This is a cozy place with led lights & solar lights, candles, gas cook range, gas refrigerator, wood stove, a dug well with hand-pump in the kitchen (pump can not be used when the temperature is below freezing) and a log cabin outhouse. King bed in bedroom; twin bunk beds and queen pull-out futon couch in great room Fully outfitted with dishes, utensils, pots,/pans, linens/blankets/pillows, books, games, oil lanterns, camp/bag shower and more. Firewood is included in the rental price. Propane, paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap are also provided. All Wheel Drive or 4WD is needed to access the cabin in winter and mud season. WINTER CONDITIONS (when ground is frozen): -4-wheel drive or All Wheel Drive needed. -There is NO running water from the well pump when the ground is frozen. The sink can be used with a bucket underneath. Michelle's cabin was a great spot to stay overnight, she was communicative and clear with directions and always easy to get in touch with. The cabin was quaint, cosy and fit 3 people without a problem, the outhouse and shower were clean and super helpful, too - definitely would stay again!

We stopped by Randy's on our way to Baxter State Park! A-Frame was so cozy, clean and private!! Randy came out to greet us since we were having a little trouble getting here later at night. Very friendly. The outdoor shower is very cool and everything is well thought out. Would recommend to everyone and hope for the chance to come back.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin was cozy with everything we needed for cooking right on hand. Super easy to get to, which made the trip more relaxing. The location was prime, about 100 yards of waterfront to enjoy, with sunny mornings and shady afternoons that were perfect for hanging out. Our two dogs had the best time. We’d absolutely come back!

The little red cabin was a nice place to stay. The river access is prime and the fishing was excellent. Coffee with the warm sun on your face while kids ran wild felt good. Leketa is fantastic and has lots to offer for your stay, we were glad we did.

The perfect combo option for a group where some wanted to tent camp and others prefer real beds! This site was incredibly spacious and well spaced from the other A frames and the bathroom was one of the nicest we've ever experienced while camping. This was our first time camping with our dog and Randy made it easy for us by supplying a cooler, water, fire starters and wood, etc. You're very close to Bangor, but you would never know it. The only downside was that being nestled in the woods, it was extremely buggy - come prepared!

The Little Red Cabin has a beautiful view of the water from it's porch. Leketa and Hillary have it well stocked with cookware, stove, and wash area. There's an outpost with all kinds of useful items available for purchase. The fishing is great and I suggest renting the canoe for better access and sunrise views. The bed was comfy. We spotted an eagle in the morning. The loons serenaded us to sleep. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

We loved every part of this place! The cabin is cute, it's in a wicked beautiful setting, tons of amenities. I'm used to more bare-bones camping and therefore over-packed -- we didn't need half the stuff we brought because Leketa and Hillary thought of basically everything. They were also very friendly and kind, gave great directions, and had helpful tips for our stay in the area (like swimming in Lake George, and Vittles for breakfast). Loons were around pretty much the whole time, and we also saw deer, bald eagles, geese, fish, frogs, and turtles. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

We loved Colby's cabin! It was quiet, comfy and felt like home after weeks of primitive camping. Loved the Cribbage table, plant and bird ID cards, running water and stocked kitchen. The flowers and new front deck were added bonuses. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The cabin layout was perfect for the room, and the decor made it feel so homey! Mosquito nets on the doors were so welcome! Thank you for letting us stay at Colby's cabin!

Weekend Trip to Colby's Cabin

Colby's Cabin was just great. I used it as a base camp to investigate surrounding waterfalls in Maine and New Hampshire over a few days. Note: If you're going after Angel Falls during the spring season of road washouts, rent a tank. Those roads are treacherous! I made a bunch of new memories, took some great pictures, and endured the consequences of my own poor choices! Back to the cabin, it's well-appointed for an extended stay. The kitchen is well-equipped, the propane stove works well, and all the solar-charged LED lights work very well. The JoTul wood stove is perhaps oversized for Colby's Cabin; that thing is a blast furnace! Guaranteed to keep you toasty even in the cold winter. If there's anything to be wary of, it's the road up to the cabin. An all-wheel drive vehicle with good ground-clearance is absolutely required. Also, owing to its construction and orientation, the inside of the cabin is on the dark side even during midday. Thankfully, there are plenty of lights and candles available! I also enjoyed the guestbook, reading about all the warmth and love that has passed through the cabin over the years.

Cabin was absolutely cozy and it’s nice to go back when times are simple. A simple walk in nature with a child experiencing and teaching things that we learned as children was so meaningful for all of us and we anticipate returning for a longer stay. Aranka by far is the best hostess I have encountered. The farm fresh eggs were delicous. Can’t wait to return.

Lovely cabin! The log walls lend so much charm. The Jotul wood stove is easy to work with and burns very efficiently. We loved the motion-activated lighting that made it easy to move around (with few windows, the interior of the cabin is quite dark). Several solar- and battery-powered lamps located throughout create very nice ambiance, but if you need lots of light for focused tasks (like reading, assembling puzzles, and knitting) you might want to bring extra lanterns and headlamps. During our 2-night stay, some of the lamps burned out and we were glad to have headlamps to fill in. There's not a lot of room to roam around outside the cabin (we went for a walk in the woods but encountered No Trespassing signs before we'd wandered too far) but if you're ready to drive to activities, or to cozy inside for quiet cabin time as we did, this is a fantastic retreat.

Super relaxing, the cabin had charm to it. If you need an escape from the noise of modern-day life but don't want to rough it this is it. The cabin stayed very warm on cold winter nights getting close to single digits. We plan on visiting again. Aranka was an incredible host!
