You really can’t beat the price! We loved listening to the peaceful, babbling creek. Firewood was provided, though it was a bit wet from the rain that day — luckily we brought some fire starters and still enjoyed cooking delicious meals over the campfire 🔥. The toilet was clean, which we appreciated. My only suggestions: it would be great if the grass leading to the bathroom were mowed so you don’t have to walk through tall, wet grass, and there’s a large hole between campsite #4 and the restroom that we almost fell into — we marked it with a tall stick to help others see it. The creek is a little steep to access from site #4, but still manageable. The only real downside was that the neighbors were extremely loud and playing music until about 1 a.m., which made it hard to sleep. Overall, though, an excellent value and we’d definitely book again!

This is a nice and relaxing spot to camp. It was a lot cooler than where we're from in the summer, at least 20 degrees cooler. It's a large camp spot with you and the host are the only ones there on 40 acres of land. June gives you a notebook of things to do and hiking spots you'd never know about. We hiked the "caves" on Glades rd. They were awesome, and we went to see the Petroglyphs at Judaculla Rock on our way home. We really enjoyed our stay here.

This was our first Hipcamp experience and overall it was a good one! June was a lovely host with a beautiful property that we enjoyed exploring with our kids. There is a grassy plot by the fire pit where you can pitch a tent near part of the creek. While it isn’t too far from June’s house, a tree line provides some privacy. The road is nearby and you can hear cars every now and then, but the sound was infrequent and not a big deal for us. There were lots of lightening bugs when we were there and the display was pretty impressive. Our kids enjoyed hiking in the woods and playing in the creek. June’s pups, Molly and Peaches were sweet and our kids loved petting them. Our only negative was beyond June’s control- there were some dogs nearby (not hers) that barked constantly hours into the night/early morning. This is probably not an issue with an RV, but we will be bringing ear plugs next time. :)

Very beautiful views and kids loved the treehouse. The host were very kind and accommodating. I would recommend downloading the region on Google maps before heading out since cell phone service is spotty. Our favorite spot on the visit was Cashiers Sliding Rock, we probably spent 8 hours out there in total.

We enjoyed every moment (5 nights) at Harmony Glen and can't wait to go back again. The site feels secluded and private because of the trees but it's only about 100 yards from June's (the owner) beautiful home. We hiked the entire property down to the creek, up to the pasture, and then bushwacked our way through the woods to reach the top of the mountain. We camped in a pop-up and were grateful for the water and power hookups.

June greeted us along with her furry friends. The land was gorgeous to walk around on. Wish we could've stayed more than 1 night but would look this place up to stay again. One thing to note on the driveway, we have a 23 ft RV and it was narrow for us with a tall leaning tree on one side and bushes.

Peter’s “Treehouse and SMH” campsite was such a peaceful escape. The mountain views were stunning, and the sound of the waterfall pond added a calming, meditative vibe to the whole stay. It was the perfect backdrop for relaxing and soaking in nature. The space felt quiet, secluded, and well-kept. Peter was a thoughtful host— I appreciate him checking on us. If you’re looking for a serene spot with beautiful scenery and a soothing atmosphere, I’d recommend this place.

Peter was a very attentive host, checking in on us and answering questions about how to handle things on the site quickly. This is a relatively simple cabin with a moderate sized sleeping area with some mild sitting space, not insulated but heated and generally comfortable. There is then a covered dining and kitchen area with camp type facilities. A microwave but then a couple of propane-fueled cooking options. A picnic table and one swing. On the other side is a water closet which takes a little work to keep going but does have a flushing toilet and a somewhat manageable shower. There are several places to wander outside with swings and other exposed picnic tables, including the treehouse like perch on the other side of the property. The views are not spectacular but are quite nice. It is not too far from some nice day trips in the Franklin to Highlands area. My daughter and I found it a nice spot to get away in the mountains for a few days. It's not cheap but reasonably priced given the apparent comparatives with maybe more glam in the cabin but less of a view and feeling of getting away. We were happy to travel to Peter's spot.

