Two picnic tables are included, 1 plastic serving table and 6 chairs to sit in. One campfire ring (please do not burn trash/cig butts in rings) with grate to cook on. Firewood $6 per bundle paypable on Ven mo. Do not cut any of my trees down or go foraging - backside of pond is a wetland and private & protected property. Several docks around the pond to fish from - use at your own risk. There are no dedicated "walking trails," but you can walk around the backside of the one pond (we keep it mowed) and wander down the long lane. No official "cooking area" - bring a grill, cooking stove or cook over the fire. Please do not cook under any roof, near cabin or on plastic table. Please pack all your trash out. We don't have trash pick up here. All dog/animals feces can be flung in the field/tall grass! Lots of big catfish, bass & bluegill - see our F B page for videos of the fish being fed! If you're done fishing for the night or don't fish, bags of fish food are available for $1! It's fun to watch them! All food is stored in containers in shack. They like to eat in the morning or early evening. Also like hot dogs. You understand that swimming, camping, hiking and fishing is at your own risk and that special risks may be involved with swimming, camping, hiking and fishing. You accept full responsibility for any bodily injury arising from swimming, camping, hiking and fishing and hold owner harmless. We'd love to host you, your friends, and your pets on our 45 acres of woods and prairie! More about the location: 45 acres of combined farmland, prairie reserve, and forest--Pirate Woods is the perfect location for a getaway that still has nearby access to rural community amenities. This property is located 5 minutes from I-70 and 30-45 minutes from downtown Indianapolis. You can also access Knightstown via U.S. 40. Camp Areas: Pirate Woods campsites: are located in an 8 acre forest. There is a communal campfire ring with stocked woodpile for your use. Nearby are a few chairs for your use. You may create a fire ring at your own campsite if a fire ban is not in effect - but please be responsible. Sites 5 and 7 boast the best spots for hammock campers. Fauna: Pirate Woods is home to a variety of animals: great horned owls, deer, a mysterious grey wolf fox, chickens, pileated woodpeckers (and other varieties), finches, rose-breasted grosbeaks and more. Activities and Water: Feel free to walk, jog, or mountain bike the mowed paths. Bringing your own water is best. Though it's a short walk along the property to reach our back barn where there is a spigot available for your use (you may drink it from the tap, but purifying it recommended.) Town (Knightstown): A trip to town is only a 2 minute drive (or bike) away where you can grab Mexican or pub food at local restaurants when you don't feel like cooking over a fire. Additionally, the Blue River runs nearby and there is local access in town where you can rent kayaks. Other Town Highlights: 1. The Hoosier Gym (from the movie Hoosiers) 2. This is a wonderful spot! It is obviously well cared for. We are normally tent camp away from potable water, toilets, etc - so this spot felt like a luxury glamping experience. Truly - I have never been in a clean port-a-potty before. While our experience was cut short due to personal reasons - we highly recommend this spot. You are parking near their home, but it feels private. The site is really well maintained. Jonathan was a great communicator and proactively checked via message to make sure everything was okay for us when we arrived. The swing chairs and fire pit are so wonderful after a long cross-country drive.

Nice quiet place - until sunup when the chickens start to squawking. But really that’s part of the attraction. Site was nice with a fire ring and a relaxing view. Once dark the fireflies came out and it was really cool. The trip from the highway to Tina’s was interesting in itself and showed us a part of Indiana we didn’t know existed. We stopped for a quick overnight on our way west and it worked perfect for us.

Without a doubt, best camping site ever! 90+ degree sunny day and under the canopy our camper was cool(ish) and the breeze from the field was almost like AC. We had friends over for a cookout (under the canopy) and their infant daughter had no issues with the heat. This family was awesome. We met Jonathan's dad, Gary who told us all about the 5 generation history of the property and gave us a tour of the wedding venue next door which they also operate. Jonathan's wife was busy around the property making everything beautiful. The campsite was very well kept, Firewood was available (small charge) and the smokeless firepit (you read that right) was so nice. With a couple more sites underway this is going to be very well recieved in the Agrotourism community. Thanx for a great experience Jonathan. I hope we pass this way again.

My family had a wonderful time while visiting Apple Acres. It is close to town for shopping but far out enough that you can sit outside to enjoy nature without hearing the typical city noise. The site is well maintained, beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. For my family it has the perfect mix of rustic living with modern conveniences. The whole family including our furbabies felt welcome and would love to visit again.

We loved camping at apple acres. We were the only campsite on the farm. it was very peaceful, and comfortable. The site had a lovely ambiance. The adarandack chairs, the hanging hammock chairs, the lighting... everything has the touch of a host who is passionate about the experience of their guests. My kids enjoyed the pond and paddle boat. I enjoyed the trails and the historical of the apple trees.

Liz’s cabin is charming and cozy. The property is beautiful and Liz was kind and responsive. We took our kids to creek stomp and swim at Muscatatuck county park about 30 minutes away and it was perfect, just what we were looking for! I would definitely recommend a stay at nightfall farm. *there is a barn cat that comes and hangs out at the cabin (outstayed his welcome as he stole some of our food and tried to bite me). Just beware if you are not cat people. Liz kindly put him away after we asked her.

We are 30 minutes from Indianapolis, 20 minutes to a gorgeous lake and mountain bike trail and Knightstown has several quaint shops and antique venues for you to enjoy! Please keep all animals on a leash or contained. We do live in the midst of cornfields and forest where racoons, opossums and our pets live. We have outdoor kitties Reginald is a big gray boy who will try to climb your leg if you stand still long enough! lol Abigail and Toby are our indoor dogs, but they do roam outside during the day. We also have 2 new to our farm rescued Great Pyreneese that are adjusting! They are in an enclosed pen behind our barn and should'nt cause you any trouble. You may hear them barking off and on as they adjust to their new surroundings. If you need anything please let us know :D We are always ready to make your stay as comfortable as we can!

Quiet hours from 11p to 7am.  You are just 11 miles from Madison.  Madison has many festivals all summer and fall.  Close enough to drive yet out of the crowded campgrounds and noise.  Bring your floats and enjoy the lake during summer. Must wear an approved life jacket.  Kids must be supervised as there is NO life guard on duty.Fires must be put out when done.   Major Holidays require 3 nights stay.
