The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite. The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. The Neature Preserve

The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite. The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. There was no shortage of things to do on the property itself, but as other reviews have mentioned, there are plenty of nature activities all within short driving distance. Host was great, facilities had everything I needed and in working order. I will definitely be back.

The yurt had a small blow up mattress, which was a plus because it wasn’t listed in the description (at least to my memory). The land was absolutely beautiful, and he took the time to make sure we got to our yurt safely. Made my friend and I feel incredibly safe as two young women traveling alone together. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying on Robby’s land. He was friendly, and met us at the gate to give us some directions and details about the campsite. The campsite had 6 spots, and most of the were concentrated on one side of the field, so you may be close to others if you choose on of those. We had no one around us, and aside from the occasional train passing by, it was very peaceful. We had great views of the night sky and saw a few shooting stars while we were out. Plenty of space, good access to a bathroom. We had to walk out a bit to get some firewood, but that wasn’t a difficult endeavor. We all had a great time and would stay here in the future.

This was our 2nd time there and Durand met us as we arrived and assisted my backing into the spot. This place is a working farm and it's neat, clean, landscaped, and scenic. Our site was ready when we got there and we loved the horses (bring carrots and apples), loved the peace and quiet, and the night sky. We will be back!

Stayed 2 nights. Camping with tents. At the time of this review, there was a drought, so the river was extremely low. Property was very well kept, clean, and a great central location if you don’t want to be too far away from everything. Hopefully next time the rain has raised the river so we could do the full runs, up and down stream. The water was nice and cool, great for the warmer days we had in November. We will definitely be returning. Great site.

I had a wonderful stay on JoLane and Sam's place. JoLane offered prompt replies and all information needed for arrival. Sam (a veteran) met me and guided me to Site 4. We had a nice chat about local going-ons... all the more making me feel at home. The site was just right for my Colorado and 16ft camper. That being said, this site would be perfect for single or multiple tent camping! I enjoyed the peaceful feeling of being in remote, deep woods... without really being far away from conveniences or access to major roads. Do yourself a favor a spend a night or two here!

Staying at the farm has been one of the best camping trips I’ve ever taken! Mrs Jo and Mr Sam were the absolute best hosts anyone could ask for! Had help unloading and bringing my gear to the site. They were also so nice to let me borrow a small heater for when it was going to get down to freezing. The weather was beautiful and the walks through the property were great. My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed being around the goats and the mule since we stayed at the goat site. Enjoyed waking up to the roosters and peacocks. Plenty of good deadfall for firewood and the sites are set up very well. I also brought home some soap and honey that were made at the farm. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend of relaxation and time in the woods. So many great things, but too many to list! You will definitely have to go experience it for yourself! I will definitely be returning!

My dog and I had a perfect last second long weekend getaway. The property was easy to get to, close to so many awesome hiking trails, and was beautiful. The host, Robby, communicated well and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. He brought us enough firewood to last the entire trip and offered multiple options in case the weather got too cold while there. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. Highly recommend anywhere on his property and will hopefully be back sooner than later!

This is a great place for children and rv camping. Lots of toys, cars, and trucks for the kids to play with. The St. Mary's river borders the property and is accessible for wading, swimming, and fishing. The property itself is very nice with some secluded spots if you want to do some primitive tent camping. There are port-o-let style toilets with a sink and access to potable water.

Great location for a weekend camp. We were in a 23' TT and used the 30 amp service and water with no problems. CG is clean and stocked with toys to keep the grandkids busy. St Mary's was VERY low water. No paddling this weekend. Will definitely be back. Great job M ! Happy Campers

This was a great choice for our first hipcamp. Ralph is a great host and goes out of his way to make sure guests have everything they need. Kept us supplied with firewood the entire stay. Common house and bathrooms were always clean. Would definitely recommend.
