The beautiful oak trees provide a good amount of shade on the lot. No bathrooms or electrical hookups have been installed yet. There is a gas station about 5min away and town/grocery stores are about 10min away. You will feel like you are secluded, but not too far away from town. Had an amazing and relaxing weekend. The campsite itself was very private, and the proximity to the “private-ish” beach was the best part. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was the perfect private getaway. The only downside was that the mini fridge at our site wasn’t working, so we had to rely on our cooler. Aside from that small issue, it was a 10/10 experience. We’ll definitely be back for the peace and quiet.

The skoolie was the absolute best after camping for a few days in the August Florida heat. Melinda left out some snacks, and there was a full kitchen in which we cooked dinner. The bed and the pull out were both super comfy, and nothing beat the shower!! As far as skoolies go, this is one of the best I’ve seen! Melinda was also great, even letting us do some laundry in her guest house. Everything felt very safe and cozy, would definitely stay again!

I loved spending the night at the Skoolie after a long day of driving! It was so spacious, beautifully decorated and super cozy. The fully functioning kitchen, warm shower and AC made it feel like a luxury stay. I got to meet Melinda shortly when leaving and she was super sweet. Would definitely recommend staying here!

What a great place! First of all, you are just across the street from the beach and from a turtle sanctuary!! It’s one of the last spots on the Atlantic coast of Florida which is not overdeveloped. I hesitate to broadcast it too much as it is so special! John runs a small surf shop and a surf camp. So there’s a low key, cool business attached to the property (filled with great books to be loaned). The yurt is quite comfortable and has all the amenities you need. It’s very quiet and surrounded by jungle like foliage. I highly recommend this place. We will absolutely be back. My only suggestion is in summer note that they have mosquitoes. It’s manageable, but prepare in advance.

I stayed here with my children for Mother's Day Weekend. We were delighted to find out that it's on an island! Very close to the beach and state parks. They are in the middle of building a new platform to put the dome on. I was a little sad we had the view of a half-finished construction project, but for future visitors that will be an amazing upgrade. DON'T SKIP THE BUG SPRAY!!

My best friend and I enjoyed our first yurt camping experience. John, the onsite host, was kind and very hospitable. Location is walkable to the beach, though I wouldn’t recommend for families with small children. The location is quiet and private.
