We spent a week at Rusty Acorn Farm, and it was so peaceful and calming. Stephen and his wife were very friendly and helpful. They even gave us soe fresh eggs and cherry tomatoes. Henry and Jack are the sweetest dogs, and we would call for them to come visit us and get a treat. The campsite is a little tricky to back into if you have a long camper, but once you are in, the campsite is better than most campsites you have been to before. The firepit area was so nice, my wife now wants me to do the same thing with our firepit area at home. I almost hate to recommend this campsite, because i dont want it so booked up that i cant get a spot when i want, but it is an amazing place, and I highly recommend it.

Had an absolutely lovely stay at the Rusty Acorn! Stephen and his wife were very welcoming and super helpful. Made sure I felt welcome and had some company but also gave me my space. Made for a wonderful first Hipcamp adventure, couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

Well maintained Hipcamp in a peaceful/private setting. Full RV hookup if needed. Lovely campfire area complete with grill, picnic table and extra seating. Hosts are very kind and we appreciated the great communication. We traveled here for family function but would gladly come back to relax and explore the beautiful Tennessee mountain area. Thanks for being an excellent Hipcamp host and sharing your land with us.

What a wonderful place to stay! We cannot wait to go back in the Spring. Stephen was very helpful with helping us back in, and with anything else we may have needed. Jake and Henry (the canine hosts..lol) were very behaved. We had our dog that hasn't been around other dogs, except for his siblings, and had no problems at all. It was a very relaxing stay! We will definitely be back!

We loved the quiet beauty of this campsite. We watched the rosy colors of the sunrise over the nearby mountains each morning and enjoyed sitting by the fire each night watching the moon rise and the stars appear. We loved the tranquility of sitting by our endless fire and just being together in the moment. The setup of chairs and tables and even a grill were such a nice touch. It was even decorated with seasonal fall goodies. We had farm fresh eggs that were amazing! So many little extras that made our trip wonderful!

The best Hipcamp site this year! Hosts were there if we needed them, but gave us our privacy. Beautiful area of TN we don't get to often enough. More than ample seating around the firepit. Solar lighting was just enough light to lure you to the sitting area. We enjoyed ourselves. The family dogs came by each day to say hi, but they were no bother at all. We ventured out for scenic drives, stopped in the small towns, but really just wanted to return to The Rusty Acorn and kick back and enjoy their peacefulness.

My family and I have been staying at HipCamps all across America as we move cross country. Rusty Acorn, by far has been our favorite stay.
The land is beautiful beyond belief, and our hosts, Stephen and his wife, went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and taken care of.
Many hosts leave you to your own devices and rarely, if ever, make an effort to engage. But Stephen made a point to not only connect with us, but provided veggies from the garden, replaced a broken shade umbrella after a wind storm, and told us some great local spots to go check out that we never would have known about otherwise. He even contacted us after our stay, about an item we left behind, and agreed to ship it to us.
Our entire family (me, my wife, and two kids) thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return in a heartbeat. I highly recommend it!

Ruth and Stephen are the ultimate hosts. Their 30 acre farm and the RV site have endless thoughtful touches. The firefly and star shows at night add to the beauty of the place. Jack and Henry are their good will ambassadors and fun to play with. We were gifted fresh kale, trout, radishes, herbs and we enjoyed farm fresh eggs and a scrumptious chicken. If you enjoy natural beauty and fantastic hospitality this site is for you. Our 3 week stay was absolutely fantastic! Thank you Ruth and Stephen!!!

Fantastic spot! Gorgeous views of fields and distance mountains. Stephen, the host, is a wonderful host - warm and welcoming, responsive, super friendly and helpful, informative, great communication, the nicest host around! The fire pit and grassy area around it are wonderful too. Everything was relaxing and easy. The resident pups are sweet and friendly and enjoyed some scratches and fire side sits with us. They were very gentle with our little 10 month old pup. Our pup had a fantastic time running zoomies around the grassy areas. This spot has been a favorite. Peaceful and away from it all, it feels like a slice of camping heaven.

