Campfires are allowed, but it is your responsibility to determine if there is a fire ban in effect. Firewood may be available or dead wood can be collected on the property. There is a picnic table nestled in the scrub oaks. We only rent one side and the entire property is private to you!
We do have neighbors, but the property is pretty well tucked away. You may see the occasional vehicle or hiker on the road or hear someone doing some yard work, but it is generally very quiet and secluded at the yurt.
Our neighbors have chosen to live in Marble for its privacy and tranquillity. Please show them respect by keeping the noise down and leaving them be.
If you have questions or need help, call us from the yurt landline.
Winter camping experience/equipment and a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle with severe snow-rated tires and chains may be required to access the yurt Oct-April. During large snow events, driving to the yurt may be impossible in any vehicle. Skiing to the yurt may be an option Dec - Feb. Gear sleds are available at the yurt for your use.

After traveling the US in our motorhome for almost 5 years my husband Scott and I know the value of a smiling face and a helping hand after a day (or week) of travel. Exploring and experiencing this amazing country, its diversity and incredible people enhanced our lives in so many ways.
In mid 2017 we found out our first grandchild was on the way. Long story short we parked the RV and parked ourselves here in Paonia, CO. In December of that year, we moved onto this amazing property full time and started the long list of fix ups (the list is still long). lol

Ample space to pitch a large tent. The large lean to with chairs and table was great for dinner on a cool evening. We had to pack up and get moving but this would be a fun place to stay for a couple days in the area. Gerry was kind and helpful.

After driving to many of the local BLM camps and not feeling comfortable with leaving our camp to fish the local rivers, we found Gerry’s oasis. She was an amazing host, has a beautiful property and the experience was very tranquil. Highly recommended.

This is our 2nd visit to Joyce’s land. It’s amazing! The campsites are right next to the CO river which we had fun floating down. All of her animals on property are awesome. She’s very communicative and there’s great restaurants in town with a convenient grocery store. It’s the best! Highly recommend!

Lovely agrotourism camp with mountain views, sunroom with wifi, showers, outdoor kitchen, clean porta potties, eggs for sale, and in the summers Monday night live concerts with cantina. It's a good place to get to know the Paonia community. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, able to answer questions about sights to visits in the area. Interacting with the chickens and goats was a special treat! Great area for agrotourism, lots to see and do!

The site is beautiful, right along the river and easily accessible. The site itself is best suited for 1-2 tents. RV/camper parking is above the site and on the other side of some trees with a little path that leads to the riverside site. Perfect firepit, privacy and seclusion despite proximity to other sites and I-70. We camped with two young kids and it was great. Hosts were responsive and welcoming. One bonus is close proximity to New Castle which had a nice selection of restaurants if you need a night out or to pickup food for your camp. Would highly recommend.

Tent camped here with a larger group after hiking hanging lake! It was a great place to rest coming from Denver that gave us access to some supplies and stopping in Vail before. Host was awesome and kind! If you are coming from Denver and not familiar with the area, odds are you won’t be able to have a fire due to local restrictions, so bring a light or lantern!

Our family had a great time over 4th of July weekend at #1 Sheep Site. It was pretty perfect for our family with young kids. We liked that this site had plenty of shady trees to keep things cool through the afternoon. It also had good privacy from the other campsites and the river since it is surrounded by trees on all sides. (Nice to keep the kids safely away from the water when we were busy getting dinner ready.) This site is the first one you come to in the row of 4 available, so there is only a neighbor on one side. Even though every site was full, we couldn't hear anyone else. Super peaceful place. Our 5 year old loved seeing the trains pass through a few times per day, feeding the farm animals, and wading into the river. The location offers a good home base for all of Garfield County's adventuring and the host, Joyce, is so kind and was easy to reach before/during/after our stay.
