Our ranch, Alpaca on the Rocks, is 5 acres, located near the small town of Weed in northernmost California. We have 10 alpaca along with mini-donkeys and horses, a mini-mule, assorted cats and dogs, Icelandic sheep, and Kune Kune pigs.
This is quite a place: There are the sounds - the odd mutterings of the alpaca, the constant hooting of doves, the off and on braying of donkeys. There are the sights of the country life that surrounds us, the cattle and sheep of the ranch behind us, and the horses grazing in the meadow across the road. And a final and impossible to miss addition to the sights and sounds for you to take home - the solitary 14,179 foot Mount Shasta presiding calmly over its domain.

Juniper Spur Ranch

Welcome to Juniper Spur Ranch! Directions: GPS Juniper Valley Spur....this is a short culdesac road with a road sign at the entrance off Juniper Valley Drive. There is a green pipe rail gate at the end. This gate has a combination lock. You will receive the current combination code 2 days before your arrival. If you are turning onto a dirt road without a sign....you are on the wrong road. Juniper Valley Spur is my short culdesac road with a green pipe rail gate at the end.
We have 3 RV sites available for campers to book. Please note that we do not have RV hookups for any of the sites. You will be parking on loose gravel and the sites are flat. We can accommodate most RVs/trailers, if you are uncertain about the size just send me a message.
There is a portapotty in the hay barn cleaned regularly and a water spigot for non-potable water uses or for a quick outdoor shower with a handheld spritzer. It is not enclosed so you will need to be discreet.
Pets are allowed at campsites #2 and #3 only. These campsites are farthest from the horses and dogs. Please keep dogs on leash at all times.
Our property offers a beautiful view of Mount Shasta. Nature lovers, extreme sports enthusiasts, family vacationers and retirees, can all enjoy the vast recreational opportunities this area has to offer.
Lake Siskiyou is about 20 miles south and offers a wonderful 7-mile hiking trail around the entire lake. Bring your horses too. I have a couple of electric-fenced paddocks for visitors.

We've been enjoying this special spot with family and friends for over 25 years, and now we want to share it with you. We appreciate the four seasons here on our 120 acres in the beautiful Cascade Range between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta. Our property is adjacent to Shasta Trinity National Forest.
It's a working ranch with tree farms, animals, hydroelectric power, sawmill, gardens, orchards, creeks, springs, trails, and our camp alongside Kosk Creek.
We're 54 miles from Redding off of 299E, (about 1-1/2 hour drive). The last mile or so of the road here can be pretty rough, but on arrival, you'll know it's worth the trip!
No Cell phone service available here, so it's the perfect opportunity to unplug. We do have a land line up at the house in case of an emergency. Also, if you really need it, WiFi is available at the house.

There's lots of blue-green Serpentine stone here, hence the name "Rock Farm."
We are an organic farm so we take care to use non toxic agriculture.
Fresh spring water provided, we offer primitive camping and are developing some more luxurious sites. Dark nights with no light pollution gives great sky watching. Mountain views in daytime. Very quiet at night, and safe. Near beautiful Kangaroo Lake and Mount Shasta. Quiet and peaceful, pristine. Formerly Munson Mill, which closed in the 70''s.

We have 35 acres so you can choose the site you like best when you arrive. Mountain Views are amazing. Swimming hole nearby. Right off Highway 3 between Etna and Callahan, California. Or, camp across the street with an old wooden mill building for company. Small wetland nearby brings lots of birds to sing you awake in the morning. Open, level space great for nighttime stargazing. Property has a gate you can close at night. One hour drive to Mt. Shasta or Ashland, Oregon. Groceries, massage, hardware store, laundry, bakery, showers, restaurants in Etna 8 miles away. Farmer's market in Etna Saturday morning. Not far from PCT trailhead outside of Callahan CA. If you need a ride from there, call and we'll pick you up if possible for $20. Firewood available too, $1. a stick. Near Kangaroo lake for fishing, swimming, hiking, boating. Bicycle groups and motorcycle groups going by every summer. We're at 3000 feet elevation, so nights are cool even in the summer. Bright stars; We even have our own UFO. Air fresh and clean. Minimal mosquitos due to dry climate. We are located between Mt Shasta and Mt Ashland with winter sports nearby. Hike the Klamath National Monument trails. Visit the old mining town of Yreka and check out historic Montague's Open Sky Art Gallery, the only justice-inspired art gallery in the Pacific Northwest. Many waterfalls and clean lakes in our area to visit too.
I am an ARCH (Arenas for Change) Designated Horse Professional, Coach and Educator. I will be present with you for any horse experience you choose.
Horse experiences available:
1. Communication with Horses. Connect and interact with the 5 horses and 2 donkeys in their pasture in a natural setting. Build confidence, reset your nervous system, and experience a deeper dimension of horse nature and how they teach and heal us. Stroke or groom horses as you learn more about these magnificent, sensitive creatures.
2. Self-Development with Horses. Want to be seen and heard?
SEEN and HERD is a wellness session with horses with a specific intention you identify. This experience is often deep, transformational, and healing.
The solution to any issue lies within ourselves. The unfolding stories of the horses and donkeys, as they interact with us in their natural setting, lend insights into our own story. Learn what is needed to move forward with intent.
3. Mountain Horseback Trail Riding. Go for a ride with a wrangler and me
on gentle riding horses up well-established mountain trails on a recreational ranch as my guest. Guest fees apply and are included in the price.
4. Arena Horseback Riding and Lesson. Ride alongside me in a large arena on a gentle riding horse. Learn how to relate to the horse as you ride, communicate effectively, keep your balance using the correct posture, turn, stop, and move forward smoothly. Build your confidence as you learn from a patient riding instructor. No judgment, no yelling. Just fun learning!

Wildlife of cougar, bear, coyote, bobcat, raccoon, skunk, etc are our local neighbors. We are quiet, secluded, and off the beaten path. We are family & pet friendly. Our night sky has been rated as the darkest possible providing an absolutely clear view of our universe! Come watch the Space Station on some evenings!!!! We even offer free firewood for a campfire, though there is no grate for cooking!
Sis-Q Ranch is located in the mythical State of Jefferson. If you love the outdoors, you can hike the beautiful Marble Mountain Wilderness, explore forest trails on your mountain bike, or cycle the historic roads and byways of Scott Valley. Swimming is offered on the Scott River a few miles from the Ranch or at smaller streams nearby.
If you love history, Scott Valley has opportunities to learn more about the Old West. Our Valley was formerly known as Beaver Valley, and played an important role during the settlement of the West. Fort Jones was a military establishment, and the entire area was very active during the Gold Rush. Many historic sites are found in and around the local communities of Fort Jones, Greenview, Etna, and Callahan. The Fort Jones Museum holds a lot of information about our two local native American tribes: the Shasta and Karuk. It is also famous for its fabulous collection of rocks and minerals.
