Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

It is 20.54 acres peacefully located between big land owners on each side, and a creek that runs through the middle that separates north from south pieces. Our trails are groomed and some just deer worn. We have one camp site that is rural and rustic. There is a bucket for the restroom and antique, old white kitchen sink for hand washing just outside it. There is no running water yet, but working on getting a water reservoir out there asap. No electricity yet a single power cord could be run for extra $10.00 for your visit. There is a fire pit close to the tent spot on, “Skip’s Campsite”. Another camp site” Aqua-Fine-A” that has a walk in creek access, and you have to cross the creek to get to that one. It is farther away from “Skip’s bathroom access. It has a more established flag stone fire pit. It is our original primitive sight. There is no water reservoir or possibility of electricity at “Aqua-Fine-A” campsite. Everything must be packed in and out on foot. Both sights require a hike to campsites on foot with uneven rooted trails. {You are welcome to use our well loved red wheelbarrow to haul items in}. There is access to a bigger fire pit “M & M fire pit”, and a propane grill option (this is first come first serve/sharing spot). More campsites developing over time and there is a massage practitioner on site if you are looking for the whole experience (29 years experience in healing modalities and shamanic blood line). If you are looking to experience nature cabin style then, “The Minor Escape” is for you. This has a full refrigerator, full stand up filtered water shower, kitchen sink, separate master, two bedroom lofts with ladder access, kitchen sink, ceiling fans, window a/c units for summer and space heaters for winter (Eden pure heater that shows fireplace flames). Our family loves this land and there is always new areas being cultivated in various spots. You will see us out there either with our hobby farm of animals, gardening or building a new area. I am a teacher, guide, artist, and healer. This land is sacred and magical. It is used to heal, restore, inspire and rejuvenate many locally and internationally.

Wonderful place to camp with the horses right there to interact with. The family is very friendly and helpful, good communication before and after arrival. The campsite is next to the barn and pasture so not a shaded spot, but beautiful property and the sunset was amazing. We will definitely stay again when in the area. The Hipcamp app has the location wrong on Maps but we got the address from Durand and got there in the end.

This is the second time my friends and I have camped at George's place. We will keep coming back! The location is private, beautiful, quiet, backs up to miles of hiking trails, and 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga.

Everything at the campground was well designed. Robby gave us guidance upon check in about the property and even took the time to mow the grass before we arrived. He also provided several recommendations for things to do in the area. We enjoyed camping here!

We were passing by on a drive from Virginia to Louisiana and stopped for a night in our pop-up truck camper. We met Thomas who was clearing brush. He explained that the site was formerly used as a off road motosports camp and that he had just removed the last permanent camper. He has a vision and is working hard to fulfill it. Nice setting but be aware that trains pass nearby. Being deep sleepers we were awakened but were immediately back to sleep. We woke up early and were quickly back on the interstate heading south.

Weekend Trip to Piney Hills Campground

I had a very relaxing time at Lisa and Jame’s Hipcamp. They greeted me when I arrived, and were very welcoming. I stayed at site #5 (which had a covered platform) which was very spacious. The bath house was very clean, and the shower nice and warm. I have AT&T, and I didn’t get service at the site (which wasn’t important to me), but a quick walk to the bath house and I could get cell service and also connect to their WiFi. Overall, a nice relaxing getaway to unplug!

You can't believe it's so close to downtown Savannah. This cool setting is so relaxing and peaceful. The owls talked throughout the evening.. loved it! Chad and Angi are fantastic! Quick response to all questions and concerns. The outdoor shower is my favorite!

1 night at Mulberry Gap - Camping & Van Stays

Great place! If you are wondering if it is worth to camp here, do it! I don't ride mountain bikes and just needed a place to camp with a shower. I got that plus a hot tub! 2 hot tubs! The bathroom and shower facilities are amazing; body wash soap, shampoo, and conditioner are on the house! All you need to do is bring your gear and a tooth brush. I enjoyed my Mon/Tue camping stay and would camp here again in a heart beat! Next time I will definitely camp on the weekend to see how the home-made breakfast is like. Thank you Mulberry Gap! Count 'em up.... 7 exclamation points! Make it 8
