Call for availability and to answer our confirmation questions.  Weather/freezing conditions exist from November until early May.Daylight disappears early, gps is sketchy. Weather can be well below freezing and the outside water will likely be unavailable. If you have adequate gear for the conditions we allow all season camping. Submitting a request does not finalize or guarantee a reservation, property approval is required. . Before you make a reservation read the description of each site.  Read all of the info, and when you submit your request please include/verify the following info: Is everyone in your group at least 21?/No kids or pets with you.? What sort or camping unit.? Tent/RoofTent/RV/Hammock/Trailer./Van./ Bus etc?  Calling, directly by telephone in advance is mandatory to arrange your arrival appointment.. Clarity with your request is necessary. At check out look at the “extras” section to include any pre purchases or rentals. 

The sounds of the  night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away  from the masses  The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. Always call, we can answer all questions to get you into the right site for your style of adventuring. With each listing  be sure to READ all the information and the rules.  If you are interested in a spontaneous camping adventure, if your luggage got lost or if you just don’t want to deal with transporting camping gear we have a variety of rental equipment.  Last minute reservation requests may not work via the reservation site but we may very likely have a space. Any questions, call two zero seven six six seven three two four four, calling is the only way to be certain we ( at the physical property) receive your communications and it is important that you also check back to your app to see if they ( hipcamp) have sent you communication pertinent to your reservation.

Ellie's RV spot

Ellie's RV Spot is a single RV site designed for use by any length Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans/off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and screaming fast wifi are included.

&nbsp;All RV's including off grid and pop-ups must set up on GRAVEL PAD only. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system.&nbsp;Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions.&nbsp;**Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.**&nbsp;The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent.&nbsp;

A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season.

Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section.

Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions.

Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar.

While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast.

Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2024 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient.

2025 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding.

We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours.

For winter stays  please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp&nbsp;electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~ April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter.&nbsp;Snow might prevent access during some weeks. Request first!

Rockstar tour buses are always welcome, we have space and 50 amp electric to power them.

Bring your toys. The Downeast Sunrise trail for ATV and bikes starts at Washington Junction in Ellsworth.

Hillside Gateway to Acadia/Schoodic

We now have water!  A 300’ well and a hand pump make for some ice cold water onsite, It’s a little rusty in color but great for washing dishes and bathing. Space and privacy!  3 acres to yourself, sweeping views and sunsets including a glimpse of Cadillac Mountain from across the Bay.  12x12 cozy shelter!  No electricity in the Timber Tent, but there are power outlets on the electric pole at the beginning of the driveway.  Feel free to bring your tent, camper or stay in the cabin.&nbsp; Room for 4 and a few more on the floor of the Timber Tent.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;There is a small futon inside.  This site is 10 miles from Acadia National Park (Schoodic side) where there are mountain bike and hiking trails. Want to swim and kayak in&nbsp;freshwater? Jones Pond is just a few miles away and has a public beach.&nbsp; Take a ferry to Bar Harbor and then retreat to the quiet side of the Bay.&nbsp; Hike Schoodic Mountain and take a swim at the end on Donnell Pond.&nbsp;&nbsp;Restaurants and shops are ready for you in Winter Harbor.&nbsp;&nbsp;Enjoy the sunrise trail for 4 wheelers only a few miles from the campsite.  With 3 acres of clearing and&nbsp;60 acres on the property to explore, you can Enjoy all that DownEast has to offer.

The site is accessible by car, has a picnic table and camp grill on the premises.

The Point

The Point is located in Gouldsboro, in Downeast Maine on the Schoodic Peninsula near the Schoodic portion of Acadia National Park on occupied Wabanaki land.
The point is our home, offered to guests as a place for seekers of peace and solace to gain a better relationship and appreciation with nature in a world that has forgotten the importance and connection we all have with the planet that sustains us.
A priority here for me is keeping this land pristine and respected. Our mission to save and protect our natural environment and keep it natural and wild can only be accomplished with the active mindfulness of you. We aim to prove that hipcamp can be a magical experience for private landowners and campers alike, to provide a means of temporal community and beneficial alternative to traditional campgrounds; one that does not degrade the environment and break the peace that small towns still contain.
Please be mindful of the trash you generate and mindful of the noise you are making— we aim to provide seekers of peace a *quiet* time in nature.
