We are on 7 beautiful acres in Baldwin City, KS. We're in town, but you'll feel like you're secluded in the country so you get the convenience of being close to downtown Baldwin, just 3 minutes away, while also feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere peacefully camping, just you and the birds. Our "glamper" is a 1960's retro camper that has been fully restored. The outside still looks very retro, but when you step inside you'll instantly surrender to the relaxation that awaits. Sink into the pile of fluffy pillows, take in the breathtaking boho vibe and the many amenities including A/C and Heat, wifi, a microwave, television with Netflix, refrigerator, waterless toilet and hand-washing sink. Games and snacks are tucked away in the kitchen area for you to enjoy your leisurely time at The Nest! With a large deck on the front you can take in the views of a nearby pond and a meandering creek which serves as a wildlife highway. Don't be surprised when a deer walks within view or a blue heron flies overhead. The deck is adorned with overhead lights that stretch to a nearby firepit and outdoor sitting area. On the other side of the camper you can snooze your worries away in the hammock, perfect for napping or reading a favorite book. The pond, just feet away from the camper is full of fish including crappie, catfish and bass and fishing poles are available for your use. Near the pond you'll find a small shelter house for up close views of the pond. The family of geese and ducks you'll see walking around are permanent residents of Duck's Landing, hence the name. Bill and Nancy were so kind, you can tell how much work and care they put into their property over the last 40 years to make it a magical experience with an emphasis on kids and families in mind. I loved going down to the creek with the kids and looking for fossils(there is an abundance of unique fossils!) skipping rocks, and jumping across the stepping stones. Watching my son and his friend play so freely made me feel extremely nostalgic, we live in the suburbs and theres not as many opportunities to allow the kids to run around and have free reign the way they were able to on the farm. I got to talk to the owners for a while and hear some of their story, each and every facet of the property has a unique history and personal story behind it, you can feel the memories made in the space. Bill is a very handy craftsman and artist and he was behind many of the structures on the farm along with other creatives over the years. We brought our two small dogs and they did a great job keeping pets in mind with the design, we had a fenced yard that the dogs could stay in while we explored, unfortunately one of our kiddos left our gate open and one of our dogs got out later in the evening, I messaged the owners and they got up and found my dog! I was really worried because of how open the space was. Truly wonderful people, and a truly wonderful farm with many opportunities for family fun and interacting with nature. 10/10 would recommend.

Absolutely amazing. The host was very kind and informative on the land. We got to explore a ton of the land and it is full of wildlife and just has a really magical feel to it. My wife and I definitely got the recharge we were needing. Thanks Susan! We will be back and maybe bring the kiddos next time :)

3 nights at C2T Ranch on the Saline River
My husband and I spent an extended weekend at the county romance tent and had a wonderful time. The host Chad and Cynthia were kind and very accommodating. If you love to hike and explore on your own this is a wonderful place to do so! Also their dog Abigail was wonderful tour guide.

We absolutely loved this place. We rented the camper for my wife and 2 daughters and it was perfect. All of us had a great time and will be back another time. It felt very safe for our two kids to run around and play on the playground and fish and explore. The hosts were very kind and accommodating. If you are thinking about coming out here, do it!

Weekend Trip to Blackthorn Retreat
I had a nice retreat in Dave's Gothic Pod. The pod has a comfortable bed and the heat worked well. I enjoyed a walk in the woods and visits from friendly dogs.

The boys were kind of scared of all the animal sounds, but now its the most talked about thing! The beds were comfortable in the yurt and the lights were pretty at night. Wooded and secluded. Land was pretty and we enjoyed walking around and sitting out by the fire. The barn was great! Host was great!

Loved the camper at ducks landing. The property was beautiful Sarah was very thorough with all her explanations to ensure had the best experience on her property. It was below freezing the entire time we stayed and the heat in the camper kept us more than comfortable she left extra blankets which we didn’t end up using and also she left us extra water since the pump sink was frozen. Had a great time kicking back by the fire on a beautiful cold night in Baldwin city. We can’t wait to travel through again.

We were making our way from the west coast to the east coast and found this place to stay. It was beautiful, even in the fall/winter time. We stayed warm and cozy in the yurt and had a beautiful view of the lake. I would definitely recommend to stay here and we would come back.

I had a lovely stay at The Light Center. The barn was nice and inviting. There were plenty of books to read and a relaxing massage chair.
I would have liked to explore the trails while I was there, but it was freezing and I did not pack accordingly. 😅
Susan's was a lovely host and I would recommend anyone to stay.

Beverly was so kind and welcoming. She made sure I had everything I needed, and blessed me with good conversation to boot. Gypsy was perfect for my needs, and the wide open sky and almost full moon were gorgeous.
