We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. The space You get the complete use of the whole house in the Innsbrook golf development in the city limits of Helen Georgia Guest access The development has a community pool, tennis courts and pickle ball courts. It’s right after you go through the guard gate. The guard can give you directions. It is in the section called the sports complex. They only area off-limits to guests is my locked owners closet. The rest of the house has complete access. Other things to note Questions I get occasionally from guests: one bedroom is on the main level. Once you get in the house it requires no additional stairs. 3 bedrooms have queen beds, the master has a king and except the lift has a daybed with a pop up trundle., usually it is set as twin beds. Richie was a great host and the shack was cute. The land is just uphill of the host's main house. You don't have to worry about the shared property because he respects your privacy. He said hello to us when we arrived and then we saw him again just before we checked out. It rained each night we stayed here and the shack kept us warm and dry.

I have to say, this was hands-down the best organized, cleanest, easiest, most amenity-laden cabin I’ve ever rented. So many details, from the embroidered robes to the bound book of instructions and recommendations. From the kitchen appointments to the coffee. There are really too many amazing little things to list here, but you could really tell the owners absolutely care about the experience their property provides. And we went panning for gold in the creek below the back deck and even found a little! It was incredibly comfortable and lots of fun. Just make sure you’re ok with stairs and aren’t too large to fit the spiral to the loft. I honestly cannot think of a single improvement to make. Didn’t even matter that it rained so much, because there was plenty left to do inside.

Cabin was absolutely gorgeous, Susan and her cleaning lady was very accommodating, especially considering we made last minute reservations. The cabin and location were pretty good, my only complaints would be that the gas fireplace didn't seem to work, and the hot tub was an inflatable tub instead of a full size hot tub, and we couldn't seem to find the remote for the downstairs television. These slight issues aside, the cabin itself was still quite lovely and we enjoyed our time there.

Most of our time was spent on the peaceful back deck, soaking in the quiet seclusion and calming sounds of nature. The well-stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare and enjoy several delicious meals. Clean cabin, more than enough space and beds for everyone. Kitchen is stocked with all the utensils and cooking equipment you would need. Having a washer and dryer was a plus due to all the outdoor activities we did up there. Easy access to a lot of outdoor attractions and towns. Host was spot on with directions. Definitely will save this place for another time up here in north Georgia.

I was traveling with 2 kids and 3 dogs (2 huskies) for my daughtets softball. We were on a tight budget so I booked this. It was a wonderful stay. The cabin is cute and we even had baby dear wake us our first Morning. Our host John went above and beyond building a fire for us and unclogging the toliet. Its beautiful there. We had the best time!