We are new to using HipCamp, but for a first time try, we found a GEM. This land is beautiful and we got to experience the fall colors in the hills! The set up, with the electric/sewer hookups worked great for us. And the hosts are so gracious, helpful and just great, nice people.
My main concerns before getting here were the chickens (because we have bird dogs) and the owner’s dogs interacting with our dogs, but neither was an issue at all! Their dogs are very friendly and our dogs had fun with them on this wonderful property. The chickens are either in the large coop or stay up by the house, so somehow our bird dogs didn’t find them.
We loved this place and can’t wait to come back.

I've stayed with Stephen twice now & plan on returning. Quiet & private with plenty of wide open spaces around. Lake nearby as well. Stephen is very helpful & likes to share his veggies. His wife is so sweet, too! I'm going to miss them till I get back one day. Highly recommend!

Site is fantastic - hookups are top notch and campsite was level including a clean grill!! Steven had a great campfire all set up and ready to go - complete with lots of chairs, tables and citronella candles. We got a dozen eggs which were delicious for breakfast and they even gave us some summer squash gratis. Very helpful hosts with two sweet and friendly dogs. We’ll be back for an easy weekend getaway from Atlanta.

Stephen was a great host. Very attentive, but not bothersome. He even brought me fresh veggies to eat straight from his garden! His dogs were super sweet & super kind to my 3 dogs who barked at them. Beautiful big sky and scenery all around. Very quiet and private. I stayed almost a month and wish I could have stayed longer. No cell service, but wifi worked great. I was able to work my remote job building websites from there. Went for a swim in the lake nearby every day. Plenty of recreation nearby for outdoor lovers. I took my dogs on walks around the farm & down the surrounding winding, tree-lined roads. The dogs had a blast there. They had a lot of freedom they've never experienced before & it was fun to watch.

Our "country place"

This was our third time at Rusty Acorn. It is such a comfortable, welcoming place for us. My wife and I had another campsite reserved about 45 minutes away, as in this particular instance we had a preference to be closer to town, but it turned out to be not at all a relaxing place when we got there. I did a quick check, and found that Rusty Acorn was available. I reserved it, and we headed over. Ruth had rushed out to set things up for us, and was just finishing when we arrived. Stephen came out to help us get backed in (this is a fairly tricky place to back in -- a tight turn with the trailer, and steep, and on that day also slippery mud). He made sure we had plenty of wood, and (as he always does) encouraged us to burn as much as we want.
As always at the Rusty Acorn, it was a time of rest and refreshment for us. We've come to think of it as just our weekend place in the country, a relaxing home away from home.

Great local country roads for our daily runs, walks and bike rides. Neighbors were always considerate when passing by on the narrow roads.

This campsite is pure perfection. It’s easy to get in and out of the property with flat gravel making it easy to set up. Full hookups with great water pressure. The views are fantastic of mountains and meadows. It’s 15 mins to a grocery, 20 mins to the Cherohala Skyway, 45 mins to the Dragon Tail- perfect location for motorcyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. We LOVED the property owners two sweet dogs and the house chickens that roamed. Stephen was incredibly kind, hospitable and outstanding at responding to anything we needed and more. The outside living room area they have set up feels like you are at a high end RV resort. They have a huge fire pit with lots of chair, picnic table, gas grill and space to sit back and look at the stars. This place is A+ on all accounts.

Stephen and Ruth were some of the nicest people we have met since using Hipcamp! Their property was beautiful and peaceful and Stephen went above and beyond when making us feel welcome and accommodated! WiFi was great for working from our rv while visiting and town was only about 15 minutes away that had everything we could need! Stephen’s dogs Jack and Henry were extremely friendly and we loved having them around our camp! The fire pit area was perfect for chilly night bonfires and the grill was great for making dinner! We can’t wait to go back and stay again! Gorgeous views too!

Our second time there, every bit as great as the first time. Such a relaxing vibe, out in the country, some solitude, host Stephen dropping by occasionally to be sure we didn't need anything. We probably burned a half cord of firewood over the weekend, with Stephen's full encouragement; he brought us a second crate (these crates are about 4' square, and a couple of feet deep) before we were nearly out with the first one. Be sure to get some of the eggs he sells; they're outstanding!
Winter is coming on quickly, and the trailer will be winterized this weekend; but we'll be back in the spring!

They were very nice it was just not a farm farm they really just raise chickens and their house is on the hill above where you park your RV which is a difficult spot to get into
