Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

It is 20.54 acres peacefully located between big land owners on each side, and a creek that runs through the middle that separates north from south pieces. Our trails are groomed and some just deer worn. We have one camp site that is rural and rustic. There is a bucket for the restroom and antique, old white kitchen sink for hand washing just outside it. There is no running water yet, but working on getting a water reservoir out there asap. No electricity yet a single power cord could be run for extra $10.00 for your visit. There is a fire pit close to the tent spot on, “Skip’s Campsite”. Another camp site” Aqua-Fine-A” that has a walk in creek access, and you have to cross the creek to get to that one. It is farther away from “Skip’s bathroom access. It has a more established flag stone fire pit. It is our original primitive sight. There is no water reservoir or possibility of electricity at “Aqua-Fine-A” campsite. Everything must be packed in and out on foot. Both sights require a hike to campsites on foot with uneven rooted trails. {You are welcome to use our well loved red wheelbarrow to haul items in}. There is access to a bigger fire pit “M & M fire pit”, and a propane grill option (this is first come first serve/sharing spot). More campsites developing over time and there is a massage practitioner on site if you are looking for the whole experience (29 years experience in healing modalities and shamanic blood line). If you are looking to experience nature cabin style then, “The Minor Escape” is for you. This has a full refrigerator, full stand up filtered water shower, kitchen sink, separate master, two bedroom lofts with ladder access, kitchen sink, ceiling fans, window a/c units for summer and space heaters for winter (Eden pure heater that shows fireplace flames). Our family loves this land and there is always new areas being cultivated in various spots. You will see us out there either with our hobby farm of animals, gardening or building a new area. I am a teacher, guide, artist, and healer. This land is sacred and magical. It is used to heal, restore, inspire and rejuvenate many locally and internationally.

A lovely home away from home with everything you could need for a lil rest and relaxation... a/c to beat the heat, patio grill, wrap around mountainscape complete with lightning bug show at dusk, and a sweet pup named Lady Cooper for porch sitting company. The hosts went over and beyond in sharing their property and kindness, including a hand-delivered, freshly picked and baked blackberry cobbler (which I devoured within minutes, thanks again Chris!) Can't wait to return to this magical place ✨️❤️

Weekend Trip to Piney Hills Campground

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Piney Hills Campground was the perfect place to kick off our road trip! We only stayed one night, but it was exactly what we needed, and I would absolutely stay here again if I'm ever back in the area. The campground is tucked away in the peaceful countryside of Mauk, Georgia, and has such a charming, relaxing atmosphere. They offer a little bit of everything—primitive campsites, adorable yurts, RV sites, and more comfortable campsites like the one we stayed in. We stayed at Site 3, which had a nice view of the main house and one of the horses. If you're looking for the best sunset views, I'd recommend requesting Site 4. It has a platform overlooking the small farm and is the perfect spot to enjoy the evening. One thing people should know is that there is a train nearby, and you'll hear it every 15–30 minutes or so. Unless you're an extremely light sleeper who needs complete silence, I don't think it's an issue. It certainly didn't take away from our experience. The bathhouse was clean, cute, and had hot showers. My only suggestion for improvement would be the motion-sensor lights—they turn off pretty quickly, so you'll find yourself waving your arms while you're in the shower or even sitting in the restroom to keep the lights on. There's also a small camp store, which is a nice bonus. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. and left around 10:00 the next morning, so we didn't have a chance to explore everything, but our stay was peaceful, quiet, and very enjoyable. Thank you

This is a peaceful, secluded spot. It’s a campground and hostel so it’s obviously got other people around but the rules are clear and direct and everyone was friendly and polite. The hosts work to ensure that everything stays well stocked and clean in the communal , as well as ensuring the rules are followed to ensure everyone has a lovely stay. I will be starting again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at Spring Dale Hipcamp hosted by Eston and his wife. They were incredibly warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The campsite was peaceful, well maintained, and a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Our pet, Naina, had an amazing time too! She especially loved playing with their friendly dog, Lady. Watching them have so much fun made our stay even more memorable. Thank you, Eston, for your wonderful hospitality. We truly enjoyed our time at Spring Dale and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, pet-friendly getaway. We can't wait to visit again!

Awesome site, and the facilities were great.!The host was very kind and helpful. We had a wasps nest above the platform and left a message for the host about the minor issues. She took no time at all and showed up to the site with wasp spray. Also gave us a little more information about the campground while we were waiting for the wasp spray to kick in.Will definitely be back again.

Our family loved staying at Robby's place! The RV was so nice and a good size for our little family of 4. Our kids ask everyday if we can go back, that's how much they loved it! It is very private and Robby is super hospitable. We're already trying to plan our next visit because we didn't get to explore his land as much as we wanted. Everything was amazing, we actually needed a little help learning how to work the water and drain the tub after bath times for both kids and Robby was up there and ready to help ASAP. He's super responsive and had a ton of incredible information to tell us about the native land we were staying on. I had to go to Chattanooga for a work trip, but it never felt like work when we got back. The firewood he provided gave us 3 nights of fires and the bed was so cozy, even though my husband and I are both really tall. Our kiddos loved the bunk beds and slept through the night, which is rare with two toddlers. The amenities are so nice and it really is such a short drive to Chattanooga. We will always look back on this trip as one of our favorites and we can't wait to visit again. Thank you for everything, Robby.

Covenant View was a fantastic site and Robby was an excellent host. The land is beautiful- tucked away toward the bottom of Lookout Mountain with a variety of camping areas. The meadow was an especially pretty spot. The day of my arrival there had been a tropical storm from the Gulf Coast which brought rain to the area. I was initially going to be in a yurt, but Robby called to let me know that area was too muddy and he was going to have me stay in a different tent site. Everything turned out great- the tent was huge with large and comfortable air mattress that seemed like a foam mattress (super comfortable), it had a "porch" vestibule area with a lounge chair, and all in all the site was really nice. Robby's communication was top notch and he detailed how to get to the site and recommended local hiking trails and activities. I highly recommend it!

I traveled from California to take my grandkids camping. George was an amazing host!!! He was communicative and flexible. when plans had to change due to medical stuff. The site was well designed and surprisingly well equipped. The camp kitchen had all the basics plus. I have a trailer with all my gear so I was grateful to have all the items forgot readily available. The cabin was bigger than expected. We spent a rainy afternoon playing games and napping. Great combination of convenience and real comping!! We will be back!!!
