Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

It's like having your own private summer camp! The unfurnished cabin is dry and clean. A huge upgrade from a tent (feel free to pitch your tents if you like)! The bathhouse offers hot showers, a flush toilet, and sink. The open pole barn has a deluxe camping kitchen set up with pots and pans, a propane stove, a coffee maker, and a dishwashing sink. There is also a dining table and chairs. While the property is close and convenient to Chattanooga, once you are enjoying the serene woods, shady trees, starry nights, and quality time with family and friends you will forget all about the city! While there are no full-time residents on the property, there is a small functioning horse farm about 100 yards from the camping area. My husband and I stayed Thanksgiving weekend. Very friendly & responsive hosts. Ample space at our site. We had a problem with our slide upon arrival; James took a look but was unable to help but did give suggestions of someone who could. Bath houses were clean!!! Site had its own grill, table, fire pit. Farm animals were very friendly. My only negative was the hot water pressure was not good so I couldn’t take advantage of the showers But everything else was super nice!!

I loved these trailers! We stayed for 3 nights/4 days. The campsite was super clean & cozy. It almost felt like camping in the 60's. The hot outdoor shower was a life saver in the cold weekend! There are trails to walk, horses to see, and a lot of peace & quite. I highly reccomend this place and will definitely be coming here again.

This site was perfect! Ralph had everything set up for us in advance a canopy, chairs, hammock, fire pit, and all the wood we could need. Loved the trickle sound of the stream at night. Was surprised the price included all the extras. The common area was brand new and clean. We would definitely camp here again or in one of the cabins.

We had an amazing time. It was supposed to be a quick overnight stop. We got in late, 10pm. We had little mix up with the site. James & Lisa came right out. Took great care of us and even helped us get hooked up. The next morning came over to check on us too. Amazing hosts. Very attentive and kind. Then the location.. in the daylight is amazing. We all had fun taking the golf cart to see the animals and through the trails. The amenities were clean and lots of hot water. The property is beautiful and fun. Will definitely stay here again. The kids are already asking to go back on our way home.

Great host! Durand helped me back into position at the site. Site is landscaped, neat, clean and peaceful. Friendly horses! Bring some carrots and apples for them and you’ll have two new friends. Entire farm is picture perfect, clean, organized, landscaped. Great night sky to see the stars around the fire pit.

1 night at Piney Hills Campground

Fantastic little campground with extremely helpful hosts. Here’s what I liked about it. There was lighting, but not too much. Sites were roomy with a small fire pit, picnic tables, and a charcoal grill. The individual bathrooms were clean, warm and convenient. A hot shower was great to get after a long day on the road. It was quiet with a few outdoor country sounds, like owls, a dog in the distance and a rooster at sunup. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
