As I look back on the past three years since opening the campground, I’m filled with gratitude. What started as a dream has turned into something so much more thanks to each and every one of you who has stayed here, shared your stories, and brought your energy to this little piece of the outdoors.
I’ve had the joy of meeting people from all walks of life travelers passing through, families on vacation, solo adventurers chasing peace, and seasoned RVers with tales from the road. Whether you’re here for one night or one season, getting to know where you’re from, where you’re going, and the stories in between has been the most rewarding part of running this campground.
It’s not just about providing a place to park or pitch a tent it’s about building a community, even if it’s just for a weekend. The laughs around the fire, the kindness between strangers, and the shared love of the outdoors have made this journey incredibly special.

Designed as a retreat for the modern creative, the cabin is fully off-grid but features Starlink Internet, a compost toilet and heat / AC. We do provide 5 gallons drinking / cleaning water, but during the winter no sinks or showers are operable.
Nearby towns (Kent, CT / Wassaic, NY) have awesome art, shopping and plenty of food options as well as easy access to the Appalachian trail and Macedonia state park.
15 minutes from the Wassaic metro north station, the cabin can be reach by taxi. The cabin is accessible by car, but may require a short hike in after heavy rain or snow.

Located in northern Connecticut, right up there by Massachusetts, Tunxis State Forest is wild and remote. The trees here are some of the oldest around, since it was already wooded when it became owned by the state in 1923. Most other forests were only just growing into what they are now from abandoned farms.
You never know what you might see in Tunxis State Forest, although we can give you some ideas. If you go for a hike through these old trees, you might spy a moose munching on foliage, or a black bear bumbling about. If that hike happens to be the Falls Brook trail, then you will certainly see a beautiful waterfall.

Mohawk State Forest can be identified by some truly unique natural and historical features that go unmatched in Connecticut. 1,683-foot Mohawk Mountain was once used by Native Americans to spy rival tribes approaching and the Black Spruce Bog is thought to have formed after a giant glacial ice block melted and left a 40-foot depression filled with water.
Today, the area is recognized its hearty specimens of black spruce and larch and has become popular for both educational and scientific purposes. Visitors also have access to youth group camping, stream and pond fishing, hikes on the Mohawk Trail and winter sports in the Mohawk Ski Area. Tree huggers unite! This is the promised land. Consisting of two separate forests, the wooded bastions of Mother Nature rise tall and strong in these parts. Each tree is beautiful in its own way, but perhaps no trunk is better for squeezing than those in the 200-year old white pine grove in the Whittemore Recreation Area of the Peoples Forest.
One can only hug so many trees, however, so it’s a good thing there are lots of other things to do in the American Legion and Peoples State Forests. The trails that wind through these wooded acres will keep hikers on their feet for days on end. And the waters of the wild and scenic West Branch of the Farmington River attracts kayakers and fishers from all over Connecticut and even neighboring states. But if you want to just come and squeeze an oak, no one will fault you.

This tucked away property is just minutes from route 6, quiet, and just the right amount of wild. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night to soak it all in.

We loved camping at Ronald’s place. Very quiet and secluded. We only stayed overnight, but had the choice of his space which was fun to navigate in our SUV (if you have air suspension would recommend to jack it up for better ground clearance!). Thanks for having us!

This was my second time staying at Ronny’s site because I liked it so much the first time. He is an incredibly hospitable host — he even came by to help me get a fire started, which I appreciated so much as a solo traveler. The campsite is peaceful, private, and a perfect place to relax and feel safe. It was another restful and positive experience, and I would happily stay again.

My 7 year old Son and I recently camped at pegasus farms and we had such an amazing time. Ronald was a great host who answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. We made a fire, cooked dinner & had smores. You can take a light walk through the campsite to his animals where you can meet horses & cows during feeding time. I left relaxed, feeling peaceful and recharged my batteries. The only bad part was that we wish we stayed longer! Thank you again Ronald and we are looking forward to staying with you again soon.

This campsite was everything we hoped for and more. It’s perfect for self-sustainable, off-grid campers looking for peace, privacy, and a deep connection with nature. The site is quiet and secluded, with a very clean and well-stocked outhouse—such a thoughtful detail that made a big difference.
The host was incredibly friendly and considerate, striking that perfect balance of being helpful while still respecting our space. The woodlands surrounding the site are absolutely beautiful, and the fireflies that come out at dusk created such a magical atmosphere.
A definite highlight was watching the farm animals—seeing the horses and cows all peacefully eating hay together was entertaining and soothing.
We did have an encounter with a bear family during our stay, which was both awe-inspiring and a good reminder: come prepared and practice smart wildlife safety. This is truly a wild and natural area, and that’s part of its beauty.
We left feeling grounded, inspired, and already planning a return trip. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a genuine off-grid experience with a touch of farm charm and real wilderness.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay at this horse farm! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality by Farmer Ron, whose kindness and genuine love for the land made us feel right at home. He greeted us with a smile, gave us a quick tour, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Waking up to the soft sounds of horses and birds was incredibly calming. The property itself is spacious and serene—ideal for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about caring for the animals and the land. A highlight of our trip was spending time with the horses—especially Chunky! Chunky the horse stole our hearts with his sweet, gentle personality and his big, lovable eyes. We looked forward to seeing him every day.
There were thoughtful touches everywhere, from firewood availability to clean facilities and helpful local recommendations. Whether you're an animal lover, an outdoor enthusiast, or just someone looking for a unique and peaceful place to stay, this horse farm is a hidden gem.
We’re already planning our next trip back—highly recommend! And give Chunky a carrot for us!
