Friendly dog and cat (they live at my house, but may come to the chapel for a visit). Roam the property and swim in the spring fed pond. The space My vision is that my property (which I've named "Kingdom Come") would be a place of rest, retreat, and enjoyment for others. I am going to build a few cabins for lodging, but my first major project was building a chapel, so that it would be the centerpiece and heartbeat: a place for reflection, meditation, and prayer. I built the chapel myself (with my own hands, and the hands of a couple of friends). As I work on building the cabins, I have decided to use the chapel as a glamping site (better than using it as a "divine" storage building!). My mother was an artist and when she died I ended up with a lot of her artwork. Some of her paintings now fill the chapel. They also fill the space, I hope, with her grace and love and creativity. The chapel features beautiful timber frame construction. As to "glamping" . . . there is no running water/plumbing, but you'll have all the fresh water you need for showers, drinking, etc. Limited electricity for running the kitchen appliances. No AC, of course, but the fan will keep it comfortable in warm weather. As to cold weather, the chapel has an electric heater that keeps it fairly comfortable in cold weather: not blazing hot, but comfortable, unless it gets VERY cold; then, the heater just takes off some of the chill. Zinus Ultima Comfort Memory Foam 6 Inch mattresses are very comfortable! Using the outdoor solar/camp shower is wonderful. The privy is clean and well-ventilated. Appliances: fan; toaster oven; microwave oven; coffee maker; and, small micro-fridge. Lighting is provided by four rechargeable lanterns. Screens on the windows and door to keep the bugs at bay. Outdoor deck features comfortable Adirondack chairs, a Weber charcoal grill, and a fire pit for campfires. I'll provide you with wood (on a donation basis . . . pay what you like) campfires. Matches and paper provided, too, to help get the fire started. The play area offers opportunities limited only by your imagination. Sunbathing? Stargazing? Badminton and Bocce balls provided if you want to play! Weekend Trip to Woodsman at Starr Mountain Retreat

My buddy and I had a great weekend getaway to relax at the Woodsman Cabin at Starr Mountain Retreat on 23 acres in the Cherokee National Forest near Reliance, Tennessee. This place is the real deal. It is quiet, private, and surrounded by woods with that perfect peaceful vibe. The cabin is spotless, well laid out, and seriously comfortable. The queen bed in the main bedroom and the twin beds up in the loft were both very comfortable. They have literally thought of everything. There is a full kitchen, gas fireplace, grill, and all the little details that make it easy. You could literally show up with just a suitcase and feel like you’re checking into a hotel room. No scrambling for basics. They even had an abundance of dry firewood ready, and they thought of the little things like dry kindling in a bucket ready for use. The fire pit served us well for some great evenings chilling out. The owners were responsive, and it really shows in how well the place is set up. We felt that the advertisements for this location actually undersell just how excellent it is. This is a first-class spot in the woods. Already talking about coming back. Highly recommend it for any guys looking for a solid relaxing getaway. Thanks Nola and Brian! 🙌

Absolutely the perfect cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and only needed to bring our clothing and food. Nola has thought of everything for this cabin all the way down to the kindling for the fire. The beds were comfortable and the hot water was hot. The AC worked great and we loved the fire pit and front porch.

We had a great weekend at Diamondstone! From the cabin to the creek we were able to relax, unwind, and even adventure a little. Brian was kind and a pleasure to talk to, be sure to greet him if you get the chance as he had lots to share with us! The cabin and toilet were stocked with cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and plenty of liners/ bags! Our dog, Vivi had a blast and had lots of space to sniff around. We hope to make it back in the future!

We stayed in a really cute, small barn-style space that clearly had a lot of handmade character and charm. You can tell a lot of it was built with a personal touch, which gives it a unique feel. That said, the ladder leading up to the loft was very petite and a bit difficult to use. Overall, it has potential and a lot of charm! We loved the plants and garden.

Billy took good care of us, and The Chapel is an amazing piece of craftsmanship. The whole property is neat as was his story, and the Finnish sauna routine with the fresh water pond dip is a must. Everything worked as expected down to the thunderbox. The bed/bedding was great, and the wood stack was filled with nice burning wood. An added bonus is that there's very little to no cell signal unless you bushwhack 150' or so up to to the top of the adjacent hill.

My boyfriend and I had such a great time at Brian's place! The little shelter he's built is perfect. I loved every little detail - the cool bed platform, the electric heater, the well functioning windows and blinds, THE PORCH 🤌🏼, the branches used for the railings, charcoal grill, picnic table and fire pit, and like 15 steps from the shelter to the river. Just perfect. It got down into the 30's one night we were there and our little place stayed plenty warm. Brian is incredibly kind and wonderful to talk to as well. If you like camping, hiking, kayaking, swimming, and/or paddle boarding, pretty sure you'll love this spot and the area. Would highly recommend a truck or suv for the drive in as there's a lot of gravel and some pretty large bumps that a lower car may struggle with.

I loved my experience at the little barn house! The cabin itself was very cute, and the atmosphere was peaceful for a solo trip to escape city life. Jon was fabulous and incredibly helpful when I was needing some support. It was fun to have some animals nearby too, though hunting season is real, so something to keep in mind. Overall I am super grateful for my experience and would recommend it for anyone looking for a little getaway.

Brian has created something so incredibly special here! We stayed at Diamondstone and he has added many special touches- the electric candles, little propane stove, wooden benches and handrails.... He is also INCREDIBLY responsive! We could not figure out how to work the padlock to get into the cabin (note: the numbers must be lined up in the GREEN section of the lock) but he answered right away even though it was 10pm (second note: there is no cell service there so you have to go a ways to find it). The cabin is not insulated and the stove does not put out much heat, so if you're coming in winter make sure you have good cold weather gear. My son set up his tent outside and as we both brought winter gear we had an wonderful, peaceful time reconnecting with nature and each other. Thank you Brian for being a wonderful host and creating such a special place.
