We are located right off of highway 30. If you are coming in off of I15 you will continue on highway 30 passing Lava Hot Springs. You will see the KOA East on your right hand side. After passing the KOA East you will start going up a hill. Continue up the hill for .5 miles. You will see a Lava Campground sign take you first right onto Fish Creek Road and then another immediate right onto Fish creek extension road. This road will bring you down into the campground. Lava Campground is a local family owned Campground. Cameron and Annie along with their 2 boys Kash and Jaxson built Lava Campground from the ground up. They have always embraced the company of others and love when people can come stay and play with them. When they decided to build a campground they were excited about the possibility to create a place for people to feel at home and have a great time camping. Just south of its older brother, this land spans Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, and is a crucial spot for supporting caribou populations. None of the animals here are bashful: bison, moose, deer, mountain lions, falcons, elk, and even black bears abound! Beautiful to snap shot from a distance. Just south of the forest, Bear Lake is a fun spot to take a dip after you hike one of Caribou’s dozens of peaks (Mead Peak and Hawks Peak have gorgeous views, as does Big Elk Mountain at the northern tip of the park). At the south end, you’ll find campgrounds, fast flowing creeks, and the Minnetonka Cave at St. Charles Canyon. This is a site to see, but it stays 40 degrees down there all year so be sure to pack a coat, even if you’re sweating above ground. When you’re done, stop in the charming small town of Montpelier, surrounded by rolling hills and full of retro grocers and kitschy eateries. Yum!

This is grain bin glamping. Expect it to be like camping except for not in a tent.. there is power enough for lights and to power your devices. The temperatures are the same as inside a tent. I have 2 bins available that sleeps 2 each. There is a porta potty next to each one. There will be outdoor showers, but currently the shower bathroom, it's up at the barn. This is still under development, so more will be added with every grain bin having it's own unique personality. This is also the best views of bear lake that you can get. This area of the property often as deer rabbits, and sometimes even moose strolling through it. No wood fires during the summer months, as it's too dry. I will provide a gas fire for an extra cost.

Along with a handful of neighbors, within a private property recreational area, we are surrounded by the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, with vehicle access from mid-May through mid-November each year. Pebble Yurt has a 30 ft diameter with a partial loft for a total of 900 ft2 of indoor living space. You will be completely off grid, but with running hot and cold water, solar electricity, and heating and cooling features. We also feature an indoor shower, sink, and composting toilet. Bring your ATV's, mountain bikes, or hiking boots to explore the Pebble Basin. Or take a short drive to Lava Hot Springs for world-class hot pools, water slides, or white water rafting. Fishing in the Portneuf River or Chesterfield Reservoir, exploring the Chesterfield historic town site, or trying out a zipline or go-cart are other local activities. Pebble Yurt was built circa 2010 by a retiring forest service employee to the highest standards. We've used that canvas to create a unique glamping experience for our guests, with the best creature comforts available in a wilderness setting.

Although still technically within city limits, the place offers an atmosphere of it's own, seemingly outside of time. Once a miners camp and stage coach stop along the Oregon Trail, we have worked hard to maintain the buildings and grounds. With an abundance of trees, (bonus if you can name all varieties) the main compound is well shaded through the hot summer months. Our single room, quaint cabins have a shared bathroom with showers and towels available. We are a minutes walk from the hot springs and downtown, so no need to fight for a parking spot!

We loved this stay! The grain bin was super comfy, and the view was incredible. The shower was quirky but worked great. Beautiful spot to have a beer at sunset. Loved the native landscaping too. Definitely worth a stay. Ben is doing amazing, creative building here. Highly recommend!

2 nights at Crazy Cow Farm Adventures

The campers are adorable! Shayna has a knack for decorating and for making you feel welcome and "at home". The fridge was equipped with bottled water, oatmeal for breakfast, and the makings for s'mores over the fire. We had a blast riding the pedal cars to the "Blue Goose" penny-candy store. We stayed for 2 nights on our way from Salt Lake City to see Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and visit natural hot springs throughout Idaho. At the end of our trip, we needed to rest and pack up the camping gear for the flight home. On short notice, Shayna welcomed us, again, for 2 more nights. We were so happy to be there. When we drove in late at night we both exclaimed "we're home"! Everything was clean and cozy. The shower and toilets are a short distance from the campers. It was quiet, even when the goats got out, and so beautiful. We want our family and friends to experience Crazy Cow, and we would love to go back and spend a week to just rest and enjoy the scenery.

We loved it at crazy cow farm. It was so relaxing and fun. The family was so friendly and the animals were very friendly too. There was plenty of space to roam and play and have fun. We plan on coming back year after year, likely even doing a family reunion there too

Very convenient spot with some amenities and easy food next door. A couple little kitties hung out with us for most of the night. It was nice to have a real bathroom but they desperately need to be cleaned. Water is available but heavy mineral content, I could t drink it.

Beautiful steampunkesque glamping spot with a million dollar view on a uniquely and well crafted property. All was clean, including the porta potty which was cleaner than some bathrooms I've experienced. Bedding was fresh and comfortable. Felt we had the whole place to ourselves. We were thankful to have one night of clear sky to watch the stars because it gets so dark out there. We'll definitely be back!

My son and I have camped in many places but this is now his favorite! Our hosts were exceptional, so kind and fun to talk to. I just adored Shayna’s camp and the love and effort she has put into it is so apparent. Best campsite for kids AND adults! There is so much to do. I fell in love with the animals and miss them already! We will definitely return. Already telling friends and family about this gem of a place! If you want animal fun, beautiful sunsets, stargazing, pedal carting, giant sandbox play, games, comfy campers with a/c or heating, and fascinating history all from the best hosts, this is your spot!

We loved camping on Shayna’s land! Hosts were super friendly and took us on a mini tour and introduced us to all the animals. The shower was hot and there was even shampoo, conditioner and towels. I wish we had one more night here. Def recommend!

1 night at Crazy Cow Farm Adventures

WOW!! What a phenomenal stay my boys and I had! Shayna reached out to me before our trip to ensure we had the most comfortable trailer for our needs. She personally welcomed us to her charming farm. The place was beyond adorable, with an atmosphere filled with peace and tranquility. We got to interact with so many animals, including chickens, sheep, horses, calves, buffalo, and pigs. The sheep were sheared to perfection and looked like show sheep! Her friendly dogs visited us often, which we loved. And the puppies!!!! My boys were in heaven. Shayna had so many personal touches to her farm, making it fun and inviting for everyone who stays there. We rented her specialty bikes and had a blast riding around the property. I truly felt like Shayna gave us a gift by opening her world to us. We all need a slice of Shayna's life every now and then, just to slow down and enjoy nature. Everything about the place was perfect and serene. Thank you, Shayna, for creating such a beautiful space for others to enjoy!

Thank you Ben! The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The view from the room is breathtaking with an entire panoramic view of the lake. We loved sitting out at night star gazing and listening to the sounds of the bugs at night. It’s a peaceful spot. Our dogs felt very comfortable we will definitely be booking in the future!
