Our guests are welcome to kayak, canoe, swim, fish, and paddle board from the shores of The Queen’s Property, or one of 5 Right of Ways on Watkins Shores Road owned by our Association. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. I’m so excited to share the experience of staying on a rural Maine island. On our generational 1860s saltwater farm, you’re surrounded by all the scenery, wildlife, and serenity Maine is known for- old stone walls in the field, pine forest trails, the rocky coastline and private beach. This is a rustic but comfortable stay. **There is no power or water** but for your comfort you’ll find: -Comfortable Queen bed, with mosquito netting and all linens included. Everything, including the comforter, is changed for every stay, so you can just flop on the bed and relax like you’re at home. -Towels and beach blankets provided. -There is an immaculate Porto Potty (only for your use) and hand washing sink with soap located next to the barn, well lit for access at night, **currently no shower (may be adding one for 2026/27 will update reserved guests if so )** -Charcoal grill- lighter fluid and charcoal provided -Small propane camp stove- propane included -Charging station for your phone -Lanterns, flashlights, solar lights -2 gallons of drinking water, -Basic cooking items, plates and utensils, -Cooler for storage provided (please bring your own ice). ***Please note the closest grocery store is in Wiscasset, 15 minutes away. Old Quarry Campground is on the site of an old granite quarry. We have 13 tent sites, each outfitted with a 12x12 tent platform, fire ring, and picnic table. Two of the 13 sites are ocean front, and 3 of them are RV accessible. Our campground has many ocean based activities including rental kayaks, canoes, sailboats, SUP's, and motor boats. We have certifed kayak guides and sailing instructors on staff who can take inexperienced boaters out on guided trips. We also have charter boat trips out to see many kinds of wildlife, to swim in a fresh water swim quarry, and to haul lobster traps. If you are up for an adventure, Old Quarry is the place to be.

Weekend Trip to Four Acre Woods Island Campground

We absolutely loved our stay at Four Acre Woods Campground. If anything we wish we had stayed longer! The campsite was out on a very quiet island, truly not too far from our outings. We stayed on the primitive secluded site which was absolutely perfect. It was very spacious, with tons of privacy, located steps away from the community cabin. We wish we had more time to enjoy the community cabin as it was warm, filled with books, games, cookware, utensils, lanterns, ice, tea, coffee, local guides and cozy sofas. Our campsite additionally had a private walk way to the bathrooms, which we were pleasantly surprised by for a campsite! The shower was equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body wash if needed, and the bathroom was as clean as you could possibly expect a campsite bathroom to be! Firewood was easy to purchase and bring over to our campsite which we appreciated. The hosts were very kind and helpful and we truly hope to be back again next year to hopefully spend a much longer stay at the four acre woods and get a chance to experience the onsite sauna :) thanks so much for having us! Would 110% recommend. (Ps. Just beware of deer and wildlife on the drive in, it is deer isle after all ;) )

Okay, this place is amazing! It has always been a dream to have a fire on the beach, and this place made it happen. The tent and campsite were perfect, well-maintained, and provided a gorgeous spot to unwind. My dog loved being able to be off-leash here, and we both enjoyed running on the beach. Don't miss this site!

My son (age 12) and I have been to Four Acre Woods for the last 2 years and really enjoyed it. The first year we tent camped and this year we stayed in the yurt. The campground is very small, which we like and each site is unique. Lots of amenities for such a small campground, they really think of the little things that keeps camping comfortable. The yurt was wonderful and the campsite has everything you need (we brought too much stuff). Just bring yourself, clothes, and food and you are good to go. We are fairly local, so it is a great weekend getaway, but we don't really explore the area when camping. If you want to experience the downeast Maine coast away from the more touristy spots, this is where you want to go.

We loved our time at Slippery Rock Trail! The site is very private, quiet and well-maintained. We loved being able to kayak along the river and take naps in the hammock. The bed was comfortable and the outhouse was clean & well-stocked. The hosts warmly greeted us when we arrived to take us to the site, gave us a map with the surrounding walking trails, and made sure we had everything we needed to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. :)

Beautiful private place with a 360 view of the mountains! Completely impressed by the stone picnic table! The turn is a bit hidden so drive very slowly — we reached the top of the mountain and had to turn around because we went too far. I think the sign is a little hidden within the bushes. Otherwise, such a lovely stay! Would return!

Weekend Trip to Moss + Tide

This site was wonderful. The beach was one of the best that I have encountered on the mid-coast. We spent hours exploring the beach and were able to walk out to a small island at low tide. The site itself was well-equipped. The tent was cozy and the shithouse was so clean that the kids didn't bitch about it. We were happy to wake up to the sounds of woodland creatures and the sunlight shining through the trees, illuminating the beautiful wilderness around us. Others have noted the proximity to the road and sound from vehicles but that didn't bother us at all. The road itself has only a few residents. It still felt private and secluded and it was a weekend of smiles and laughs. We look forward to camping here again. Sorry about the plant pot!

This place doesn't try to be anything it isn't and my host is every bit as authentic as the property she shares.
