This campground can be found within city limits of Dwight, Ks located in northern Morris County along the Union Pacific Railroad line. It's the perfect place to stay during your back road adventure through the Flint Hills.
Enjoy exploring the four corners of our small town on two feet, two wheels or four. Have a picnic or play horseshoes at the City Park, visit the Dwight Library or attend a Sunday service at the Community Church. On Main Street you can find two large limestone structures from the early days of Dwight - the old limestone hardware store and the limestone bank/post office.
Dwight is minutes from Ag Heritage Park and Museum in Alta Vista; the historic Council Grove with shopping, restaurants, lakes and Flint Hills Nature Trail; and Fort Riley Army Base, home of the Big Red 1.

A hidden gem in Topeka, KS. Roughly 44 acres and 41 buildings and cabins for your stay. We have a creek that runs through the property and you can bring your kayak or fishing poles. We also have roughly 3 miles of wooded trails for you to explore. There is a playground for the kids to play on, a basketball court, and a sand volleyball pit. This is very camp at the lake style. Bedding is not included for camp bunk beds. Cabins do not have restrooms built in, but we have shower houses on site for you to use. They do have electricity, heat, and air conditioning. We have grills on site for cooking as well as a bon fire pit to enjoy smore's. Dream Acres at Forest Park is 4 miles away from Lake Shawnee. The World-Famous Topeka Zoo is 5 miles from the park. There are turkeys, deer, fox, raccoon, quail, pheasants, and so much more. part of the property is 50 yards from the Smoky Hill river, no facilities on site, but we do have water to provide you with. There is a heritage wheat mill within 1 mile that hosts a scenic steam train that runs on schedule several days per week. We even have a "Clay water pit" with very healing Clay in it, and you can rinse off with our high mineral content well water in a cold plunge (Stock tank with water in it, fresh filled ha ha) Fun place not set up for "glamping" yet; you definitely need to be a little bit rugged.

Dave's property is amazing! There are lots of places to explore, his land also borders Fancy Creek wildlife area. Dave was very down to earth and very interesting to talk to. He has extensive knowledge on survival skills, he also teaches classes. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, very quiet and private. There is also a nice playground for kids

We were making our way from the west coast to the east coast and found this place to stay. It was beautiful, even in the fall/winter time. We stayed warm and cozy in the yurt and had a beautiful view of the lake. I would definitely recommend to stay here and we would come back.

Our third visit to Blackthorn and we love it more every time. Camping areas are spread out amongst the woods, and it’s really lovely in cool fall weather! We had a very windy weekend, but our site was nicely blocked from it, so we could just enjoy the sounds from the blowing trees. Great visit!

Dave’s land was wonderful. There’s lots of cool trails to explore that are well maintained. Our little corner was full of wildlife and right by the river. I can tell Dave puts alot of time and care into his space, and we are so grateful we got to explore it. Dave was a great host and I would recommend this spot to anyone!!

We stayed one night at Steve and Sharon’s land during our road trip from Nebraska to Kansas, and it was such a lovely experience! My children absolutely loved it — especially the Yut, fireplace and adorable, friendly horses that my younger son couldn’t get enough of. The Yut was spotless, cozy, and very comfortable. It was so beautiful in the night under the moon and stars. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We stayed in the yurt and it was awesome! We enjoyed not having to set up a tent and it was already set up and the inside was very nice! We were on the way to Colorado so glad we found this place! They were very responsive and very helpful. We chatted with Steve for a little while when we got there after he showed us back to the campsite. He is very friendly and would highly recommend!

Having literally everything we needed already at the site was so thoughtful and made our trip stress free.
