Our property has a robust migratory bird population. We see Blue Heron, geese, ducks, song birds, birds of prey, including the occasional Bald Eagle visit our property.
We have a small wetland area and pond, which attract a lot of wildlife, such as muskrat, deer, fox, frogs, turtles, and other small woodland animals.
We have wooded areas as well as meadows, which are perfect for tent camping, and are a short walk from the parking area.
Our property makes a great base camp for exploring local areas of interest.
Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site is just a few miles south of Charleston.
Lake Charleston is just a few miles away, and boasts several nesting pairs of Bald Eagles. There are also fishing, hiking and bike trails around Lake Charleston.
We are very close to Illinois' largest Amish Community in the Arcola/Arthur area, with many Amish shops, bakeries, quilt shops, and more.
Aikman's Wildlife Adventures is in nearby Chesterville.
There is a very nice bike path just to the west of our property. This bike path takes you through Charleston, past the Coles County Fairgrounds, and into Mattoon.

Relax in our quiet lodging right here on the farm where you'll see horses, goats & chickens. For an additional fee, we're happy to offer Amish buggy rides & wagon rides for our guests.
The camper is 28 feet with a 12 foot tip-out. It has one bedroom with a king size bed, and another with a double bed. In the common area there's a sleeper sofa. There's a bathroom with shower in the camper and another bathroom with shower about a 1 min. walk in a separate building.
Our farm is just a 5 min. drive from the Great Pumpkin Patch, Yoder's Country Kitchen and various Amish owned shops. Lake Shelbyville is a 35 minute drive. We are about a 45 min. drive from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and 35 min. from Eastern Illinois University.
This Amish owned camper doesn't have Wifi (TV only plays DVD's). Depending on your phone carrier and plan, you shouldn't have any problem getting cell phone service and internet on your phone. It may be possible to funnel the internet from your phone to your phone to your laptop using a "personal hotspot".

Rebecca & her husband truly take great care of their property and is evident as soon as you enter. Beautiful woods surrounded by starry skies made for an excellent night. They were both very friendly and made sure everything was set up properly including bringing extra firewood, providing detailed instructions, and providing clean drinking water in a cooler which was a small detail I really appreciated. I'd love to come back next time I'm in the area!

The Host: I was driving a, new to me, small trailer back to Missouri. I needed a simple, safe and quiet place to rest for the night. This was it! I literally booked it 40 mins before arriving. Firewood was ordered and ready when I got there. Host was exceptionally quick with replies. And so nice. I couldn't get the campfire going so I never enjoyed the firewood. She was kind enough to refund me for it! Above and beyond. thank you!!
The site: You def don't want to miss the driveway and it may not be quite as suitable for large rigs as the turnaround area is somewhat smaller when the field is uncut. I was worried about it being so close to the road but I didn't want to chance parking out back by the pond since it was sloped. I never got a chance to walk the property bc I wasn't feeling well on my travels. I had all the windows open and it was wonderfully quiet the whole night. I slept great. There was very little "road noise", just the crickets frogs and birds. It was a lovely stopover. Def recommend.

My husband and I along with our two children (4,6) and two dogs just spent an amazing two nights at Rebecca’s place. Our children wore themselves out exploring the trails and we loved playing in the creek. Rebecca made sure we had everything we needed and was the nicest host I’ve ever met! I stayed at Coops Dream Farm as a solo traveler camping out of my Jeep with a rooftop tent, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing stops of my trip. The host was incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.
The property is secluded and peaceful, making it a great place to unwind after a long day on the road. Instead of traffic and crowded campgrounds, I fell asleep to the sounds of nature and woke up to birds singing. As the sun went down, the fireflies came out and put on an amazing show—definitely one of the highlights of my stay.
During my stay, I was lucky enough to spot some local wildlife, which made the experience feel even more connected to nature. If you're an overlander, rooftop tent camper, or just someone looking for a quiet place to disconnect and recharge, Coops Dreams Farm is well worth the stop.
I'd absolutely stay here again on future adventures.

Weekend Trip to Willenborg Woods
We had such a perfect weekend at Becca's place. The spot is quiet, scenic, secluded, and quaint. While it's only about 500 feet from where you park, the A-frame structure still feels very private where it's nestled into the woods. There are miles and miles of trails to explore (we got a bit lost and stumbled upon a very beautiful creek one afternoon) and Becca and Craig are gracious hosts, offering warm conversation and suggestions if you need them. The chickens are friendly, the view from the site is very pretty. The camp shower, while shabby, is hot and refreshing. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to duck out of the city and under the stars.
