The Vaudeville Urban Farm Fun!

8 sites · RVs, Tents1 acre · Chicago, Cook
Twenty years of growing this farm... Not what grows here but the farm itself! Stone and brick pulled from the ground till we found the beautiful earth beneath and built an incredible community around it. Or rather, it grew itself from the energy that surrounds it. It's a special spot where you may happen upon a fire in the sugar shack while we boil city collected sap into maple syrup or have an open jam night with world class jazz musicians. Enjoy the morning serenade of our rooster! Really, just come and be here. Though we think we're pretty cool, a few things to note that you may not think are so cool: There is a train that runs directly behind the farm. Light sleepers, may want to bring ear plugs. Bring your tent to The Vaudeville! (RVs, campers, trailers, vans please see the ** at the bottom). Our urban farm is smack in the middle of Chicago only a 10 minute bike or train ride from Downtown, Lake Michigan, The Mag Mile and all Chicago has to offer! Bike the Lake Shore Trail, walk the 606, kayak the Chicago River, catch a blues show or Hawks game or just relax with the goats and chickens in the 9,000 square foot farm that we absolutely love to share with fellow campers! ** We have stopped hosting RVs, campers/vans, pull behinds and larger vehicles because we are finding it difficult to get them in the entrance gate but if you feel amazingly capable with your backing in skills in your rig and you're super patient, laid back and extra cool, let us know and we may be able to make it work!! :)

This property is located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Huntley. It is only an hour west of Chicago. Our ducks, geese, turkeys and chickens will visit you, and you'll see likely see deer, raccoon, opossum, wild turkey, sandhill cranes, falcons, hawks, woodpeckers, coyotes and cardinals, all right from your seat in the backyard. What to do here: Hike all over our six acres of wooded countryside and nearby forest preserves and conservation district parks. If relaxation is your goal, order breakfast from our menu and skip the cooking. Downtown Huntley hosts an assortment of festivals, free concerts, and celebrations throughout the year. The Farmer's Market and antique shops are worth the visit. The Illinois Railway Museum, within 10 miles, is the largest railway museum in the United States. Enthusiasts come from all over to ride on steam, diesel, and electric trains. Kids love Thomas the train and Percy too! When you're ready for a faster pace, head into Chicago, where the city offers unlimited attractions, museums, and amazing restaurants. We do not have full electric and water sites available. Try the Kane County Forest Preserve for this at https://kaneforest.com/location/paul-wolff. Need more ideas of things to do in the area? Ask us! We love being your concierge! Just look to the left of the west facing garage door. WATER: If you need to use the garden hose to fill a 5-gallon bucket or smaller, you can use the garden hose attached to the back side of the house. Willowthorne

6 sites · RVs, Tents9 acres · Lynwood, Cook
A stay at Willowthorne offers a unique getaway experience with fresh air and natural beauty where the sunsets are gorgeous and the stars light up the sky! Our farm is host to nine acres of agricultural space that combines organic farming practices, education and hospitality. We offer tent camping for small groups and retreats. We also allow space for small RVs or Campers (no power hook-up available at this time). Our campgrounds overlook the pond and willow trees. Our area offers an incredible variety of recreational and sightseeing activities. Find peace and tranquility among nature, or travel just 25 miles north to visit the heart of Chicago! We are central to many Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State Parks and beaches. Many good restaurants and breweries are also nearby. There is much to see and do around our quiet little corner. We would like to note that our farm is host to ten apiaries and chickens. The hives are a good distance away from the campsites so guests are safe. We sell honey and organic eggs (based on availability). The honey is a real treat - the spring harvest is a lovely delicate, floral flavor from feed on the blueberry blossoms. In the the summer months they feed on black locust and clover, creating a wildly rich and delicious honey! We also offer seasonal vegetables from our gardens, depending on whats sprouting up. Please ask upon arrival if you are interested in any of these fresh goodies. We are an organic farm with bees and native pollinating insects. Broadcast pesticides, ie. Raid yard guard or similar products are not allowed on our property. You can spray your skin, clothing and personal property with mosquito repellent in your designated camping area. Thank you for your commitment to conserving the natural ecosystem. Please advise that we are a upick blueberry farm, open to the public three days each week during the month of July. Families come to pick berries and enjoy the overall farm experience. While the path to some of the blueberry patches is the same path to the campgrounds, the campground itself is your private space during your stay. Upick guests are not allowed to walk across the campgrounds. If you book your stay during the blueberry harvest season, we hope you will also enjoy the upick experience! We look forward to having you!

A Creek Runs Through It

2 sites · RVs2 acres · Elgin, Kane
When I first stepped foot on this property I literally fell to my knees in awe of the beauty. There were many offers on it but I had to have it so I offered well over asking price. It has been an adventure making it my own over the past 4 years. I even got a pet pig - Alice! I love sharing this beautiful piece of land with other nature lovers. It's rare to have property of this size with this beauty in a Chicago suburb. You feel like you're out in the middle of the woods yet if you drive 5 minutes to Randall road there's any restaurant or store you could ever need. I look forward to sharing this space with you!

Offering a great little spot to overnight as a rest area between Chicago and Milwaukee only 2 miles off of 294. Nothing special but a low cost option to park and relax. Do have a donkey and peacocks that can make noise and do have morning traffic, but the area is indeed rural and the property is relaxing. Site is close to house but our property is your property during your stay.
