History of JW Durango Riverside Resort It all started in 1965… When this campground hosted its first guests the goal back then was simply to offer folks from around the Four Corners a place to relax and lounge along the Animas River. RV Sites are NOT booked through hipcamp, they run $50-$60 nightly and can only be reserved through the Bristol Mountain RV Park & Cabins website.  We are 32728 hwy 149 Creede. 11 miles towards Lake City on hwy 149. Pull all through the Cabins and either turn left up the little hill camping anywhere, but keep the fire pit open for everyone. Or drive through the green gate past cabin #7 and camp in the pasture. Bathhouse is in the middle of the cabins. (No Bathhouse or water after September 15th.) Fire pit and picnic table are on the hill.  You can have dogs off leash anywhere away from the cabins and RV sites, just be careful as we have horses, we don't want the pup's getting kicked.  Let me know if you need anything. Bathhouse is in the middle of the cabins. (No Bathhouse or water after September 15th.) Our family loved camping on Kammie's land. We had a truck camper and 2 tents. There was plenty of room for each. The signage and lights were very helpful. The porta potty was exactly as described, very clean and pleasant. It is situated just a few miles north of town; the market just a mile away has coffee and morning pastries. It was a very pleasant stay in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It is on the Durango Silverton Railway, but that just added to the charm!

Absolutely beautiful. The darkest skies you'll find in the area. Wide open field to the east for a beautiful sunrise through the Aspens. Trees are pretty close on the west, which is okay because the road is right there also, but there is not a lot of traffic, I think three trucks and four four side-by-sides went by all day, it is a private community after all. If you walk out into the field you can see North and South pretty good as well. I was there to start gaze so I did not walk around much, but the people that I did see were very nice. I did venture down to evergreen lake, be careful, it gets really, really steep, and there were lots of deer, I think I saw 20 deer in one day.

This was a great campground and what made it great was the fact that the sites were spaced nicely. Check-in was easy. People were friendly the restrooms and the showers were clean and maintained. Garbage area was tidy. The place was super quiet at night. Loved the ability to have hook ups, on site laundry (the laundry room was clean and well maintained). The pricing was reasonable for loads of laundry and drying. We had a 20 foot camper van, but there were some very big rigs in there that had no trouble getting around. It was a super short drive just west of Durango, which we really liked! We really enjoyed the stay here and will definitely be back again when we come back to Durango.
