It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others.
My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable.
There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes.
The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside.
There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $5 per bundle.
The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running hot and cold water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

The campsite is set just off Rocky Point Road (a quiet dead end dirt road). While the tent itself is visible from the road, traffic is light — mostly neighbors and the occasional car misled by GPS heading toward nearby Sears Island. The campsites true gem is a wooded trail leading to your own beach access just ten minutes away. The site includes a sturdy platform tent with a queen-size bed frame (BYO bedding), a private off-grid toilet with a compostable bag system for your bathroom needs, and a simple camp shower bag you can fill with your own water for a quick rinse under the trees. There is no electricity or running water on-site.
Explore two short wooded trails (interrupted by Fire Lane 3) to the stairs that lead to your beach access. Great car camping site and awesome hosts, super friendly and welcoming, Shane made sure I had fire wood and recommended that I take a short walk down to the pond in the morning to catch the sunrise and it did not disappoint! Gorgeous! I was only there for one night for a quick solo camping trip to go visit the Dambo trolls in the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens also highly recommended going there during your stay!

Okay, this place is amazing! It has always been a dream to have a fire on the beach, and this place made it happen. The tent and campsite were perfect, well-maintained, and provided a gorgeous spot to unwind. My dog loved being able to be off-leash here, and we both enjoyed running on the beach. Weekend Trip to Moss + Tide
This site was wonderful. The beach was one of the best that I have encountered on the mid-coast. We spent hours exploring the beach and were able to walk out to a small island at low tide. The site itself was well-equipped. The tent was cozy and the shithouse was so clean that the kids didn't bitch about it. We were happy to wake up to the sounds of woodland creatures and the sunlight shining through the trees, illuminating the beautiful wilderness around us. Others have noted the proximity to the road and sound from vehicles but that didn't bother us at all. The road itself has only a few residents. It still felt private and secluded and it was a weekend of smiles and laughs. We look forward to camping here again. Sorry about the plant pot!

4 nights at Moss + Tide
We stayed here around two weeks ago and we loved it so much we had to come right back!! We stayed longer this time, from Wednesday through Sunday. On Thursday it POURED down rain for seriously 24 hours straight. Not just a drizzle, POURED. I can very confidently say that this tent is very weather proof - no leaks, no wind gusts making it fall apart. It was nice to know we were safe/dry in the tent. It’s also more than big enough to set up our camp chairs inside and do a puzzle and read our books inside all day. Thursday night went to dinner at The Club (5ish min drive away) - AMAZING food and really good with gluten allergy.
We saw multiple deer, blue jays, other birds, squirrels and a skunk at the camp site. At the beach we saw crabs, razor clams, more deer, birds, and specifically a giant beautiful heron.
Friday we went to Acadia National Park (1 hours 20 min drive) and spent all day in Bar Harbor and the park itself hiking and exploring.
Saturday we sat at the beach all day and read :) we got Carriers Mainely lobster - one of those seafood shacks for dinner with steamers and fries (20ish min drive)

Weekend Trip to Moss + Tide
This was the BEST Hipcamp stay we ever had!!!! Everything about it was perfect - we appreciated the tent, bathroom set up, fire pit, picnic table, and outdoor chairs. The setting is perfect, we had two dogs with us and it was private enough that we could let them off leash around the site. We were so cozy and content!! It unexpectedly rained one night from 3am-7am-ish (rain was NOT in the forecast) but we didn’t care because the tent kept us perfectly dry while we were sleeping. The tent even had some cute little extras in it like a little plastic storage bin and hanging cubes for extra organization.
Then, the beach!!!! Oh my god, just amazing and perfect. It’s accurately described in the listing, there really is a bit of a hike through the woods to get there, but it wasn’t that long. It is very well marked as well, which we appreciated.
We loved it so much we booked to go back in a week and a half!! Lol

The site was clean and in order. The tent and surrounding area was nice for what we needed - a home base. If you are expecting a very private site this will not be the best location, but if you are okay with the occasional car driving by this site will work well for you. Overall a nice experience and within driving distance to a lot of cool places in Maine. The beach access was nice and a very quiet spot in the morning.

Weekend Trip to Moss + Tide
My husband and I stayed here just for one night, and we wish we had planned for 2! The camp was exactly as pictured and more. It was close to Stockton springs but still felt very private. The beach was about a 10 minute walk through forest and down some stairs, and we spent most of the afternoon there absolutely alone. The camp itself was clean and spacious, and the bed was pretty comfy. We would definitely stay again!!

Such a gem of a campsite! And amazing, kind hosts. The site itself is down an old stagecoach road lined with apple trees — very secluded with no other campers around. We brought our paddleboards, spent the day on the water, followed it up with a hot outdoor shower, and topped it off with fresh strawberry shortcake and jamaican jerk chicken from Beth’s farm market down the road. So good!

So much. Beth’s, which is right down the road, really has everything you could need for a camping weekend. You’re also close to Warren (St. George Pizza), Waldoboro (Odd Alewives, Idas Wine Bar @ The Waldoboro Inn, The Waldo Theatre), Thomaston (Uproot Pie Co @ Carriage House), Rockland (Cafe Grazie, Sammy’s Deluxe, Luce Spirits, The Farnsworth Museum), Rockport (Seafolk Coffee), and Camden (Winona’s, First Fig, Megunticook Lake, Camden Hills State Park)
Amenities: There’s a platform for your tent, a picnic table, firepit, and adirondack chairs. When we showed up, the hosts left fresh cut flowers at the site for us. There was also a little toilet + trashbag set up but we just used our luggable loo camp toilet + wag bags.
