This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

Trestle Creek Park on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, is another of our favorite places and it's only a 16-mile drive through some of the most picturesque areas of the NW. After a fun filled day exploring North Idaho come and relax at The Lost Fainting Goat Ranch, an amusing name for a place we call home. There is a separate private driveway, and you will have the whole camp area to yourselves, yet we aren't far away should a need arise. You may occasionally hear us (4 busy kids, 1 fat cat, 2 friendly dogs, 1 noisy rooster and 11 happy hens yet still no fainting goats) but we want you to feel like you are in your own private sanctuary. We are offering a new furnished bell tent in a secluded area of our private property in the beautiful mountains of Sandpoint Idaho. Our camp area is along a quiet creek that is visited by deer, wild turkey, squirls and even the occasional moose. There are also those less desirable critters that live in nature like insects, and we do try and mitigate those troublemakers with screens, traps, Diatomaceous Earth and other natural means. This area of our property is off grid with a wonderful shower house built from wood milled from our own land, complete with hot water and a compost toilet. We even provide Starlink WiFi and a way to charge cell phones thanks to our solar charged batteries. There is a fire pit, comfy chairs, a beautiful picnic table, again, made from wood from our own land, and a screened in area with cooking supplies. Our family enjoys hosting guests and we enjoy meeting new people. The most common phrase we heard when we first moved here was "Welcome to Idaho!" We hope you love it here as much as we do. When you reserve your time with us, please look for messages regarding directions and check-in instructions, we like to meet everyone to show you around and it gets pretty dark out here in the country and the cell coverage is pretty spotty in our area. Available only on HipCamp for a larger group: the one bed/one bath with kitchen vacation home can take up to four persons while up to four may camp in the front yard (RV/tent). Two week maximum stay for this type of arrangement. Otherwise the home and RV spot may be rented individually and separately. The rentable large front yard is enclosed with a fence about .5 of an acre. The overall property is about eight acres. There are tall fir trees, grassy area, a firepit, pull-through driveway, shade. There is a large firepit, water, 30A power pole. No sewer for the RV. Most suitable for a vehicle pulling a RV up to 30-foot long. Driveway is flat with wood chips / gravel. Has a picnic table. The house on the property has a front porch with a pergola and another outdoor table with a shade umbrella. No access to the house. There are two driveways, North and South. Enter through the North driveway. There is a long-term tenant that lives in a detached shop on the South of the property and who also uses the South driveway.

This place had everything you could think of for a beautiful getaway. So much more than expected. The treehouse was a great size, with amenities, and great scenery with a creek nearby. Very relaxing to be able to recharge!

Weekend Trip to Cozy Mountain Bungalow

The cabin was great - it was a small shed converted into a cabin that had a single (full-sized? queen?) bed with a rocking chair, an armoir, and a small closet. The bathroom was an attached outhouse with sawdust to soak up waste and neutralize any smells. They provided a camping sink with 5 gallons of water, a camping gas stove, a citranella candle, and plates, bowls, and utensils. The cabin sits towards the middle of the driveway to the hosts' house and they have the friendliest dog. My son and I had a great time. Zero light pollution, no noise pollution, just fresh north Idaho air.

Weekend Trip to Hymas Family Farm Stay

We loved our stay at the farm! The tent was private in the woods and we came up to the farm’s shop for fresh ice cream and fresh eggs and also paid extra to help milk a cow haha our daughter loved the cows! The zipper didn’t work on the tent but otherwise everything was so lovely. We used the cook stove and they had some cook supplies in there too which was super nice. Would definitely recommend , I always wanted to try out glamping and the whole family had a lot of fun with it.

We had a great stay at Chris and Michal's place! It was the perfect mix of luxury (good tent, great kitchen set up, hot water) and camping (on a sweet little creek, very private). Our hosts were also very attentive and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome.

lots to explore in the upper pack river valley. Our experience with Mike as a host was fantastic, very accommodating. The cottage is very cozy and has many little extras stocked insids, flashlights right where you need them if your going out in the night, board games and cards, reading material, a book on the hiking trails in the area, cutlery and the shower works great. We highly recommend this getaway. This cottage would also be a great location to have close access to hunting in the area during the season as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chris and Michal’s campsite! They have loaded it with everything you could need, plus a ton of extras, to make for the best camping experience. The location was perfect and just what we were looking for- close enough to town and the lake, but far enough to see the starts at night and listen to nature. 10/10 experience and I hope we can visit again!

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin. It is a cute and cozy space, not too far from coeur d’alene but outside the city enough to avoid the noise and city lights. The dogs felt really comfortable and were able to run around and explore. We had all the comforts of home away from home and Aran was a really welcoming and responsive host. Would love to go again in the colder months to stoke a fire and enjoy the beautiful scenery in winter

Weekend Trip to A Wee Place in the Woods

Flying squirrel was occupied by girls ranging in age from 14 to just shy of 18. They loved their days there. I could hear the late night laughing and joyful tones of their voices. Having the small fire pit so they could make s'more was brilliant. They loved exploring the camp and leaving their fairy houses for others to enjoy. They are planning their 18th birthday celebration there. Thank you for providing such a beautiful location to strengthen the bonds of family and friends.

A better time could not have been had! Everything was perfect. The gentle rain allowed time for reflection and restorative rest. We laughed, loved, and connected on a deeper level. Four generations and friends gathered and made lifelong memories. We can't wait for our next visit.

The hammock in Flying Squirrel's Nest was so comfy and perfect for reading.
