David’s campsite is easy to find and the perfect place to pitch a tent. He’s great with communication, and upon arrival we met and he showed us around. There’s a pool, which was amazing to swim in at night and stargaze. The soft grass right next to the pool was ideal for our tent. It’s a residential area, so pretty quiet besides some cars passing. There’s a portapotty for toilet use that is clean and the shower was operable during our stay.
Hurricane Lala had just come through a few days before so it rocked the roof off of the kitchen, and the town of Ocean View had power and water outages. It was heartbreaking because you can absolutely tell how much thought and love has gone into developing this space. There are small touches all around that the hurricane didn’t mess with, like the fire pit, gorgeous plants, and solar lights that light the pathway from pool to toilet area. If you’re used to camping and self-sufficient, this is still an amazing place to stay. David even hooked us up with some coffee for the morning. He’s a great guy with a big heart, thank you so much for having us! We truly hope you continue to build and rebuild, it’s a special place. 🌈