Coweeta Creek Campground has water, electric, and septic on Sites 1, 2, and 3 as well as a firepit and picnic table. The bathhouse allows for hot showers and flushing toilets. Site 4 is for tents or small pop-ups. Each site is gravel, shaded, and sits along the peaceful Coweeta Creek. The campground property has a large field for games (kickball, soccer, volleyball), as well as a flat 1/4 mile loop which you can view our mini homestead farm. We have chickens, bees, vegetable gardens, and a small fruit orchard. We recently added a 1/2 mile trail, called Turkey Foot Trail, through the wooded area. The campground is somewhat secluded (some neighbors across the creek), but only 15 minutes from Franklin, NC and 15 minutes from Clayton, GA with plenty of shopping/restaurants. Once you are at the campground you won't want to leave the beauty of the creek! Strong Wifi is available at all sites. Network password will be provided before arrival. Property History: Coweeta Creek Campground WAS a 20 site, thriving, family/church oriented campground from the 1970's that was later sold, then neglected. "There's no place like Dome." Grandpa Squirrel's Dome's sits on 4.1 acres at the base of Granny Squirrel Mountain in the foothills of the Appalachian's and less than 5 miles from the town of Andrew's North Carolina in Cherokee County. Highway 19 abuts the land providing easy access to destinations of your choice. These destinations may include white water rafting, tubing, hiking, cruising the Tail of the Dragon, antiquing, hitting the casinos, and any other adventure of your choosing. Of course, you may also choose to find a place to just sit down, relax, and enjoy the sounds and energy of the noisy creek that pulses along its western border. Perhaps a simple picnic along the banks, or maybe you'd like to feed the fish that inhabit and grace this land. Short History The Cherokee's called this land "Konehete", aka "The Long Valley Place", and it was thought of as, "Cherokee Paradise". They grew the Three Sisters (Corn, Beans and Squash), hunted the rich lands, fished its creeks and lakes, worshiped and gave thanks to the great Creator and to the spirits of the land, as well as the animals which inhabit it. The military removal of what remained of the Cherokee Nation began in 1836 along what we now refer to as "The Trail of Tears". It started here in Andrews, which at that time was called Valley Town. The first fort built along the Trail of Tears was Ft Delaney, all that remains today is the remnants of a stone wall, it lies nearby. Running along the western border of Grandpa Squirrel's is an always running creek which is fed by a mountain top spring as well as rain runoff from the surrounding mountains. Along the creek there are 3 geodesic domes (soon to be 5) which provide 250 square feet of living space within. The domes are furnished with a queen size bed, a small dining area and a place to store your things. Each dome also has a small gravel patio and seating is provided. Additionally, there are propane BBQ grills located at the outdoor community kitchen area, as well as potable water. This is also where you will find your coffee in the morning. Transparency and Setting Expectations: THE BAD There are no flushing toilets. There is an outhouse on site. To avoid trips to the outhouse late at night, each dome comes with a porta potty. If you choose to use the porta potty in your dome, it is your responsibility to transfer the waste to the outhouse and to properly clean it out. Cleaning supplies are provided. Granpa Squirrels is not secluded deep in the woods and off the beaten path., It abuts the main highway and there is a considerable amount of road noise. The road noise dies down at night but returns early the next day as delivery trucks make their way down the highway. With that said, it's also kind of cool to see packs of cyclists and car enthusiasts blowing past the property ready for another glorious day in the mountains of North Carolina.

Chattooga Belle Farm – They Built It! By Tracy McCoy I wonder if when standing on the sprawling in upstate South Carolina, just a short hour trip from Greenville, Ed and Kitty Land heard a small still voice say, “if you build it, they will come.” While there isn't a baseball field on the property, that's about all that is lacking. Chattooga Belle Farm began as an event building set on 138 acres with a small seasonal retail store. Soon people found their way to the soon-to-be full-fledged farm and they felt it; that feeling that you've found a very special place. Peaceful, majestic and unlike any other, Chattooga Belle Farm is quite possibly the perfect place for any event and most certainly an ideal place to pledge your heart and life to another. Since the Lands opened their doors in 2010 they have come. There have been families, couples, groups, the media and fruit pickers who have all visited the farm; and they return year after year. Having been written up countless times across the southeast, US and more recently featured on The Today Show, the farm just keeps growing and getting better. With a history of growing sweet juicy apples, the soil in this part of the world has proven to be excellent for peaches, muscadines, scuppernongs, and blueberries. The farm also grows exotic fruits like persimmons, paw paws, Asian pears, figs, and more! The landscape is picturesque and the mountain views are truly breathtaking in every direction. The farm hosts farm to table dinners that sell out year after year. Their U-Pick fruit opportunities evolve throughout the season with something always coming in from early summer through fall. A list of available fruit is updated often on their website, upcoming events and information about cabin rentals on Horseshoe Lake. The recent addition of a distillery on the farm means the fruit is grown, fermented, distilled and bottled on the farm. Winding Stair Campground sits at an elevation of 3,380 feet, next to the headwaters of the Nantahala River and is surrounded by national forest and undeveloped private land trusts. The stunning mountain views in a remote tucked-away setting make our farm a perfect getaway! Just a 15-minute scenic drive from Franklin in North Carolina, easily accessible off Hwy 64, our campground offers a chance to enjoy nature without being far away from the public amenities of a small but well-equipped town. A few features about our property: - Working farm: Campers are welcome to meet our Icelandic sheep and take a self-guided tour of our farm, along designated pathways. - Security: The campground and farm are fenced in on three sides with the river being the fourth boundary. Personal code to the entrance gate will be given at check in. - Bath House: The restored bathhouse is split into boys’ and girls’ sides. Each side has 2 private showers, 4 flushing toilets, sinks, hot water, and gas heat. - Community Pavilion: The Pavilion is a large 40x30 ft. open sided structure overlooking the Nantahala River. It has an ample fireplace, running water sink, counter space, couches, and table with benches. - Pack Room: Where the adventure begins! A cozy hub where all guests check-in, get local information, view maps, and grab some local seasonal groceries. Also available to all campers are washing sinks with hot water, toaster oven and microwave. - Communication: Or rather, lack thereof! There's no cell service on the property so it's a great time to get away from it all. There is limited Wi-Fi available near the Pack Room and an emergency landline available. - Charging: Traveling in an electric vehicle? Come and feel the breeze as it blows across the meadow as you nap under the trees. It’s a place that the whole family can enjoy! Now with 2 outdoor showers(hot/cold), full bathroom and bike wash. *Please note that the bathroom/outdoor showers and bike wash are located on the outside of the barn which is also a VRBO.
