Amidst this landscape, we've erected two buildings, one of which is a shop equipped with a restroom and a charming porch. Nestled on this porch, my wife and I delight in evenings spent observing the deer and other wildlife, fostering a serene atmosphere for relaxation. With a pond for fishing and paddle boating, as well as close access to the Volga River for canoeing and kayaking, there’s plenty to explore. The Volga River State Recreation Area is only 10 miles away and offers more fishing, boating and hiking opportunities.

We have a lovely piece of property to come enjoy a getaway at. We enjoy all of the peace and quiet around here. The night sky is unbeatable in my eyes. We have a small hobby farm with lots of very tame animals. We have 42 acres to roams with lots of trails within the woods that are filled with aged oak trees and many young maple trees. Our property is filled with lots of wild flowers and wildlife.
We are locate 3 miles from the root river if you enjoy fishing or going for a float down the river. There are two caves in our area that are a must see while you are visiting. I you like to hike there is a state park 14 minutes from us that have many miles of hiking trails and horse trails.
If you are more the small town strolling type of person we have lots of small towns around us that are filled with shops and lots of great food! There is a large system of bike trails in our area that make a very fun way to check out some of the small towns.
If you have a family with kids we have a lot of fun activities you can do with your kids, like spending time with the goats and chickens, playing on our playground, or taking a nice walk through the woods looking for fossils!

This property is located in the South Branch Root River Valley, halfway between Lanesboro and Preston, MN. It features two main areas: the lower 10 acres and the upper 14 acres.
The lower 10 acres offer a wonderful setting for an RV setup, complete with a 20-amp electrical hookup and water (please note that 30- or 50-amp electrical service is not available at this time). Wi-Fi is available on this parcel. This area is shared with a pergola, garage, and bunkhouse that serve as the owner’s personal dwellings. Firewood is available for purchase, and all campfires must be kept in the provided fire globe. A porta potty is also onsite for guest use.
The upper 14 acres include a 5-acre agricultural field and a 9-acre campground area. While this area has no additional amenities, it provides the perfect opportunity for a fully rustic night under the stars. A large, spacious bell-style tent is set up for your use, so no need to bring or pitch your own. A fire globe and porta potty are also provided.
The property itself is stunning & gorgeous, with a wildflower meadow and plenty of walking trails. Guests are welcome to explore the entire property at their leisure and enjoy the many scenic vantage points (including a south facing bluff overlook). I would definitely recommend Gossman Goat Farm! It has beautiful views and it was fun to see the goats and chickens. The directions were clear and the sites are clean and well organized. Cathy was very helpful and friendly and her boys ran and gathered eggs.. A great family run business, and the handmade soap was a wonderful souvenir!:)

Steve and Ellen were absolutely amazing during the entirety of our stay. Their help and welcoming personality gave us the best weekend getaway. Steve was generous and allowed us to use his paddle boat on the beautiful pond and wood for the campfire. Keep a good eye out at night for a clear sky of stars. Had a great time on this acre, fishing, camping, cooking, and all. Highly recommend!

We camp a lot, and this is a very unique place. Complete privacy, zero light pollution, gorgeous topography, and wildflowers everywhere, accessible with perfectly mowed trails throughout.
We used the dump station at The Barn Resort just a mile or so away. Or you could dry camp here since there is a porta potty and hose for basic washing.
Star gazing is incredible along with abundant wildlife sightings! Highly recommend. Neil is very friendly and attentive.

We highly recommend this site!! This site is for the camper that loves wide open spaces, gorgeous views, with the space for your dogs to be off leash. After a night watching fireflies and listening to the frogs, we woke to a gorgeous sunrise coming up over the valley. We hiked around the property’s 24 acres on well maintained grass trails through wildflower meadows. It was a warm fall day so we went down to the river to set our chairs and toes in the water for a few hours. We spent time in the nearby towns of Lanesboro and Harmony for Amish shops, antiques, food and drinks, and grabbed fresh apples and pastries at an apple orchard. We enjoyed our stay at Lanesboro Acres and plan to visit again soon!

Camping on Cathy's property was fantastic. She met us at the gate to the property and showed us the way to the campsite. We had reserved a tent site, but debris had recently fallen down so she allowed us to stay at the cabin site. The views were lovely, the toilet was clean and easily accessible, and we felt perfectly at home. We had plenty of privacy and the goats were lovely (our favorite was Allie).

Sue is a wonderful host!! Both Sue and her husband greeted us when we arrived and helped us back into our spot. They were very friendly and made us feel like we were family. The site was very peaceful and the views were Beautiful!! It was very clean and well groomed. They had a table and chairs, firepit with firewood and they had a swing facing the views. The site was nice but better for an RV. It's small and there isn't much level space for a tent. However, it's right on the river and the view is amazing! The campground is on a county highway but it was surprisingly quiet in the evening and morning. It's a nice spot for an overnight stay. I would stay again but choose one of the sites better suited for a tent.
