Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. We had a wonderful time at Higher Grounds! Evan and Laura were fantastic hosts - attentive, but left us to our own devices for the most part. We had a nice chat while they were feeding the goats and chickens! The bathroom and shower were a great touch! The tent was clean and the propane heater kept us plenty warm during the cool Fall nights. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This was a stop over for rest. I wished i had more time to see this working farm. Even though we booked last minute Molly made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the animals. We brought our small dogs. Remember if you don't have dogs that are good in this environment its not for you. Molly had everything but if you are staying for a couple of days you might want to bring extra linens for your comfort. Very cute and clean. Would love to do again.

1 night at Luxury Camping at 'Higher Ground'

This is my first time using Hipcamp. My son and I really enjoyed our visit. We came on a rainy day, but I had confirmed with Laura and Evan beforehand that the tent would keep us dry and so it did. Evan greeted me cheerfully when we arrived, showed me the commode and shower and pointed out the features of the tent and campsite up the hill. We had a beautiful fire in the light rain before it did indeed rain hard all night long, providing white noise that kept us up and put us back to sleep. A a sublime experience all round.

I needed a place to crash for the night to split up a trip, and this was the perfect set up! I wish I had time to explore the farm more but it was so peaceful the bit I got to saw. Molly was very nice to meet me at the store and I got some amazing local yogurt. A really special spot to check out!

Loved the treehouse! Exactly as pictured and described. The fire pit and grate for cooking worked great and it was nice that you can buy firewood from Quentin directly at a good price. Can’t wait to go back!

Weekend Trip to Hunterbrook Mountain

We had a great time at Stephen's place! It's cool to have the stream right beside the camp, it really adds to the atmosphere of being in the woods. They had everything we needed at camp, it's all very well organized. It's also the perfect location to enjoy all the hiking in Fahnestock, or hang out in Cold Spring. Highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Beavertides Farm

Marleen and Dan were such excellent hosts. We had a wonderful time at the tent. It felt very private but they were very available for any questions we had. The beekeeping class was incredible and we were able to grab a few peaches from their tree afterward. It was such a relaxing experience and we would definitely come back and recommend to friends. Such a comfortable and homey place to stay.

1 night at Quentins Treehouse

We had a lovely time at Quentin's treehouse. The directions to the site and the parking were very clear. The treehouse itself was sturdy, cozy, and surprisingly bug-free. It was fairly easy for us to climb up and down with our things but I agree with some other reviewers that it might not be an accessible option if you have mobility issues. There was a great setup for cooking with a large metal work table directly by the fire pit, and the provided grill cover and grate were also very handy. Nice that he had firewood for sale, as well. The lake was peaceful, clean, and especially gorgeous in the morning with the mist rising off. Quentin is a great host and made us feel very welcome on his property. He's a kind communicator and struck a good balance between being present and allowing us our space to unwind. We felt very safe. Overall it was a lovely experience and we'd be glad to come back!

Stephen's spot was absolutely amazing. This was our first time bringing our daughter camping and she had so much fun. We walked the trail, enjoyed the stream, and had a very nice and relaxing time. Stephen was very accommodating with helping is get our gear up there and providing us with enough wood to cook throughout the weekend. Will definitely come back again! Thanks again for everything!

Weekend Trip to Beavertides Farm

What a unique, absolutely incredible glamping experience!! Secluded in what I can only describe as a magical secluded meadow surrounded by wildflowers, tall trees, grazing horses and a donkey, a friendly cat, it truly feels like it’s only little world. Could not have had a better experience, truly disconnected, relaxed and recharged. Marleen is a wonderful host and so helpful. She truly loves her farm and sharing it with those who visit, if you are so inclined. Personally I highly recommend the fresh farm breakfast and farm tour add ons. Also absolutely check out their meat selection from animals on their farm. I cooked the best ribeye of my life over a campfire on a cast iron skillet. The tent itself is cute, cozy, and comfortable. We slept soundly in the king sized bed, napped on the large L-shaped couch, made tea with the electric kettle, and eggs and vegetables on the small electric Induction stovetop. While Marleen provides all you may need, the more you plan ahead for your own comfort the better! Your preparation will only add to what is already provided as an incredible experience. I cannot describe the feeling of warm mornings on the porch sipping herbal tea, moonlight filling the meadow and a silver horse grazing in front of you, a campfire crackling just yards from your luxurious tent. Could not recommend more. This is not just camping or even glamping, it is truly a unique, magical, wonderful experience.

🤩 Wow! Next time I’d like to explore these trails because it’s going to take a couple days. The property is huge. If you’re having guest not from the East Coast, I’d come here to have them visit to get the true taste of New England here.

Weekend Trip to Luxury Camping at 'Higher Ground'

We had a great time at Evan and Laura’s camping spot! It was our first time camping as a family and we were really grateful for all the amenities that made the experience so much easier! We loved cooking dinner and s’mores over the campfire, and our kids especially loved visiting the goats and chickens :) thanks Evan and Laura for a great stay!
