If you are athletic, you can walk, but it is 4 miles down and 4 miles back. I recommend going early in the morning and take water.
Hot water shower is propane. Bring ice for your ice chest. Bring drinking water. There is a gas grill and propane single burner. Bathroom has manual flush toilet.
This is off the grid solar and there can be days without sun, or other glitches. You can charge your phone and have a lamp in your cabin. WE HAVE WIFI. Good cell coverage.
The panoramic ocean view is spectacular! Very peaceful and relaxing!
Our glamping cabins are in the front 2 acres. The back 17 acres is an old Ohia forest with 500 year old trees and lots of birds. You might even see a wild goat or a wild pig or the mouflon sheep. Our property backs up to the Manuka Forest Reserve.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the treehouse! In fact, we like it so much that we changed some plans so we could spend more time hanging out and enjoying the uniqueness of the space. We loved sitting on the lanai’s and the feelings of peace and serenity of just hanging out in nature! We fell asleep listening to the euphony of frogs. I wish I had planned for more than one night.
The check-in process was very easy - and the instructions and combination were great! I recommend meeting the property manager there instead of self check-in. I appreciated her helpful advice on local places.
I hope we have the opportunity to come back and stay again for a longer time. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a unique place to stay and loves the outdoors!

Truly one of the most magical places I've ever stayed at - we didn't want to leave! We loved everything about our stay, from the fun way to enter the house, to the dreamy fairy-lit path through the forest, to the well-furnished treehouse itself. We kept admiring all of the handcrafted nature of the house during our stay and discovering fun little details. And the bonus was being 15 min away from the park, allowing us to catch an actual eruption! We hope we will get the chance to come back another time!

We loved our experience staying at sky and stone for our week here in Hawaii. The property lays on top of lava rocks and the view of the ocean from our room is incredible. The property itself has everything you need, a clean working shower with toilet, oven with stovetop and fridge. The room has two beds but definitely enough space for 3. The host was extremely accommodating and helpful for finding local gems. Highly recommend staying here for your next trip to Hawaii!!

I loved staying in the Jungle Canopy! It was incredible to hear the birds in the morning when making coffee, and hear the frogs sing at night. The bed was super comfy and it was awesome to have my own bathroom with the cool outdoor shower (with hot water!!). The Canopy is a short walk from the parking area so it’s easy to bring your bag up, just don’t forget to bring some bug repellent for the mosquitos, and don’t forget to go say hi to the goats and chickens down in the garden! This place is a true delight and I’m excited to come back one day.

1 night at Skyes Treehouses
This treehouse was a magical jungle DREAM! There are windows everywhere, allowing tons of natural light in as well as lovely views of the forest/greenery all around. If you want to sleep in, bring an eye mask because the bedroom is at the top of the treehouse and gets bright early (wasn’t a problem for us because we were getting up early anyway so waking up naturally to the morning light was nice). At night the frogs are loud but we enjoyed falling asleep to them. Everything about the bed is AMAZING—the mattress, pillows, and bedding are all wonderful. The vibe of the treehouse is so cozy and peaceful. We wish we could’ve stayed more than one night. It is a bit expensive but once you get there, you’ll see why. Absolutely book this place.
(The ONLY issue we had was initially finding the place. The directions say to look for a gazebo but there is definitely no gazebo. There’s a little carport out front but since we were looking for a gazebo we didn’t think we were art the right place.)

We had the best stay with Vicky! We thoroughly enjoyed the space we stayed in, the dogs (!!), and our morning breakfast! The most gracious hosts! Would highly recommend a stay here!

We loved staying here. The yurt accommodations were exceptional. The location was perfect, halfway from the volcano national park and Kailua-Kona. Highly recommend.
