Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. Each tree is beautiful in its own way, but perhaps no trunk is better for squeezing than those in the 200-year old white pine grove in the Whittemore Recreation Area of the Peoples Forest. One can only hug so many trees, however, so it’s a good thing there are lots of other things to do in the American Legion and Peoples State Forests. The trails that wind through these wooded acres will keep hikers on their feet for days on end. And the waters of the wild and scenic West Branch of the Farmington River attracts kayakers and fishers from all over Connecticut and even neighboring states. It is our family camp, but we love to share it with friends and fellow nature-loving campers. The land is partially wooded, and partially 'old field' that is slowly re-foresting through natural succession with some intentional interruption in order to introduce edible native trees and shrubs that are not naturally present. In this way the land is a slowly developing food forest and also a nursery for its plant-loving stewards. Weekend Trip to Palsgraf estates

Perfect for a weekend escape from the city. The cabin was spacious and spotless, and the restroom was well-maintained. No service, water, or electricity, but firewood was ready for us, and the nights under the stars were amazing. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with, and check-in/check-out were very flexible and smooth. It felt a little pricey for a basic setup, but we still really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking to disconnect and recharge in nature.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Williams property is amazing. I camped with my 14 and 4 year old and we had the best time, both kids said they wished they stayed another night. I agree. The bed was comfy, the unlimited fire wood a life saver. Clean porta-potty. The creek nearby was gorgeous, the kids made Cairns and we drew on rocks with other rocks. Just make sure to bring your water, soap, ample food and lanterns. Im already dreaming of the next stay there. The host! William was extremely kind, checked in with me on my way up, and I felt like I was coming to visit family. I recommend this spot 10/10 and i think it was worth every penny.

Such an amazing spot! The site is nice and secluded with great amenities. The creek is super accessible and the cabin is clean and cozy! We had a wonderful time.

Weekend Trip to Atland Artist Residency

What a sweet space to commune with nature! My son and I needed a spot to explore this beautiful area of western mass and we are so happy we picked this little hideout. We giggled at little it was. We giggled at the sneaky fridge hiding in a tool chest. We giggled at how everything was considered in miniature form. We giggled at an outdoor shower right out there in a hidden pocket of the forest. This place is a little gem!

4 nights at Moonrise Forest Camp

We can’t recommend The Dacha enough! We had a great time spending four nights with our pup cooking on the campfire, finding good throwing sticks, and swinging from the tire swing! The outdoor kitchen and view was just amazing! Inside the decor is simple but BEAUTIFUL you can tell that Andrew and Vickie have put so much time and love into this camp spot and it’s so amazing of them to share it with the world! ❤️ Just a heads up, there does seem to be a camp up the road. We never saw anyone but we could hear them playing horns and the bongos as well as singing everyday specifically at 8:45 pm on the dot every night. We’re not sure if this is an everyday occurrence or we just happened to stay at the Dacha at the same time as another event up the road. This would not deter us from coming back at all but did catch us off guard the first time that we heard horns in the distance lol. All in all we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to get back to the Dacha!

Accommodations and site were as described. Dominic is very friendly and helpful. It's a few miles off any main roads so it's very quiet and dark at night so the star gazing is excellent and so is the sleeping. I would note that there is no shower available for use but he will let you use the hose! :)

Weekend Trip to Palsgraf estates

We only spent one night on this land but the cabin was perfect, the bedding was comfortable, and best of all, there was unlimited firewood. The price of the cabin was a bit expensive for what it was, but we definitely saved money by not buying firewood. The cabin was actually more stocked than the listing says, there were pans and tools for grilling. A cooler was even provided. William is kind and creative and a great host!

Weekend Trip to Atland Artist Residency

We loved staying in the tiny home at Ashland. The property was super peaceful and tucked away, but still close enough to get into town and explore easily. The host was extremely easy to communicate with, which made everything smooth. That said, the shower connection kept slipping off, which was a little awkward when you’re out in the woods mid-rinse. Also, the picnic table is located right next to the tiny cabin, so just be aware that other campers may be hanging out and eating there. Overall, it was a cozy, unique stay with a lot of charm!

Weekend Trip to Tree Day Weekend

We loved staying at Tree Day Weekend! The cabin is cozy and the loft bed was super comfy. The outdoor kitchen was great and made cooking super easy, both on the gas stove and on the fire. Add in a hot shower and refreshing swimming hole, and it's a perfect glamping situation.

It was a very neat and tidy spot! The mini cabin was lovely and there were many thoughtful additions. The open air shower was also nice, and we adjusted well to the wood-chip compost toilet. Don't expect too much privacy though. Overall very nice!

The cabin and grounds were great, and William was a generous host. Our cabin was nicely stocked with fresh bedding, kitchenware, utensils and some potable water. We got a little lost on our way there, and he drove out to try and find us. Would highly recommend staying here.
