Come join us at this unforgettable camping spot at Historic Castleberry Bridge where the Gold Rush happened, the Indian fish trap still exist, the birth place of Denver Colorado and the hideout of Jesse James just some of the history that happened at your campsite on the Etowah River. Our motto is "Thanks for keeping it clean," so help us spread the word and keep it true! Look for the gate at 851 Castleberry Bridge Rd (right where the bridge crosses the river) and drive through the gate and George (owner) should be there. So you can have a tasty meal with the sound of the river flowing in the background. Also we are within 5-10 minutes to stores, restaurant , etc. But wait, there's more excitement! Hello Campers, We are a 125 acre property that has 36 holes of championship disc golf. The North Oconee River runs through our property as well as three ponds throughout. We have plenty of room to pitch your tents. It really depends on how far you would like to be from the bathhouse. We are 6 miles from Lake Lanier and the Chattahooce River, and a short drive to hiking/mountain biking trail heads. We have a wonderful bathhouse with restrooms, showers and laundry just a very short walk from our sites (maintained by the staff at the park). We're also pet-friendly and love our furry campers! Just add the pet fee for each pet in the extras section at check out or send us an email letting us know ahead of time and we will get that added. Castleberry Bridge has become our go to spot for our annual camping trip, and it truly is a hidden gem! We spent amazing days swimming, tubing, fishing, relaxing by the fire, and just enjoying being together. The hosts are absolutely wonderful, friendly, accommodating, and always making sure everyone has what they need. Free firewood, daily trash pickup, and honestly some of the cleanest campsite bathrooms we’ve ever seen. It’s incredibly family friendly, and we especially love that the dogs can be off leash and enjoy the trip right along with us. 🐾 Our pups give it two paws up\! Another amazing trip in the books. We’ll definitely be back next year!

We ended up staying at campsite #1/2, which offered a great view and was conveniently located near the river. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend staying at this campground.

Beautifully peaceful location! If you’re looking for a peaceful weekend with a gorgeous view, boat rentals and quality fishing look no further! The owners were super nice and very helpful! The other campers and day fishers there were really kind and super respectful of each other! They have electrical hookups for rv/camper use and a clean bath house for use! I truly enjoyed my weekend and 10/10 will definitely be going back often!

I can’t recommend Mr. Gary’s site enough! My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time, and he was a gracious host. This was our first time glamping (we normally camp primitive), and it felt like absolute luxury. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of seating, and the access to electricity was a huge plus. The sound of the bubbling brook beside the camp was so nice to fall asleep to. The location is great because it is peaceful and secluded, but it’s also 10 minutes away from the Main Street of Helen. It’s an ideal location if you want to enjoy the quiet and relax in nature while still having the option to easily participate in civilization. It rained intermittently during our stay, but it did not affect the fun we had one bit. We stayed cozy and clean, especially with access to a hot shower! We did have to fight the mosquitos a bit due to the humid, rainy weather, which would have been no issue if we hadn’t forgotten to pack bug spray. So just remember to pack your bug spray and you will be all right! And don’t sleep on the breakfast menu and other fun packages the host offers. Breakfast was incredible and definitely made with love. It really added to the experience and made our anniversary trip even more special. We can’t wait to come back again! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Nice setting, convenient to nearby hiking, wineries, forest service roads, and plenty more to explore. Very easy in and out for the trailer. Was especially nice to have hookups (to run A/C) in the summer heat/humidity. No issue with the neighborhood dogs mentioned in the description, they were friendly and unobtrusive. I'll be back - but next time in spring or fall when the heat and bugs are down.

You can really tell when hosts have put lots of love and attention to detail in a property. The airstream was comfortable and fully stocked with essentials as well as fun touches like books and games. We could hang out on the deck, with its fans and string lights, for hours... it was a quick visit, but it was the perfect place to celebrate our son's 5th birthday morning. I loved the airstream's design elements, the outdoor shower, fire pit, the butterfly bushes, the nearby trail. Thank you so much, David + Nicole.
