Frank Page purchased the Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground in 2008 which included the original seven acres of the lower portion of the Rendezvous. At that time there were only a few buildings and the primitive campground area. Frank started cleaning the area and stabilizing all the buildings. In 2009 another 20 acres was purchased, which is now considered the upper area of the Rendezvous. In 2010, another seven acres were added to the property. Frank planned and constructed the Upper Rendezvous area which was completed in 2012 and added 136 RV sites as well as the dog park, barn and pigeon coop. The dog park has five sections, for both small and large dogs, with ample room to run. Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground Pool Frank began raising pigeons in 2012. The first pigeons purchased were homing pigeons, which started the Pigeon Races that are still a fun, family favorite event on Saturday afternoons. Frank also bought and started raising other pigeons, the Birmingham Roller. Birmingham Rollers are a very popular breed of domesticated pigeons that originated in Birmingham, England, where they were developed via selective breeding for their ability to do rapid backward somersaults while flying. You can often see them flying around the Upper Rendezvous in the mornings and afternoons. These pigeons are used for our weekly Pigeon Races.

A pet friendly, off leash, dark skies 6 acre slice of paradise in North Florida on the banks of the Suwannee River. In 1990 the State of Florida banned logging within 1,000 feet of the Suwannee River so Southeast Timberlands sold off it's holdings and we were lucky enough to purchase 6 acres and 444 feet of riverfront. A designated "Pristine Scenic Waterway" with very steep banks, the Suwannee is one of the few"wild" rivers left in the United States and can rise over 30 feet to flood stage almost overnight; yet due to its unique topography we can access it no matter how high or low the water. The Forest Service has bought up the surrounding lots, creating a 10 mile Conservation corridor supporting the National Scenic Florida Trail, it's clearly marked footpaths and natural attractions. To that end, we have left the old growth upland forest the way we found it. The campsite is a natural feature as is the Zen deck and canoe launch, a swale draining the ridge. The campsite is level, the lane to the river slopes gently dropping in elevation 20 feet over 1,000 in making it easy for able bodied guests to navigate their way to the white sugar sand beach. We want to share our retreat with those who are looking for a real wilderness experience in an exclusive private setting. A Waiver of Liability is required by all guests as the Wilderness is an inherently dangerous place. We only offer one accommodation per weekend with a maximum of 8 people, because we only have 1 toilet, so our guests can have the seclusion they desire and be free to enjoy the natural wonder of the woodland experience in any manner they choose.

This facility is used for retreats. R/V's and campers will have access to 2 full bathrooms and fully equipped ped kitchen area with refrigerator stove and microwave, coffeemaker and plenty pots, pans and dishes. The kitchen may have limited access during special events or retreats. There are several fire pits and open fields for frisbee, volley ball, horse shoes, and corn hole games in the camping area. The building also has a large covered outdoor pouch area with lights and fans for rainy days, to hang out. reading, card games, etc. As mentioned earlier, we are on 80+ acres and plenty of room to roam and trails to explore. The city of High Springs and Lake City are each a short drive away have lots of shops, restaurants, and groceries. Feel free to ask us for recommendations. Weekend Trip to Free to Be Acres

Had an awesome time here. The camp is located about 3 miles from Ichetucknee springs state park and about the same distance from a few boat ramps for the Suwannee river. The camp was relatively secluded, a nice open area, has a fire ring a small shower, and power. If you are going to tent camp, make sure to bring heavy duty tent stakes. The site has a layer of compact lime stone which is great, but hard to drive standard tent stakes through. Overall great experience.

We only overnighted but loved this wide open field…. For the more adventurous (driving on a farm lane! Felt like I was at my Grandparents!) The gate pictured is the entrance. I did not pick up on that when I booked it so my dusk arrival had me worried. There is a well marked lane then you turn toward the green barn. No worries for turning around, plenty of space. We let our dog run free and had a great time. The electric is 50 amp so if you are a 30, be sure to have your adaptor.

Great place to take the family for an adventure. Easy access to the Florida Trail. Highly recommend checking out Disappearing Creek, which about a 15 min hike from camp. The propery is large and very private. The campsite is approximatley 1000 ft from the river. You can drive down to the river, although the bank fairly steep. A golf cart or four wheeler would make it easier to get to the beach, where you can launch paddle craft, fish, and swim. There is a large pole barn to shelter in during bad weather. It has a table with chairs, a small kitchen sink and table. Power is available at near the fire ring and in the screened room with a hammock. I recommend bringing an extension cord. Shout out to Jerry for providing firewood for a nominal fee. The bathroom and shower are a big plus. The river is a 5 min walk from the campsite, the beach is around 7 min. Janet was a great host and was in touch daily, making sure that we got the most out our experience. The listing does accurately describe the campsite.

Highly recommend! Super convenient and well-equipped! My husband and I had a great experience at this campsite. The amenities were surprisingly complete: a mini barn with clean toilet, plenty of toilet paper, hot water, a fridge, a microwave and even a heater, which is a huge plus for us (we had some freezing nights during our stay). The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The location is also fantastic - it’s very close to the nearby state park. Donna’s recommendation of the restaurants and cafe are also great! Janet was so easy to work with! This spot has everything you need and Janet and Jerry made everything all ready with firewood and all! The river is a nice short walk and we really enjoyed fishing and playing in the water. We absolutely loved this spot, we felt so secluded and safe. Our young boys and dogs had so much fun running around. The horseshoes were so fun and the sleeping porch was amazing to have the extra sleeping space. Hope we can have the chance to stay longer and explore more of the beautiful Suwannee River next time!

Brian’s property was a great spot for us! He greeted us and lead us to our spot and then we found out his wife Phyllis bakes muffins and cookies so we bought some muffins for breakfast. They were delicious! We had a problem with our RV not starting on the morning we were supposed to leave and Brian was extremely helpful in giving us assistance with finding a mechanic that could help us. Brian even towed our bus to the repair shop with his tractor! We were very grateful and would definitely recommend this property because of its safe location and the wonderful people who own it. Great Hipcamp experience!

Weekend Trip to Free to Be Acres

The private site was great! We really appreciated all of April’s recommendations about kayaking. She even suggested a modified trip on day two after the weather had turned cold. We will definitely be returning to this site.

I really enjoyed my time camping here. They have a peaceful property with beautiful horses and a nice reservoir that geese and other birds stop at. The stars at night are clear to see. Brian and his wife were very helpful and knowledgeable about everything to do with camping and RV life.
