests in 2 beds. Take a walk out the door into the woods, play down by the stream- have a campfire- or spend the day with your nose in a good book. The loft is fully stocked with paints and brushes if you're feeling the flow! It's just a great place to let go, and relax! The sky is intense- the owls are loud, and there is plenty to do within a short drive incase ya get cabin fever and want to get back into the world for some fun! Make sure to save some time to take a paddle on the canoe, kayaks, or paddleboard that we leave down at a nearby pond for you! As fellow travelers, We have been blessed to have stayed in some cool places in our adventures- and now it's our chance to share our little slice of nature paradise with others! Weekend Trip to Camping With Wolves, Acadia Area

We had a phenomenal time car camping under the stars here. Heather was a phenomenal host and saved (quite possibly MADE) our trip. A last minute booking led to one of our favorite memories together. We lit a fire and stargazed in her peaceful yard. Heather provided everything we needed to make the night unforgettable. Would definitely recommend you make staying here a priority. We can’t wait to come back.

What a great place! If you're very lucky (and dedicated), you might be able to book a place inside Acadia N.P. Or you could just stay here, be only 10 miles from Acadia and be surrounded by wolves (and other animals). Plus, Heather and BJ are absolutely lovely people. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Camping With Wolves, Acadia Area

Over all a great camping trip. Heather was an amazing host and was very flexible and accommodating when my car broke down and we had to stay an extra day. I plan on going back next year but renting the cabin which was absolutely beautiful. The firewood on site is expensive but worth it. The $4-5 stuff you see everywhere up there gets burned through in less than an hour. The large bag from here lasted all night and then some.

Great location for exploring the Bar Harbor area without all the crowds and congestion. Locked gate provides security and access was hassle free with use of your own key. Minimal personnel contact for check in and check out. BJ and Heather were wonderful hosts, we will be returning soon and hopefully often!
