Our property features a host of cottonwood trees, a creek, two outdoor bath houses, a fire pit, a 1.5 acre mini farm in progress. There are two new bell tents, available with up to 3 single beds, or one king. Crestone is a beautiful, remote, high desert wilderness surrounded by classic Colorado (almost) 14-ners with high alpine lakes, rivers, hot springs, rock climbing, mountain biking, and our property borders on the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Crestone is also known for its 30 diverse spiritual centers, incredible star gazing as a official dark sky community, alien sightings, and it's beautiful and unique housing community that focuses on building with reclaimed and natural building methods. Our home, like many of the homes here, is creatively made from recycled materials, using two train cars for the body of the house. The property also hosts a 1200 square foot Dojo, built by the previous owner, a Qi Gong master lineage carrier. We continue use the space for yoga, capoiera, dance and other events. We are completely off grid, using solar power, wood heat and some propane when needed. We aren't on sewer or septic, so this is an opportunity for the understanding of composting toilet and humanure systems. That may seem low-tech overall but, we are blessed with the infinite power of Starlink internet! Great opportunity for part time mobile office types.
Our goals on the property are to enhance our lives, and those in our community, with everything we do here. It was very peaceful. Great views of the Rockies and surrounding area. Owners are helpful, pleasant & have great suggestions. Tent is roomy, king bed was comfortable, temperatures in the 20s but we kept warm with the wonderful bedding. Table available and cushy chair inside the tent. Two outdoor chairs available if needed. The shower was super hot which I LOVE!!! Clean restroom. Very earth friendly. Soap, TP and bath towels were provided. Easy access to activities around the area. We visited Great Sand Dunes National Park and the quirky Alien Watchtower. There is a community park in Crestone, a small natural foods grocery store and a couple of restaurants to try out. We tried the pizza place that serves alcohol and the food was great! Highly recommend this place to stay. We are relaxed and regenerated after our visit! The resident dog was an added bonus!! She greeted us when we came home and in morning and evenings!!

We were glad to get out. It was easy to find and was pretty peaceful overall.
Unfortunately there was a burn ban so no fire but they had the set up for it.
John was helpful and nice would love to go back when we have more time and maybe when it warms up a bit. Was still a bit chilly at night.

This RV is luxurious and the hosts are kind and sweet! Such a relaxing space, with every comfort you would want glamping. We had so much fun camping here! Would definitely recommend. You can tell how much effort these hosts put into their rental space, and it really was rejuvenating. The animals were lovely. My family had a blast. Will return again!

The orchard site was perfect and secluded. I was car camping with my dog, and we had a cozy evening by the fire, under a sky lit up with stars. Having the toilet nearby was convenient, especially with how cold it was the night we were there. We walked over to watch the horses in the morning and enjoy the views. I would stay there again!

I had such a wonderful time on Lydia’s land. The views are incredibly beautiful and serene. Although it rained most of the time I was there, I stayed warm and dry in the tent. The bed was super comfy, and the shower was HOT. The host family is lovely. I definitely recommend!

This was a perfect stopover on our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park! The camp was very well maintained and the directions were easy to follow. We were treated to an unbelievable sunset, a gorgeous starry night, and stellar views to wake up to. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

1 night at Coyote Mountain, Crestone Open Sky
One of my favorite stays I’ve done! Instructions on how to get there/park were very clear. Property was beautiful with the sounds of nature and wildlife near by. Having the tent that faced the mountain made waking up and watching the sunrise was breathtaking! Chairs were out side the teepee so we got to enjoy all the star gazing and shooting stars. Can’t wait to stay again for another get away.

This campsite was surrounded by beautiful views and no one to bother you. John, the host was super chill and friendly, even gave me some fresh green beans from his garden. There is great hiking nearby and a river for you and your dogs to play in. Definitely recommend. Thanks John!

Perfect desert style camping! Bring your own shade! ☀️ Thank you for providing water with large tank for the unbeatable camping bathroom experience! A flush toilet and a HOT shower under the incredible starry skies are unmatched! The lake is a 3 min drive or a small hike away. You cannot swim in this lake but there's plenty of beach and you can still fish and be on-water! The small town aboit 12 mins away is perfect for any last minute or forgotten quick grabs.

1 night at Mudita Camel's Yurt
We had a great time staying on Meghan’s land. We rolled in late for our stay, but had no trouble with the clear instructions she provided.
The yurt is truly a treat, coming stocked with camping stove supplies so we were able to cook some light meals. I also really enjoyed the wood-burning stove to keep warm.
We also treated ourselves to some camel milk fudge and camel yarn.
We stopped here for our trip to Great Sand Dunes, and Meghan recommended we stopped at Sand Dunes Recreation hot springs in Hooper nearby. It was just what we needed! Incredible place for a desert getaway.
