Weekend Trip to Little Blue Horse Camp

What a lovely slice of heaven - truly a serene area to reconnect with nature and friends. Little and large thoughtful touches throughout the property, it's obvious the hosts have put a lot of love and energy into this space. The water was too high/swift to enjoy this trip but we will be back to enjoy that part for sure and make use of their watercraft. We visited nearby Leavenworth which was a treat, and had the most incredible experience at Hemlock Cliffs - the water was really moving and we had never seen such prolific spring wildflowers - an absolutely magical place! We found a place to hang our hammocks and enjoyed an evening of smores and campfire and were sad to leave the next day... We WILL be back!

Weekend Trip to MoonLight Grove Farm

It’s big farm than I expected. There are goats, pigs, chickens also cute cat. Shower is available and they provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash. It was very safe and hosts are very kind. Cell is not working that well but wifi is available near there house. Highly recommended!!

1 night at Cabins at Guthrie Meadows

This was a same day booking from a changed route plan in our trip. Although we got there after dark, the directions to get to the cabin were clear and lights were left on to help. The place is as described and very charming. We arrived at 11pm and were able to start a fire, relax, and let the dogs out and wind down. The loft was great for our 14 year old and the queen bed was comfy.

This place rocks. Very serene and lots of beautiful nature to explore. The host Kerry is super nice and welcoming and willing to help. Outhouses are well kept and remove any fear you may have of the old fashioned. There’s also a really sweet dog that may periodically visit your campsite. Would especially reccomend this place if you are looking for a quieter and more primitive camping experience. This is definitely my new go-to for camping in the Kentuckiana area.

Kerry’s Happy Hollow Homestead was a great place to meet up with a friend to camp for the weekend and celebrate the beginning of spring! The property is well thought out and completely off-grid and sustainable. Visiting the pigs was a fun interaction. The sky was clear and perfect for star gazing. There’s a trail on the perimeter of the land. Plenty of caves nearby for exploring as well! Kerry has done a great job being a steward of the land. Talking to him and learning more about the permaculture techniques that he uses was a highlight of our visit! We car camped at one of the tent/RV sites for two nights. I highly recommend this peaceful place for anyone looking to escape into nature and connect with the land! Thank you Kerry!

Weekend Trip to Buck Creek Sanctuary

Ken is SUCH a great host! He gave us a tour of his gorgeous property when we arrived and then provided fantastic recommendations for the area. As for the site itself--it's exactly what we were looking for! There's truly nothing better than being lulled to sleep by the sound of moving water and we had the magical experience of an otter sighting while sitting by the campfire. The site felt private and secluded while having the benefit of only being a 5 minute walk from our parking spot. Highly recommended!

We had the best time tent camping in Nighthawk Forest! The area was well maintained, and the extra resources were a bonus (firewood, trash cans, etc.) . Feels quite secluded compared to other campgrounds. Absolutely would recommend!!

Weekend Trip to Sleeping Bear Retreat

This was such a fun & unique way to camp! The wagon is very spacious and tall enough for my 6'3" husband to walk around in! There were 2 cots and 2 twin mattresses on bedframes. They also had a table and 2 chairs. The bathrooms (real plumbing!) were very close to the covered wagon and they were very clean! We were here in March and the overnight temps were in the low 40s. It was definitely cold and I wouldn't recommend going until it's a bit warmer overnight! During the day it was very comfortable though! The campsite is very close to downtown French Lick and we were able to stop for a coffee and a view of the hotels on our way out of town!

We loved staying in the cabin! It was easy to access, and very cozy, perfect for our group of 6. Glad we brought warm clothes since it took a while to get warm but eventually was very cozy inside. The hosts were extremely friendly and helped us find the cabin. We especially loved petting and feeding the horses!

This was by far the most accommodating and generous host(s). I was so late arriving and they stayed up past midnight to greet me and guide me to a lovely spot so I “could have the best view and also see the pigs in the morning .” Here I was - hours late. They were incredibly gracious and caring. I loved the view and the pigs and the entire location. 😀

The farm adjoins the 75 acre Stranger Hills Organic farm, the oldest organic farm in Indiana. Our 1899 Farmhouse is the only residence on the entire farm. There is a 3000 acre farm to our south. The area is quiet and very private. The campsites are in a grassy walnut grove by a small creek that runs along the eastern border of the property. We have a white deer creek cabin tent on a platform there and 3 or 4 nice level campsites to the north. There is a shaded RV site at the top of a small hill with 30 amp service. We can accommodate a large RV on packed gravel with 50 amp service. the farm is located 15 minutes east of McCormicks Creek State Park. Please note that during the winter months the angle of the sun is lower and the panels do not produce as much power as in the summer months (plus you have less daylight hours) . Depending on the cloud cover you may be limited to lights only in November, December, January and February . There is a generator available for rent at $10.00 per night plus gas or you can bring your own. There is a wood stove and a 13,000 btu indoor gas wall heater for heat, both units provide more than enough heat. There are two window air conditioning units that can be used in, June, July and August. Once you get to the end of August or on cloudy days you are limited to the amount of time you can use the AC units unless you rent the generator. There is a propane cook stove available if you run out of power and 2 charcoal grills (you supply charcoal). Please note that the cabin is still a work in progress and is not 100% completed.
